Os daily thread -thursday 25th march

Evening everyone
Not been posting for a few days but have been reading each day, Can't believe how busy the thread is today and can't keep up with everything at the moment.
Good News is my oh and I found a lovely house at the weekend in a small village called Abridge which we have had an offer accepted on, so fingers crossed it will all go through. I have tried to contact the local school to see if they have any places, but they can't say and was told to ring the Admissions Dept of the council, but as DS2 has a statement I had to ring the Special Educational Needs Dept, who also can't confim if there is a place as we have to apply once house has gone through, but told it does take time to get statement amended etc. The school looks lovely and is quite alot smaller than the one he is at now so hoping that they will be able to take DS2, from my understanding the only reason that he may be refused if the school doesn't think they can meet his needs.
Also went to parents evening last night and realised from discussions with ds2 teacher that he will never catch up with his peers and was advised that when I do look for a high school to find a small one or one with a Learner Support Unit or he won't cope. Felt quite upset really, as though I have failed him in some way, especially as he was off school for nearly 3 months with his broken leg and they managed 4 hrs p/w tuition.
Anyway have to look at the positives, have managed to find a nice house and hopefully a smaller school would be better. I have also managed to finish my wedding invites, decided to do cupcakes(or my mum is;)) so ordered some silver cake cases, silver stand, edible hearts snd silver baubles off Lakeland.
Hugs to anyone that is feeling down or unwell or just wants one anyway. I do enjoy reading the thread each day and feel that it is so nice that we all support one another. Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take Care.

Thanks for the advice re rail tickets peeps :T
We'll be coming from King's Cross in London so it's a fair distance. How long does the bus take from Middlesborough kezlou? We're planning to use that bus to get along to Staithes and Hinderwell so I can tend the family graves (a little morbid, but hey
).
Awwww lowesy you're making me homesick! I was born in middlesbrough and my grandparents had a caravan in Staithes. Such a beautiful little place.Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Redruby - how is dd after the door incident? Hope that the black eye never appeared, they can be soooo hard to accessorize! xxx
Thanks for asking, she is fine, not a mark on her, i think it was more shock than anything, I still have not heard back from B & Q so have written a letter today to the CEO at head office, hopefully I will get a reply soon
Just back from dd's play, all the girls got into groups of four or five, and put on small 5 min sets based around mental Illness, it was a fab evening, and most of the audience were in tears, the girls wrote the scrips, made the sets, and costumes themselves it was fab :T, I am very proud as she was always so shy, and drama has really bought out her confidence.
Have good evenings all, hugs where needed xx0 -
:oThanks to you all for getting me through the day:T you are all fab.
I feel a lot calmer about it all now.
OH has had his new tablet and hopefully it will work over next few days.
DS is settled in bed although he says his throat and ears are sore and his nose is blocked so he has had calpol......prob getting my bug:eek:.
Sad news as the couple next door told me they had to bury their cat today:( she was only 5 months old and they got her from a rescue centre 2 months ago. She was beautiful and so playful so it is very sad. The vet said she had a sudden heart attack. DS was very keen on her so had to tell him when I picked him up as I was worried he would look for her or say somehing inappropriate.:o
I cannot believe I am 40 tomorrow:eek::eek::eek:;)0 -

Evening all
Aldi shop came to £7.45 so I was happy with that. We have had thunder and lightning here tonight - I love watching a good thunderstorm
Did sausage toad tonight and it went down a treat. DS washed up bless him cos knees are really sore - probably due to the damp weather.
Pipkin.. I have had osteoarthritis in both knees from the age of 41 and I am 51 now but my consultant is still reluctant to do the replacements even though I can hardly walk now and have to use either the wheelchair or my mobility scooter - prefer the scooter I have control of where I want to go.
He explained that at my age I am active and that replacements would only last 3 - 5 years and that every time you have a revision the operation becomes more complicated involving bone grafts and is more risky to the patient - as long as I can cope with the pain he wants to leave well alone.
The other complication is that I have severe brittle asthma and refuse to have it done under epidural. I would go into a real panic with the saws etc so bit of a woose in that respect.
Welcome Emilyka :T
npm :A thinking of you and hope that OH gets his headaches sorted out - never heard of a headache clinic we don't have one here.
topsyturphy...great news re the house fingers crossed for you x
Well I am off to watch Bones
Keep safe a well all -and((((( hugs)))))to all who need them xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Just got home,I have had a busy day I went to the Ideal Home Exhibition with my friend and she wisely stopped me from spending too much money.Actually only spent a fiver on some Debbie & Andrews sausages 4 packs for a tenner so we had two packs each.:j:jWonderful tasting bangers ,they taste like sausages used to taste like and are 97% meat so you can have a hearty meal with only two and some cheesy mash and onion gravy ,mmm I could eat some now if it wasn't too late in the evening.I saw a lovely Swiss stick food mixer that I really liked until I found out the price was £150.00:eek::eek::eek:even on my silliest moment I would never spend that sort of cash on a gadget.I was suprised how much folk were spending There was a revolving sort of 'posh' summerhouse that basically held at most 2-3 people and the chap was selling them for £6,500:eek: who would leave that sort of thing in the garden to go rotten at that sort of price. its a different world for some people. But we had a great day, and I bumped into LilacLillie (Tina)whats the odds of that finding another OSer in the middle of Earls Court, she had been buying some gadgets there, but not as much as that .Then when we came back to Dartford I stayed at my pals and had a cuppa and a chinwag. Then I whizzed up to see big Frank as he and his wife only live about two miles from my friends house and he is looking good, if a little tired. But I am glad I popped in to see them and they were pleased to see me.So I have been gadding about like a thing possessed today .Just off to bed now and will have a short read before sleep.Tomorrow I have the school run followed by the dentist(crown replacement ) then in the afternoon I have my history class. Its all go at the moment I don't think I have stopped this week,Satuurday I am in London again for the day as I have a blue-badge walk with my Uni class around Islington.
Before I forget does anyone know if it's Olympia where the food exhibition is held, and when it is. My pal was asking me today as she wanted to go and see it.0 -

North Ormesby eh? I live in the Longlands area, literally just across the flyover . I'm close to the infamous wallpaper shop an garage on Marton Road.
It really is a small world. I grew up further over in Thorntree though, moved closer to town because of work.
Its amazing how small the world especially on a forum like this.
NPM - glad everything working out and your feeling much better x
Welcome Emilyka :j
Off to bed, another early start tomorrow night all x0
