  • Did anyone watch Terry Pratchet on the BBC last night?? It was regarding assisted suicide. Both OH and I sat there with tears streaming down our faces, it was a very moving article and so very sad that the 2 guys in question had, had to travel to a Dignitas clinic to carry out their final wishes.

OH has said that it has definately made his mind up, that if he was ever diagnosed with a terminal illness/incurable disease then he would want to go down the same route. Whilst it would break my heart to let him go, like they said last night in the programme we wouldn't let a dog or a cat or any other animal suffer so why do we let humans suffer as they do?

Mr Smedley died at peace, with his wife by his side, at a time that he had chosen, with dignity intact, he knew the implications of his illness and wanted to be able to make that choice whilst he was still capable to make the journey and was of sound mind.

Even down to when he thanked the camera crew whilst he was dying, and shook Terry's hand and said goodbye. His wife was so brave and whilst she didn't agree with her husbands decision she supported him through til the end. I am not sure that I would be so controlled about it all and would be bawling my eyes out.

This morning before I came online the BBC was getting loads of complaints. At the end of the day no one had to watch it, they chose to watch what they did enough warnings were given of the content plus there is always the power off button.

  • I can well believe missing the bike :D

I was gutted for Guy Martin too, but it was a great race to follow and the highlights were brilliant. I am missing Hutchys Highlights already, he could read the phone book to me and I would probably go into a little giddy turn!

My racing dream is to get to the IOM for the Manx GP but am some years away from this as I need to get a certain type of licence first and that will be hard enough

re the bike, it is well worth doing for yourself if you think you would like to try. The most important bit is finding a great training school. Some are not great with girls  especially if we are on the short side (can't remember how tall you are!)

it isn't the easiest thing to learn and I found it very hard and got very frustrated with myself - am not a natural by any means - so if you think you may get cross with yourself too then I would hang on until things are more on an even keel - if you are still rebuilding your confidence from things with your ex hubby then you need to make sure you can find someone to teach you who 'gets' you.

I may be completely wide of the mark in which case forgive me, I don't want to sound like I'm putting you off as I'm not, I think it's a great idea and I think you will love it!

I have stayed away from the assisted suicide thing for now - difficult with things last week, and had a close family member who we had to turn off the life support for. I'm not sure how I feel, I'm really not, but I completely respect the wishes of others.
  • OH wants to go to the TT races even if its just for 'Mad Sunday', know he would absolutely love it. :) But apparently it is really expensive and gets booked up months in advance although I think we would be camping?? If we went to keep the costs down a bit.

Nope, haven't put me off at all about doing the CBT test, OH said that I can either just stick with that and have a 125 and see how I get on - as its loads different from being a pillion. But I know me and I won't be content to ride around with L plates on and then have to put myself through a CBT every 2 years.....but will see how everything pans out at the moment have enough worries with the job etc. Although have stressed and worried about it as much as humanly possible and have come to the conclusion of what will be will be....

Am waiting with baited breath at the moment to see if the court will accept the further proof that !!!!!! had actually received the paperwork and is just being plain ackward by not signing them. But if I have to pay another £150 for the court bailiffs to serve the papers then will just do that - just means that it is more money that I have to chase !!!!!! for that.....

Ohhh....got an email on my way to work this morning to say that I had got some news about my euromillions ticket...:):):) as I can't access it at work then will have to wait until I go home......am not excited one bit - the most I have ever won on the lottery was a £10, although my sister was in a syndicate and they won £35,000 there was 7 of them in it but at that time it paid for the deposit on the house that she still lives in.....:) the money came to her at a time when she really was on her harris....

On the :money:front I have managed to move my mortgage payment from the 1st of the month to the 23rd.....which means that this month OH will give me the usual £550 (mortgage payment) and I will then use this money to repay the outstanding gas/electricity bills with NPower and a chunk off the OVO gas/electric bill although I do not know how it managed to be the same as when I was living there when the place was empty :( then the next mortgage payment he will pay direct from his bank account on the 23rd of July he gets paid the 22nd so that works out really well :).

