  • hiya folks :hello:

on the job front I told my boss that my heart was to continue with the work that I do here...yes, I may have shot myself in the foot by doing so, but really feel that I do make a difference here...:)

Plus the environment that I presently work in can be quite challenging  and no two days are the same. :) It has also been hinted that the place where I work would like me to develop the service and roll this out to my clientele and to make it a recognisable qualification etc. :T So this is something for me to get my teeth into....I have to admit though my presentation skills are not the best, :o but I know my stuff and I am good at what I do....:j plus to make it into a course it needs to be interesting

So with this in mind I have applied for a course which will help with that :) and my own boss has okayed it, but having said that could hardly refuse as it is free and will help with mentoring etc. :j

On a :(:(:( note my dad was rushed into hospital with a suspected heart attack...at the moment he is comfortable but is struggling to breath, he is having chest pains and his blood pressure is sky high. He has had a blocked artery previously and they are thinking that possibly this has happened again....Last night we were sent home and the hospital advised that they would start on tests this morning. As yet we are waiting for news... I am very close to my dad and cannot imagine the time when he will not be there. :(

OH is very subdued and seems to have gone within himself. :( I know he is really worried especially as his brother went into theatre at 8.30am and is still in there.

The estate agents rang last night said the usual we have someone really interested and her uncle lives near by and she is really keen is a first time buyer etc. I flatly refused and said that we had decided to move back in and that as we are in the middle of decorating the place then she couldn't view it anyways....:rotfl:Then I reminded them that they still hadn't collected their for sale board....

good luck with everything - and hurrah on the bike! Book your CBT when things have calmed down a bit, with someone who is well recommended, have a go and see what you think :) it's not for everyone, some people are more comfortable on the back than on the front and that's fine as long as you love it!

I am presently collecting my bike gear together and once I have all my own kit then I am going to do my CBT, going out on his bike at the weekend made me want to pass my test :jand get my own bike....I used to have a little moped and bombed about on that like nobody....:rotfl:

Saw my so wanted shark folies helmet on ebay it was XS and was brand new still in the box for £42.00 :( I need a size S.

My trailer tent apparently now has 22 watchers so I am hoping that is sells this evening and the buyer can collect it this weekend....:jI will use this money towards paying my dad the £500 that I owe him.

Also signed into my greasypalm account and found that I had £6.54 validated plus took out a policy for life cover (to cover my mortgage) £12.00 per month and got £70.00 cashback plus got a VIP code so that meant another £40 on top.... so my greasypalm account will stand at £116.54 to go into my debt account.

Then I signed into my topcashback account and that has a balance of £17.54 so will need to try and boost that one up a bit more.

My car insurance is due in June so will use these for some more cashback, plus I am with Npower (flat) at the moment and Ovo energy at the house so I can change those hopefully and will get some cash back on that too. Every little bit helps....more money into debt fund.

Went to doctors this morning for a review and he has given me some more tablets to take in addition to the ones that I already take for the anxiety...he says no wonder I am anxious with everything that is going on etc...!! but *gulps* that is £14.40 on prescriptions. I know its probably cheaper for me to do a yearly prescription plan thingy but usually I don't take anything at all and very, very rarely go to the doctors.

Today is just going by so slowly....just want to go and see my dad in the hospital and make sure that he is okay :(

hope your dad and OHs brother are soon on the mend hun. if you think your meds will only be for a few months have you thought about a 3 or 6 month prepaid thing-it's not as cheap per prescription as an annual but it is cheaper than individual prices paid every time ( I'm working on the theory they still do the shorter term prepayments for scrips - they used to, but i am going back a few years). lol xx

  • Hiya folks

Feeling a bit groggy this morning as I started my additional medication last night :o

Thank you for all the best wishes....

My dad is still in hospital awaiting a heart scan...he hasn't had a heart attack which is good news, but they have said that his heart isn't working properly as he has swollen ankles and fluid on his lungs...they are pumping him full of drugs at the moment and are injecting him into his stomach, which is leaving horrendous bruising :( plus he is still breathless, although on a positive note his blood pressure seems to have come down. They are to continue with the tests today so hopefully there will be some news today as to what exactly is wrong with him.

As for OH's brother....as I said in an earlier post they operated on his left leg to take out all the previous metalwork, take away all the dead bone and cut this back to the live bone in the hope that they could insert growth hormones and an artificial bone which would encourage the bone to heal itself.

Sadly, one they opened his leg up they found that there was no viable bone left in his left thigh, :(:( The surgeon cleaned it up took out all the damaged bones etc and stitched it all back together but then took the decision of operating on his right leg, which was also damaged in the crash but could not support him wholly as his knee was not where it should be and this was to be operated on at a later date....that explains why the surgery was over in such a short time.

His wife last night told us that it is almost inevitable that he will now lose his leg :( ...hence them repairing his right leg as this will be needed to support him. It was always there in the back of our minds that this could happen but it is so shocking that it is now reality my OH is gutted and was very tearful last night so I can't even begin to imagine what OH's brother is feeling this morning when he wakes up.

Not a very cheery post this morning...but hopefully things will improve over the next few hours. ...

Hope everyone else has a good day...and may all your problems be small ones :)

Hugs to all of you and yours, no wonder the doctor thought you needed some additional meds, coping with all this just shows how amazingly far you have come in such a few short months xxx
Well done on the job front it feels from your writing as though you are very happy with the choice you have made :D

All the best to your Dad and OH (and his brother) don't know what words can help but as a fellow biker please let them know people out there are thinking of him xxx:(

Oh BF, I have been away too long - so much going on in your life - like the doctor says - no wonder you need the meds.

Firstly, congrats on the up and coming proposal - its so good to hear that you have a good man in your life.

So sorry to hear about your dad and your OH brother. I hope Dad is fixed and out of there soon. Its a very worrying time I remember when my Dad had heart troubles. Very sad about OH brother I dont know what to say - its my worst fear when I am out competing if something goes wrong and I end up broken badly like that. Thinking of you having to deal with all this at once. x

How is your friend doing after her surgery?
