Maisie - I feel exactly the same, summer clothes are my main reason for doing this, have you got much too lose if you don't mind me asking? I really want to shift a couple of stone but tbh I'd be more than happy with a stone.0

Hi Maisie and newbeginning,
I'm feeling the same about my summer clothes. One of my biggest motivations as it says on my sig is my brother's wedding next year, but I have to admit that booking a holiday and the thought of having to wear swimwear of some description  really gave me that kick up the bum I needed to go for it! I still have AT LEAST another stone (more really) to lose before I can even think about it, but I'm hoping I'll get there. I'm not good at breakfast either when I'm working Maisie, but I take a banana with me and have that as soon as I get there. I think a lot of it is about getting into a routine. It's just what I do now, and I don't think about anything else (until it's someone's birthday and the cakes appear, then it's still very hard!!)
We'll all get there...:D

Thanks! It's going well so far, but I do have quite a long way to go (I want to lose another 2 stone really, then reassess and decide how much more I want to lose after that ). I'm basically doing the old Rosemary Connelly low fat thing from way back. I'm sticking to as little fat as possible, with a limit of 7g per day. As it's something i've always done (I lost 3 stone for my wedding 5 years ago and put it all back on again and more), I do find it quite doable. I'm also cutting out sugar in my drinks and drinking loads and loads of water. And finally I'm 'wii fitting' for an hour a day (although I've had a cold the last 4 days or so and haven't been on-it'll be telling me off next time I get on it! :rotfl:)
I have to say I'm finding it a real motivator knowing I have it on my sig on here and that I've said I'll report in each week with my weight loss. Also, my sis-is-law to be is also losing weight (on ww) and we text each other each week to ask how it's going-another real motivation not to mess up!

Thanks CG, I'm old fashioned too and find low fat/low calorie the easiest way, thought it was only me!!
I've got the wii fit too, try to get in an hour where I can, but I find it gets a tad boring, so always seem to find an excuse!! And to be honest I don't stand a chance on some of the exercises!! I've got the EA Active thingy too, that's good if you do get fed up of the Wii fit, next on the shopping list is the 'more exercises' for that one.
Keep up the good work, You're doing fantastic! It always motivates me more when I see someone else doing so well.0 -
I know what you mean about the wii getting boring-I set myself a routine of step, jogging and hula hoop and it did start to get quite boring doing it day after day so I upped my 'free step' to 20 minutes and do that for the middle 20 minutes of my routine and watch tv while I'm doing it. I find I really look forward to that bit and it makes the other bits more bearable!

I cant get the hang of the Hula Hoop, but love the boxing, wish you could set that as free time, like the step, or can you but I've not got that far yet???0
-
Do you know, I've never tried the boxing at all. I will do though now it's been recommended-thanks! I quite like the hula hoop, but have to make sure my curtains are firmly closed before I do it - I feel like such a plonker thrusting my bum around and I'm sure it looks even more ridiculous than it feels!! :rotfl:

The boxing's good, You have motivated me to try out the hula hoop again as well, I can do a real Hula Hoop ok(ish) but just not the Wii one for some reason!0

Evening all, LOL at the bum thrusting!!! :rotfl:
I had my PP session and it felt really good. I also cycled there and back. I had a pretty healthy dinner and (sorry) two chocolates about half an hour ago. But compared to sitting down with a jar of Nutella and a spoon, or a packet of biccies, very restrained! I also went shopping (Tesco and - gulp - M&S) for some fab and healthy lunch stuff for tomorrow, have thrown all MSE policy out the window temporarily while I just focus on eating better!had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I stayed the same. Can't beleive it four months in a row and I am going to stay the same. Its my TOTM at the moment so it may be that but I was hoping to have lost a couple of pounds. I cannot fit into any of my summer clothes and am already feeling despondent about the summer coming.
Need to give myself a good hard kick up the a**e and really apply myself. So from today no more lunches out, sandwich shops or takeaways until I have lost 1 stone!!!! To be honest I only do these maybe twice a month each but nonetheless they will be stopped. I will also commit to eating breakfast at home everyday and not grabbing a snack when I get to work. I have a full box of meusli in the cupboard which hasn't been opened to will start that. Don't understand why I find these two things so difficult as I make DS a packed lunch for school every day and make him eat breakfast so why I am I so bad to myself
Anyway onwards and downwards and enough waffling.