Another payment went off my employers loan so the balance is £1139.53 I have expenses of £39.80 to repay towards it and then I am hoping that I can make another payment of £105.00 to bring it down to under the £1000 mark that I wanted to aim for this month :T I have a strange feeling that any redundancy package I receive will have the balance of my loan deducted from it before I get it  but will use the remainder to pay off a chunk on the HP on my car or look at a cheapo runaround and sell my other car...but as it will need shortly 2 new tyres, and the MOT is due in September as I have only done around 19500 miles then I shouldnt think that it wouldn't pass but you never know.....

Well thats me done for today....home to catch up on the epic diaries of Hypno....

    Morning folks....

Got 2 good pieces of news when I got home....one was that I had won the lottery :j for the grand total of £2.40 :rotfl: the second was that !!!!!! has finally signed the divorce papers and he has admitted what he has done  but he has stated that he is unemployed and living on benefits and as I am working and are not being legally represented then he disputes paying for the costs......Strangely enough he put down that he had received the divorce papers on the 10th May at MY ADDRESS !!! then he has signed the papers and given the address for service as his solicitors, but get this ........in the place where the solicitor should sign then he has fraudently signed as a solicitor and put their address . The handwriting is the same yet the court hasn't picked up on this !?!??!......so the dilemma is do I bring it to light before I sign the petition for the decree nisi and swear the affidavit :o....or do I tell the court.....?????

He thinks that no-one would check....but I know that he is trying to cover up the fact that he is working otherwise the solicitor would have completed the forms and signed her name not him just scribbling the name of the company !!!

Its so typical of him thinking that he is above the law  ...well so far he has got away with a lot of things....:mad::mad: one day he will get his come uppance.....:T

If I do bring it to light it may mean that the divorce is held up even further or do I keep quiet and let it go through??? :silenced:

    What a to-do list!
I can feel your anger re the ex, I hate how everything falls on your shoulders to deal with :(
Regarding the fake signature, doesnt there have to be some kind of official stamp too? I'm not sure but anyone can fake a signature so theres usually some sort of official stamp when a solicitor signs something. Please ignore if I am talking rubbish.
I better get on with my to-do list...
  • BF that is unbelievable about him forging the signature and putting your address on!

I understand your worry about it delaying things further, but would it be worth a quick chat with your solicitor to raise the issue with her? At least then you could consider your options, you are stronger now and this is something very black and white that he has been very silly about. If she (think it's a she but can't remember!) says let it go, then fair enough, but she may be able to advise you further.

re the TT - I know it will have been worse getting over this year as it was a big centenary. I think the ferry booking is a bit of a nightmare but if you book enough in advance and ask around enough, I'm sure you could get something. Lots of people camp for the money reason, and I have heard lots of people saying this is an important part of the experience too!

The other option is to go for the Manx GP at the end of August - less busy but not so many big names, although a lot do still go and take part in other races.

good luck with the to do list!

  • Morning all :)

I rang my solicitors yesterday and as she is on holiday this week I spoke to her secretary who tried to say that maybe he had signed it in the wrong place and that obviously as he had signed it then that was all that mattered....

Needless to say when I did go to the court, I just happened to mention that he had stated that he was unemployed. As I know a man who can .....then some discreet enquiries and I found out that not only is he working but where.....The clerk at the court asked me if I had applied for my costs, so I replied yes...she then said that I should write on my petition that he was actually working and what he was doing and where :A.....so I did.....:rotfl:okay maybe I won't get the costs and possibly nothing will get done about the fact of him lying.....but at least it gave me great satisfaction....:) that at least the Judge knows and who knows maybe he in view of the this he might grant me my costs......:T

My mum and dad came round last night and my dad just happened to mention that he had seen !!!!!! with work gear on and his rucksack the night before walking to a certain point and then stood as if waiting to be picked up....so I know that he is working nights as it was around 8.45pm :) he will be thinking he is so clever thinking he has got away with it.....

I have applied for another job....same place but with a different organisation from mine....and a different role but kinda linked to what I do now.....they have had 180 applicants

DS comes home tonight from his dads has one exam left next week and then he will be moving 100 miles. :( Shortly he will be 18 and I have always encouraged them to make their own decisions and after 2 years of training to be a mechanic he has decided that he wants to be a farmer. His dad wants to retire in 10 years, and its three years at farming college. Plus it also means that he gets to have a car as his dad will buy him one.

I feel happy and sad at the same time. Happy for him that he feels that he can make that decision but sad as I won't get to see him as much. But then no more teenage rants....:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day. :)
