Some pick me up snacks I like are capers, any pickles really and veggie sushi is a real treat for me too. They are my go tos that I know will perk me up without blowing the diet. Are there any things you can think of that you can have on standby.
Actually when I was having a bad time at work I quite often took a ciggie break but as a non smoker went for a little walk outside just to clear my head.
Thanks. I am feeling a bit more positive, but still not really on top of my cravings. I need to want to fit into my slim clothes more than I want to eat chocolate (just like Liz Hurley said).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi. I love the title Dragon. May I join you all for April? I'm hoping that declaring my weight loss goal may motivate me to achieve it. I'm aiming for a four pound loss this month, starting weight is 134.6 lbs.0

Hi and welcome marie2! You're in the right place, we are all very friendly here.
vicki, I am going to compile a list of snack foods that are healthy and handy to have at work. I like most fruits and already eat quite a lot of apples, pears, grapes etc, but hadn't thought of capers etc as a desk-friendly snack, thanks for that. In the next couple of days, I am going to have to eat very lightly indeed if I am to have any hope of fitting into this dress on Tuesday.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Glad to hear you're happier now Tara.
While fruit is healthy it can be quite calorific, can you switch some of the fruit for veggie sticks, do you like carrort or celery sticks? Slices of pepper, cherry tomatos etc. Salsa is a good dip which you can freeze in ice cube trays so defrost a portion to take to work, might be a bit stinky for the office though?0 -
weighed in this morning at 12 stone 7 so a loss of 4lbs from march
aiming for 7lbs this month
very happy at the moment, can get in to my size 14 trousers and jeans comfortably, i tried them on when on friday i realised i could take my size 16 jeans off without unbuttoning and unzipping them0 -
Hi, can I join?
I've got around 2 stone to shift, It's gradually crept on and I refuse to buy the next size up!0 -
Evening all
I weighed myself yesterday and ended up being 2lbs heavier than last week:mad:, however only got myself to blame been on a downward spiral last few weeks, have managed to consume so much chocolate, crisps etc. Really need to snap out of this, Ive done so well - as have lost 2st since just before xmas and really dont want to put it back on.
So today I have eaten all of my easter egg and some of the kids chocolate, plus finished the multi pack of flakes - btw did not win a lipstick and I have now eaten about 25:eek::eek::eek: but not all tonight lol.
My aim for this week is just to eat healthier and get some exercise even if its only a walk somewhere or doing something in the garden.
So as of yesterday I weighed 11st 4lbs, if i can get under 11st by the end of this month I will be very happy:tongue:Mum to 2 cheeky boys2011 will be my year!!0 -

I know fruit can be quite high in cals, but relative to the junk I am liable to snack on it's very low! I am currently compiling a list of low cal snacks (for work mainly) and would really appreciate any suggestions. So far I have:
Capers
Carrot batons
Fruit (I love all fruit)
Raw/roasted peppers
Oatcakes
Poppy seed thins (need to limit amount tho!)
Bouillon as a clear soup (never tried this on its own, it might need some veggies in - could actually be a lunch idea)
Anything else???? We could have it as sticky on the first post of the thread to inspire everyone.
I also ordered a tiffin box on the M&S site earlier for £9.60 so that will hopefully enable me to make my lunches more interesting!
BTW, I can't eat whole cherry toms - I just can't crush them in my mouth, it makes me feel like I'm eating an eyeball ick!!!!!!! :rotfl:
poppy, well done on the weight loss, that is fab. :T
newbeginning, welcome to the thread!!
helenhelen, put the 2lbs behind you and move on, remember how well you have done to lose 2st, this is only a blip. See, all I need to do is practise what I preach!! :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I can't stand tomatos either Tara not raw anyway but love them in things!
A sticky is a great idea,
If we're doing office friendly I suppose it should be things that don't need to be kept in the fridge?
Ryvita seeded ones are really nice with a bit of marmite spread on. You could make a soupy drink from the Marmite too.
Small tubs of chicken paste are good too for keeping in the desk incase the munchies strike! Although not sure on the cals though?
What about some options type chocolate drinks to help wean you off, or a small ration of dark chocolate.
I used to keep bags of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds in my desk to munch on too, they're not very low cal but I found I didn't eat many in one hit.
Do you like cous cous? If so you can make a mix of dried herbs, spices, a little salt and anything else dry you might like such as sesame seeds, dried mushrooms etc. That can be kept in the desk and just add boiling water, leave for a while until the cous cous is soft. Add a little water at a time so you don't end up with a slosh.
You can keep lemon juice (I did) and balsamic vinegar in your desk for adding to salads as I found most supermarket salads come with a high cal dressing so if you do buy out you can use your own.
Actually especially when I was pregnant my desk was stuffed with food!0 -
Hi all. Dragon may I be added again this month please? I was seriously MIA last month and have to admit I was rarely on the thread at all. I did well in Jan and Feb and then went off in March although I don't believe that I have gained. Off to SW on Wednesday morning so I'll enter my starting weight for April when I weigh in then. I really want to get 7lb off this month but also have a number of social events so am gonna have to be very very sensible
. Also instead of avoiding this thread - reading it every day as it is a motivator. I'm still running 3 or 4 times a week and I believe that is what prevents me from gaining weight. If only I could control my eating, I would lose some.
Anyway, good luck all. And thanks.0
