Eeek, just noticed that you have to pay for that diet... is it bad that I am too stingy to pay for it without getting the equivalent in cashback from Quidco? :rotfl:

I just bought a book in a chariy shop. It was one of the diets recommended to me by the dietician I saw last month, I saw it and bought it....I wouldn't pay for it! There might be a typed out day by day eating plan on the net somewhere, or a second han book on amazon...mine was 75p ;)

  • Well done purpleroses!! :T:):j 3lbs is a phenomenal loss!!

Lostinrates - Really glad you didn't pay the online prices for that diet! How are you finding it? Is it very restrictive??

Tara  lovely!! How's the health kick going for you these days?

I'm a wee tad disappointed with myself! :( Only started my healthy eating yesterday, I've already caved and just gorged on the chocolate! I didn't even really want it that much, but it's there, I'm home alone trying to write an essay for uni - and I'm bored! :(

I'm trying to debate with myself whether I should go to the gym - or actually - I'm trying to give myself a big kick up the butt to get out the door and go to the gym!! ;) Maybes that would make me feel a bit better about my chocolate indulgence!!

Hope everyone else is having a happy healthy day!!

    xx

    xx

It starts with a 14 day plan, which might be as much as I do....I'm going to see how I feel at the end.

Its totally restrictive, as it itemises day by day what you eat, and I'm following it to the letter.

The days look a little like this (this is not the actual diet, but if Tara or anyone wants to try the 14 day thing I can type out each day what I'm eating IYSWIM.
    )

    Am:
    glass of water
cup of tea or coffee (decaf I think)
    half a grape fruit
    a poached egg

    mid morning:
stick of celery filled with a teaspoon of humous
    glass of water

    lunch:
    glass of water
    half a grapefruit
    75g of lean ham

    mid afternoon:
glass of water and eight walnuts

    Supper
    Glass of water
    half a grapefruit
chicken breast and a green vegetable of choice
a low fat yougurt/sugar free jelly
    a cup of tea/coffee.

So essentially is a low complex carb, low fat, protein and veg friendly diet in which grapefruot features heavily!

The menus are purposely simple on this 4 day bit so you are not hanging around the kitchen. :0)

edit: tonight should be a beef stirfry but I've decided to cheat and repeat the first day main meal. (chicken and green veg, for me spinach). This is my second deviation from the plan. ;) I find it quite meat heavy: I don't usually eat meat everyday, today would have been twice, but I am feeling very well on it. I gained weight on a lean meat/no cheese atkins, and found it terrible: I really like fruit and veg. The grapefruit in this plan really makes me happy :)
  • That sounds tough lostinrates! I admire you for even having lasted 4 days! Are you not starving?? I like my grub too much to give something like a go - although, I can see you'd probably lose weight quite dramatically on it - at the beginning at least! Do you know anyone else who's done it?

Tara - I totally feel your pain! I've turned into a proper lardy a*s! I'm so disappointed in myself after working so hard to lose the beef in the first place!! I'll get back on it though!

I've been starving pretty much all week, but today my appetite seems to have subsided a bit! Fingers crossed it's a lasting thing!

Resolution for tomorrow = to last 1 full day without chocolate!! And walk a lot out in the sun!! :)

    xx

Ironically its more food than I'd normally eat...I've got a complex hormonal problem which has caused me to gain/maintain a weight, and I've tried to deal with it by eating less, which has simply slowed my metabolism further and further....the dieatician was keen for me to eat more often and this is better than her diet plan I think, as regards ease for me.

I think the increased hunger I have is, hopefully, my metabolism picking up in responce to this trickle feeding. I've been very guilty, even though I know its ''wrong'' of ''saving up'' calories, to eat more normally socially , and obviously thats out of the window with this, (I'm wondering how I'm going to cope in a couple of weeks when we have guests for he weekend actually, without calorie stashing!).

Its not hard really, because there is no decision making, it is however, not what I'd choose to eat, bar the eggs and the grapefruit. :)
