    Hi BF

Hope you are having a nice weekend, good luck with the new funding application. :)
I hope that when youre in your new home things start to calm down for you. It will already be full of the new memories of the two of you planning the decoration and of course the 'fun' of diy together!
  • Hiya folks...

Thank you for all the lovely messages...

Thursday night didn't end up being a cheapo shop at Mr A's ended up costing £105.00 :o but did get quite a bit of meat etc enough to last a couple of weeks, plus cereals which are very expensive...

Plus OH and I were sat talking in general and listening to the Adele album (which is my current favourite) and he tells me that he loves me very, very much and that he is going to propose to me in the not too distant future.... and that he wants it to be very special, that even though he has been married before he never asked them.

OH said that he has wanted to ask me a thousand times over but as I am still technically married and he is old fashioned...:Aalthough he has mentioned it before, its never been in any detail but this time he did ask that if I would consider changing my name back to my maiden name which he knew me by all those years ago?

He has said that I don't need to, but it would seem more romantic if/when I do marry him as on our marriage certificate it will show my maiden name :):).

So very, very different with !!!!!! hubby as I wasn't going to change my name to my married name as professionally am known as my present surname...he insisted that I change it :(.....my works ID badge needed amending so I sent off the relevant forms and marriage certificate......received an email telling me to go and collect new badge.....still same surname but as this had taken 6 weeks I CBA changing it, besides by this time he had already started abusing me and I was damned if I was gonna change it then!! Needless to say my ID badge always stated my previous surname...as no amount of badgering was going to make me change it after that!

Friday I went along to B&Q armed with my voucher for 15% off, was shocked at the till when it showed that I had only got 32p off ...the girl on the till then mentioned that was just the code that they used :o so not only got 2 x 2.5 litres of their own brand paint for £18 a saving of £6 saving on those I also got 15% off too :j. Got the paint for the bedroom and wallpaper for feature wall...paint for lounge/stairs/landing and feature wallpaper...plus gloss, paint brushes, wallpaper paste, wallpaper brush and rollers and tray, plus bathroom anti mildew paint....for a grand total of £148.00 :T

Then I went to my work (yeah I know on my day off !!) and collected my work colleague to go to Costco, we split the membership so it was £15.00 each, I did succumb to a jacket potato with chilli but at £1.25 that filled me up no end, but not enough to resist their carrot cake £7.95 :o:). Dropped aforementioned colleague back at work and went to meet my OH as a surprise as he was working on his bike... :kisses2::iloveyou:

Headed back to the flat, quick change into decorating gear...and I went and painted our bedroom. Looks great...can't wait to move back in now....:)

Saturday OH was on his annual AFR bike meeting although said that hardly anybody had turned up at the cafe that they normally meet up at. But still he had a good ride and the guys that showed up was pleased to have seen them.

My dad rang and said that he would take me for some new doors for the house, and one to replace in the flat which my son broke in anger :mad: but all in all they cost £57.00 so only slightly over our savings of £200 for everything...Endless running about as the builders merchants didnt have them and we had to go to the other depot...would have been quicker to go to B&Q but dad got 75% discount :T which beat my 15%.:)

So I then went to paint the lounge/stairs and landing at the 'new' house but as the hallway has really high ceilings then I did as far as I could reach without standing on the step ladders, 1) hate heights 2) don't feel safe on stairways on ladders 3) I was on my own and if I fell nobody was there to help.....I was doing each stripe of wallpaper really, really carefully so that I didnt have to give it a second coat and not having the splashes all over....being careful paid off it looks brilliant:T So much brighter but then the sun was shining through the 8ft window...(its south facing too!)

Then OH turns up on his sister's bike as he hadn't managed to get his on the road as the insurance/log book only turned up on Friday...:( and he really wanted to go on this ride....so he says that he will take me out on the bike....so I went back to the flat....got all my kit on and then we went out for a ride:) .omg !!:eek: 50mph felt so fast and didn't like the left hand corners, felt like I was gonna fall off ....:(, the right hand ones are okay :) think it was something to do with having to look into the bend on which ever side its on....but was absolutely amazing......:j:j. He did open up the bike on the motorway  :):) but I felt like one of those nodding dogs in the back of the car :rotfl::rotfl:as the borrowed helmet is too big :(..but he has said that he will order me the shark s600 folies helmet for me ready for the rally at the end of the month.....:j

Got a letter from my solicitors stating that they had contacted barstewards solicitors as they have not received any divorce papers etc and this has been going on since the beginning of December...

Yesterday as we had gone to a house warming party the night previous it was a late night and we didnt get up until 11.30 I was a bit annoyed with myself as I didn't want to stay in bed so late but thought that we must have needed it.....

We rang his sister who is storing my trailer tent...as the weather was quite decent thought it a good opportunity to get the pics taken and to get it on ebay....I bought it on the insistence of !!!!!! (despite having a brand new vango tent) was just something else that he HAD to have....paid £350.00 for it (we bought it from his brother cheap) and its been sat outside for 18 months unused and its not likely to be either...so decided it had to go. So far it has 4 watchers on it and hopefully it will sell relatively quickly as it is a conway corniche....:) which will help towards paying off a debt which ideally I should pay my dad back the £500 that the solicitors demanded  before they would take on my case....

Had a lovely Mother's day as DD was home and DS bought me a card too :) its really nice that she choses gifts for me what reflect how she feels about me which is really nice...especially as we had some right ol' run ins when she was at home....but nothing more than any other parent experiences with a teenager...

