morning all!
am off to work later so a quickie before I get ready.
(((hugs))) to NPM and PP
Sunnygirl - I hope it all goes well for your Mum today x x
OS - had a quick tidy up. tea for the others is fishcakes, chips and mushy peas or curry sauce - mine is free at work:money:got paid today:j so will get my financers upto date. My car is booked in for Monday to have the brakes done. washing nearly done but will be hung inside as its supposed to rain later.
Our salad leaves and french beans are growing nicely(pots from the pound shop)
DS has handed his notice in for his flat and will be coming home at the end of April:j:) am looking forward to having him back home again. He's not happy in his job either so is looking for other work but there's not a lot about.
DS2 is struggling at college, he's failed 2 key skills exams - maths and IT but can retake them. He's also been sitting up most of the last 2 nights doing work. I dont know what he's going to do this summer when he finishes. There's no way he could cope with uni even if he could get a place( on the very mild end of the autistic spectrum disorder) I've told him not to worry about it, something will turn up.
Thankfully DH seems a lot better. The steroid jab is working wonders so far.
hope you all have a great day xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
:jBitsy_Beans wrote: »On the plus side I am really excited as I spoke to a woman on the phone last night about joining and adult tap class :T:T I've wanted to do it for ages as I love dancing and after a comment from my H about finding exercise you enjoy I have decided to seek one out and join. It's not a beginners class but not being big headed having done tap for all those years (OK it's been a while) I don't really consider myself to be a beginner so she's happy for me to join
Just need to find out how much tap shoes are likely to cost as my parents bought my last pair for me
:dance::dance: great to hear you're joinging me in doing a tap class!:T:D
I've been tapping for about 15 years(still not very good:o) but thanks to our new teacher am very enthusiastic and getting better. I need new shoes too as mine are very thin now on the bottom. I'll be interested to hear how you get on!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all, long lie for me today as GF is down at her own house so I wasn't required on fill thermos duty!
Nice day up here although the farmer has sprayed his fields with dung so it's a tad wiffy!
Banana loaf in oven, chinese chicken thingy for lunch then chicken mayo sannies for tea (still on lates at work)
hope everyone has a nice day, away to tidy and polish the living room

Morning All ,
MSD - :A bless you, I'm ok really xx
NPM - hugs to you
Sunnygirl - hope everything goes well with your Mum's appointment today. And good on your DS!!
Bitsy - now I'm jealous!!!! I wanna do a tap class *stamps foot*!!!! I've been meaning to get back into ballet but DH and I have got into the habit of going out on Friday nights, so perhaps I should ring the school and see if there's a tap class instead. Prepare yourself for the cost of the shoes though, I think my last pair (bought about 12 years ago) were close to £35
Thanks to all who posted a wee bit about Edenbridge yesterday (sorry can't remember names). DH and I are going to have a look at a couple of houses on Saturday and a nose round the area.
DH and I are also thinking of going up to Whitby in May. We don't want to drive though (or rather I don't want to be in a car with DH and his frighteningly short attention span for 5 hours ) so I need to find a cheap train fare - any recommendations lovely OSers?
Am having a bit of a break from OSing today! DH is cooking tea, I've done the ironing and the only thing in my washing basket is a hand wash dress (why I thought that was a good plan I'll never know *insert rolling eyes smilie here*). So unless watching Emmerdale and then luxuriating in a nice warm bath counts as OS, I'm not
Anyway, apologies for the long waffly post (am feeling a bit better as you might have guessed as I can't stop talking) have a lovely day, OS or otherwise, hugs in abundance xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
hi lowesy, i work with the railway, best bet for a cheap fare is called an "advance" ticket. very cheap HOWEVER be aware they are very limited in what they do, so.... if you can plan the EXACT train you want to travel on there and back (they are sold as single tickets) you will get them very cheap. these tickets are on sale about 12 weeks in advance so check your dates on-line now. be warned tho, you miss the train you have selected then it's full price tickets on the day, and if you change youre mind they are non refundable. Hope that helps.

Noahs Mum ((((HUGS))) Life can be really hard sometimes, struggling myself at the mo. Things will get better:)
Sunnygirl Wish there were more people like you in the world. I firmly believe you get back what you give:T
Hugs and good wishes to those who need them today. Blimey this is a long thread this morning.
Sorry about the miserable post last night. I have decided to be much more positive and here are the reasons why I am grateful today- I have four beautiful healthy children
- A fantastic husband who loves me and I love him
- Time to spend baking, crocheting and looking after my family
- My little seeds are all popping through on the windowsill
- Managed a full day eating healthy yesterday and no rubbish.
Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hello Mum of Lewis! Nice to meet you.
NPM – hug for you. So sorry to hear about your 40th. Might not be your thing, but my friend had a children’s tea party for her 30th and it went down a storm – jelly and icecream includeded!
JackieG – have you tried tipping your laptop upside-down and shaking it? That’s the extent of my computer-fixing-ability I’m afraid…
OH came back from the shop with whoopsied chicken livers last night so we made a gigantic chicken liver cake. Just need to portion it up and freeze it. Should keep puppy-dog going for a good few weeks!
I really, really, really need to sort out my shocking eating habits! Yesterday somebody brought in cakes and I ate a chocolate !clair, 2 chocolate biscuits AND a bar of chocolate. Surprisingly, my jeans are too tight. So as of right now this minute I’m on that not-eating-everything-in-site diet that somebody was talking about. Unless I’m making cakes to bring in to work, in which case I am allowed to try one. Or two.
Dad retires tomorrow so need to sort out his present (bought, just not wrapped) and card. Dinner tonight is Pasta Bake, hopefully followed by icecream (we seem to have two large tubs of it in the freezer…). Lunch is my HM falalel with salad and pitta. Hoping to squeeze in some flying (need to find my way back to the flylady thread really), and clean out bunnies. I’m also considering making some eccles cakes to use up some currants in my cupboard…
Love and hugs to all

Its really miserable, so we have lit the woodburner, its stacked to the top, so should keep going for a bit.
OH busy on his computer, great to both being able to access the internet at the same time instead of swappping over the dongle.
Toad in the hole for supper, not sure about dessert, will have to have a root in the cupboard and see what I can find. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning!
NPM:- hang in there, i know its hard now but it will get better x
Mum to Lewis :- hello !
Lowesy:- We go to whitby quite am lot. you can buy relatively cheap tickets on the whitby railline site, with discounts only for that train. But there is an early bird ticket which is 1/3 of the full price one. My partner says its not advertised but its for those who travel before 9am. HTH. The trains are sporadic though and the times are a nightmare. But the only way to get a train to Whitby is through Middlesbrough.
If you get the train to middlesbrough, you get the X56 bus or 5 to take you straight to whitby.
So miserable here its been raining non stop now for two days:(, but i think i'm just going to clean the yard and sow some seeds anyway. Just had cheese on toast for brekkie, no idea what's for supper tonight, think its might pasta bake hmm0
