  • sounds like a week of ups and downs for you - great news on the next door garden, now that you have been working so hard on your house, it will be lovely knowing that you are surrounded by a nicer environment outside too :)

re the car - when I changed mine down, I did it through a garage and they were happy to give me the difference between my car and what I bought. They can also sort all the HP paperwork for you too so less hassle. the reason I mentioned this is that you would probably get a better price than we buy any car - I have seen lots saying that what they offer when they come round is often much less than what the website says :(

I'm sure you have thought about all the above but just wanted to suggest it in case you hadn't.

hope you can have a restful weekend and that if you go and do the brother thing that you can get through it as calmly as possible

BF, you should be in Scotland this weekend, the weather is much nicer and I'm popping to Greenock later today for some drinks! You would have passed through a (crappy) town called Port Glasgow, thats where I am from. I live in Glasgow now though.

Sounds like you are very busy as usual, hope the weekend turns out a good one for you x
  • Afternoon folks :)

Nothing to report on the job front so that is very much up in the air still and am just taking it one step at a time.

The weekend was a lot better than I thought it would be too :) OH's older brother and nephew arrived Friday night armed with fish and chips and carrying several bottles of wine...:T and a crate of bud... so plenty of laughs all around was just great to relax too after a fairly stressful week.

Made a chocolate fudge cake when I got in from work on Friday which went down really well too, so was pretty chuffed at all the ooohh's and aahhh's.

Saturday we managed to get the garden tidied up and OH painted the garden fence. My friend AM came round and had some of the chocolate cake and then my parents came too so they had some as well so when brother came back with nephew, sister, brother in law and little niece came back luckily had made enough for all for tea and was plenty of rhubarb crumble too......we all then trooped up to sisters and brother in laws for drinks. Wasn't too late a night either so managed to not get stressed about staying out too late or drinking too much, or the fact that they both smoke dope too - it was a nice pleasant evening not the usual 'lets see how much we can drink in a short space of time til we are falling down drunk type of night'. Plus as brother's car was already at sisters they decided to stay there for the night. NSD

Yesterday we went for a quick ride on the bike as both of us are skint at the moment it was just to pick up my car and back home again. Back to Mr Lidls for some groceries and back home, then the usual round of washing, ironing, making lunch etc. DS came home and announces that he is seriously considering going to live on the farm and going to farming college in September....:(, I have told him to follow his heart and do what he wants to do as it is his future.

OH and I discussed selling the car over the weekend. AM's (basteward no 2) partner has a friend who has a car business etc. Any how his friend has rang and said that he would offer me £4500 this is well under the offer of webuyanycar needless to say am not going to go that low am not that desperate to sell it....only got 19,600 miles on it so will keep it thank you very much !!!

Will possibly try another garage near to me and see what they say...but if not then I won't bother and just plod on until I find out one way or another about my job my redundancy money would pay off the balance on the car if push came to shove....:)

Oh nearly forgot too, :) I spoke to my solicitor on Friday and told her that I had filed the paperwork for the case for an undefended divorce as I hadn't had any response from barstewards solicitor. She went onto to say that the next family court hearing is in the middle of June, and that recently a Judge granted a decree nisi just on the proof that the papers had been served. So hopefully I will get my decree nisi sooner than I anticipated and by the end of July it will be all finalised :j. The solicitor said that she will then contact his solicitors to see if he will sign a clean break and if he doesn't respond then will close the file which means that I may get a refund  from a solicitor!!!! :)

Hope everyone has a good day :)

  • Nothing much to report jobwise or otherwise...

a couple of NSD's apart from my parking expenses which I need to claim back but that will go on the extra payment for employers loan so hopefully can get that below the £1000 mark this month :)

DS has definately decided to go and live with his Gran/Dad. Am a bit gutted tbh :( but the lure of a car paid for by dad swung it and he will enrol at farming college in September.

Really need to contact the electric/gas companies and get those pesky bills sorted out especially if it is gonna be that they are all going up with such a huge price increase...

Just heard on the radio that the country is in as bad a shape as it was in the 1920's......:(

The worst thing is that wages aren't going up to cover what we need to live on on a day to day basis. :( I guess the worse thing that could happen is that the mortgage interest rates go up on top of everything else...mine is fixed for the next 18 months or so, so thankfully I am okay at the moment but dread to think what will happen after that.

On the divorce front got home to a letter from the court refusing to accept the email that barstewards solicitor sent to mine as proof that the papers have been received by him - despite it saying ' my client received the divorce papers at his property this week' - emailed dated 13 May 2011....:mad::mad: They have stated that I will need to have acknowledgement of service and pay for a bailiff £150....:(

I have written a further letter to the court and this time enclosing the letter from my solicitor which states 'that they had received the email from his solicitor confirming that the papers have been served and that I could use this as proof that the papers were received'. If this fails then I will have to pay the £150....:( its not just the fact that I have to pay.....its the fact that even now he is still trying to control me.

Not sleeping too good either...am worrying about my job, my dad and now the divorce....great stuff just what you need going round your head when your trying to sleep and on top of all that have got sciatica too :o

  • :( Got home to County Court Papers on Friday evening -from the Creditor which had been asking for proof of my illness from my Doctor.

MBNA wrote the week before stating that as they hadn't received proof of illness then they were to proceed with court action. I wrote back advising that I had enclosed a solicitors letter stating that I was a victim of domestic violence also a copy of my prescription showing the medication that I was taking. I did explain that I could not control as to whether a Doctor would respond to such a letter but they have gone ahead with it anyways. Feel a bit gutted tbh that they have not taken into consideration that I have religiously paid my £5 token payment without it being late or anything for the past 12 months...I am not sure what they hope to achieve by doing this...:( I am going to contest the court fees as I feel that this has just extended the debt even further....

I did tell OH as soon as I received it and he said ' what do they hope to achieve by doing that??' grrrrrrrrr

On a more positive note have decided that I need a good kick up the proverbial harris and get myself into shape which will help no doubt with the confidence etc especially as I will soon need to apply for new jobs as the funding looks to be non existent from September.

Was also told by my boss today 'At least now you have a man to support you, but try not to worry in the meantime' .....:mad: we were discussing my role at my secondment at the time....whilst she was also making a note as to how many holidays I have taken since April....not sounding good at all

What doesn't break us, makes us stronger....:)

  • aww burntfingers, sorry things are so rough for you.

I saw a little quote a while ago which sums up how I was feeling last year when things were particularly rubbish

"I know I'm strong, I am just sick and tired of having to prove it ALL the time!!"

    made me smile a little.

I don't know what else to say other than keep going, think about the nice little things in life, and believe that better things will come your way soon :)

good luck - but what a stupid thing of your boss to say!!
  • Lioneheartedgirl...can you believe I am actually missing being on the bike...?? This is someone who's not been on a bike for umpteen years and at the weekend it was a nice sunny Saturday and we were watching a couple on a bike pull into the petrol station at the side of us......so I asked if we could venture out :) .....OH was chuffed that I had actually asked to go out :T said that he would ride everyday...but its getting so that when a bike now passes me I wish I was on it......OMG>.... think I am getting hooked....:rotfl:

We sat and watched the TT races on Saturday night and thought that Guy Martin did really well to come second and I think 2 other thirds ???...that would scare me sh**less going that fast round those bends....well maybe in another couple of months it won't be as scary...:rotfl:

I am itching to get my CBT done now....OH :A has said that he wants to pay for it too :T so am trying to work out when I can do it....then it will be me trying to find a bike ....or taking the plunge and doing the DAS...:)
