Great news about the divorce
Hope the phone/net stuff gets sorted soon0 -
 still no phone line/broadband at home so quickly checking messages whilst at work
Have had 3 NS days this week and am hoping for at least another one as we going away for four days at the end of the month and are hoping to go touring on the motorbike to Scotland.
I am going out for lunch tomorrow with work colleague so will be about £10 then on Thursday after work meeting a different friend for an early dinner although realistically I should offer to pay as she usually pays for me and then says you get it next time, but as we don't get to see each other that often, its her kinda treat to me....
Got home last night and sorted out all the paperwork which had accumulated during the move. Went online as it was working at that time...to change driving licence details had to sign up for a government ID ...but then it still asked me to send my licence back to them cut in half.....so I had spent ages filling all the details in online when I could have just completed my new address on my driving licence and returned it just the same. Having said all of that I understand as to why they want the old licence back especially with all the identity fraud etc.
My mortgage payment scheme has now finished and they have requested that I contact them with regards to the monthly payments. I am feeling pretty anxiousabout this alreadyI know that I have to ring them but know they will want me to make an arrangement to pay off the arrears too but right now just making the normal monthly payment is going to be double what I have been paying plus I have gas/electric bills totalling nearly £600 (ones from flat and ones from house as I left heating on so wouldn't have burst pipes) to contend with. Plus OH doesn't know about the outstanding bills for the house
.
I am seriously beginning to think that I might be better with a DMP or an IVAas I cannot realistically see as to how I can ever manage to get out of this debt that I am in, especially when DS leaves college as the maintenance, child benefit and tax credits will leave me worse off by around £300 per month
(which is what I have used towards my divorce this month)

You should speak to someone like CAB or similar to help with advice on this one. Not sure how you can get round that. The child payments will be a big loss for you. I have been worrying about losing mine with all the cut backs and changes the government are currently making.Halifax CC £1029/£2490, Tesco CC [STRIKE]£0/£3203[/STRIKE], Tesco loan £15431/£15808, Carloan1 £6743/£8241, Carloan2[STRIKE] £0/£3813[/STRIKE]

I intend speaking to CCCS and going through all my options with them. I have heard loads of good stuff about themand their advice is free too, plus they have an online service that you can use too.

Hi BF
Just echoing what Flee has suggested, CAB would be the best place to start. Have you checked out the specific DMP posts on here, maybe a good place to get info, read about peoples experiences etc.
Well done on the NSDs
Oops cross posts0 -
thanks to both of you...
The only problem with me getting to the CAB is that most of them are only open in working hours whereas CCCS is telephone based and is anonymous as in not sat in front of someone. Dunno yet will have to see how I feel discussing it on a telephone which will be bad enough but to think that I may see someone on a face to face basis and then have a panic attack
Have to pluck up the courage to ring the Mortgage company first...:(Total debt £[STRIKE]37864.78 [/STRIKECOLOR=purple][FONT=Arial Narrow][SIZE=1 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] £31681.03[/STRIKE] -[/SIZE][/FONT][/COLOR]£16700

BF, if CCCS is better for you just now then go with them.
To be honest I'm not sure what (if any) differences there are between the two but if you are more comfortable speaking over the phone then thats probably the best thing.
There may be CCCS councillors on here you could chat to in the meantime x0 -
on a totally different thread....
did anyone see that extreme couponing on real time on Sky??? ....it was about some American's that were literally going through bins and collecting coupons from their neighbours or on the internet or even buying coupons already cut out to use at the supermarket.....
They were literally stashing all the groceries/toilet rolls/washing liquid etc etc....one woman even said that she hadn't paid for any deodrant, mouth wash or tootpaste in 34 years....their houses were full to the brim and two even had everything stored in the garage and every nook and cranny in the house. It stated on the programme that they would never be able to use all of the toiletries etc that they had ever accumulated in this lifetime.
One had started out of a necessity as this woman was on her own from being 12 years old. She was a teenage mum at 15 and lived on handouts from the state....she said that the only contribution from the father was a packet of nappies which had brown spot marks in the nappy, she wrote off complaining and received some coupons and that was what started her off.
Another couple had got married and had 17,000 dollars of credit card debt and had car loans etc. They have managed to pay all of this off and literally paid a very small amount each shopping trip as the coupons paid for everything.....one had an amount of shopping worth 5,000 + dollars and I think he ended up paying about 52 dollars for it. He had nine 'cart' loads of goods and had even ordered a huge amount of breakfast cereal which he then donated to his church.
It was jaw droppingly shocking......I don't know why or how the supermarkets let them get away with it.....the staff even helped push the carts around - even stacked the cars which were all people carriers and one couple even had to take the second car as the first was full......
I think that the supermarkets over there had more offers than ours do, plus I am sure that our supermarkets only take a certain amount of money off coupons.
If no-one else saw it then its just me waffling on ......shuffles back to corner

Crikey that is mad. Don't think I could go through someone's bins though to find coupons.Halifax CC £1029/£2490, Tesco CC [STRIKE]£0/£3203[/STRIKE], Tesco loan £15431/£15808, Carloan1 £6743/£8241, Carloan2[STRIKE] £0/£3813[/STRIKE]

BF sorry to hear about the finances, have you worked out the exact current position, and what all the various scenarios are, i.e. what you would need if x, y? Sometimes this can help or clarify what you need help with. Is it a short term situation while the divorce goes through, or longer term?
Have you worked out your finances with OH, if he is sharing the house with you presumably he is contributing in some way even if not paying towards the mortgage? I'm sure you have already considered the possibilities but it's just a thought
I don't know about CAB or CCCS at all I'm afraid but no harm in ringing CCCS if that suits you best, and seeing what they say. Presumably you don't have to commit to anything straight away, so can explore other options if that doesn't feel right?
Good luck, you have come through so much already so I am absolutely sure you will get through this too! :T0