Last night OH made dinner for us all, DD tasted it and said that it was too spicy for her....:( needless to say she drove to McDonald's ....(standard food apparently for a student..:D) We just chilled with a bottle of wine and watched City of Angels....OMG....how sad was that???

Saturday and Sunday was 2 NSD's and today will be another one....must get my list done for April....doesn't seem two minutes since last one was done for the beginning of March !!

    Good afternoon everyone

The proposal will be sometime off yet as my !!!!!! hubby has not even filed for the divorce yet...On the advice of my solicitor I agreed to sign the paperwork to allow the divorce to go through although adding that I don't agree with the allegations. It would appear though now he knows he is gonna get jack sh*te he has stopped instructing his solicitor...so it could end up with me filing against him....which will cost me even more money :mad:

Last night we went to the 'new' house and I stripped off the wallpaper from the chimney breast and OH finished painting the staircase/landing. :T:T We only stayed about and hour and a half but got done what we wanted to for now...:)

OH isn't his usual happy bunny at the moment :( last year his brother was involved in a very serious bike accident which has left him in a wheelchair....his injuries were life threatening at the time but he has pulled through, and on the whole is on the mend. One of his legs was shattered to bits and is held together with pins etc (I don't understand it all and find it a bit too squeamish to pay too much attention to it :o) The doctors are worried that there has been no new bone growth in 12 months they are going to (from what I understand) take away the old dead bone, pack the healthy bone with growth hormones and a plastic?? bone in the hope of it forming new bone and repairing itself.....!??!?! he will have external fixaters (sp) etc he is going into hospital today with a view to them operating tomorrow. The operation will take all day...and some...my OH is a twin and he is very close to his brother...

If this operation isn't a sucess then he will have to have his leg amputated just above the knee. :( Whilst his brother has accepted this as the inevitable, my OH is devastated at the thought.:(:(

My best friend (AM) has also gone into hospital for a gastric band fitted today she is overweight but has recently lost 4 stone  and looks really well.....I don't agree with her reasons for doing this (she lives with a player - who doesn't have any scruples in chatting up her friends, asking them to kiss him in front of her, sleeping around with other women etc)   she thinks by having this done that he will be happy to have her on his arm    I would personally kick his arris so far into next week and beyond - but it is her decision and whilst she knows about how I feel about him, she knows that I will support her through whatever happens...(we have been friends since highschool so well over 32 years). :j

Plus her mum who has always had issues around my friends weight has given her the money to pay privately £5000k, (at christmas my friend had some promotional photo's done and she looked great) her mum's comment was ' it was good to see her not filling the whole of the photo instead she was now only filling half of the picture!!!):mad: So you can see what she is up against. Funnily enough when my friend asked her to help her out with some debts that she had she refused point blank !!

AM is the most kind, warm hearted person anyone could wish to meet, she would give anyone her last penny, AM will do anything for anyone, and nothing is ever too much trouble nor she is ever too busy.. :A :A

This morning she rang me and HE had just dropped her off at the clinic he didn't even bother going in, but rang her when he got back home to say that she seemed a little (?!?!?) upset  . I have said that I will ring her sometime this afternoon after the op hopefully she will be home tomorrow...but think that HE will be going over tonight...but if it turns out she is on her own then we might get to see her tonight :) but it might be OH wants to go see his brother before his op??

NSD for me today...brought my lunch in and have chicken curry planned for dinner tonight so no need to spend anything as yet (!?!!?)

    Have a good day everyone

    BF xx

  • OMG !!

Got some potentially good news today :j- the place where I work are so impressed with the service that I provide that they want me to continue to working here for the next year...:) they have approached my company and asked how much it would cost for them to keep me for a year...I am feeling really positive about it and am hopeful that they will decide to keep me :):) I really do love it here...

    but then.....

My own company has found some funding for a 'body' to do what I do and to also promote our company/services.....the only trouble is that it is an immediate start and means that I have to leave here straight away :(...I was asked if it was something that I would be interested in? :o It was going to be advertised internally before it went externally I replied that my heart was here, but if it meant a job or no job then I would consider it..... plus it might mean working under the Manager that I used to have who bullied me and made my life hell :mad: .....it will mean using my own car too...:(

Have emailed my OH as I really don't know what to do???

    Heya

Flip a coin!!! However reading your post I feel youd rather stay where you are just now. I know its such a difficult choice with so much job uncertainty all around but sure you will do what feels right x

such a lot going on for you, but (and this is do as i say, not do as i do!) try and find a little bit of quiet in amongst it all to think about the job stuff. As LB says, flipping a coin will determine how you really feel about it, and if there are good options both ways, I know it will be even tougher. but from recent times, I am learning that the best outcome can only manifest if you are really, truly honest with yourself as to what YOU want.

Working for someone who has made you feel bad in the past goes one of 2 ways in my experience - you've either dealt with it, and are stronger, and will never ever let them let you feel like that ever again, or if you aren't quite ready, history will repeat itself. Sounds like you are in a good place so hopefully it would be the former.

I had some horrendous surgery following a really nasty ankle fracture 13 years ago now (!) so am thinking of your OH and his brother. I hope things go as best they can and that his brother heals well, and that OH can cope OK with it. It's a very scary time for all involved. My mobility and prognosis was better than I could ever have hoped for so good things can and do happen.

good luck with everything - and hurrah on the bike! Book your CBT when things have calmed down a bit, with someone who is well recommended, have a go and see what you think :) it's not for everyone, some people are more comfortable on the back than on the front and that's fine as long as you love it!

Ohhh more life changing choices to make don't think this one should be done with the flip of a coin though!
Just remember horrid bosses rarely change

But good luck with it and how lovely to know you are appreciated whatever you decide
