Redruby - I'm sorry if I was a bit too enthusiastic about recommending bamboo for screening in the garden! Pippa's idea of keeping it in pots is a great one, and she's so right about the black variety - it's really striking.

Thats ok
, I do like bamboo, so might get some in a pot to stop it spreading, I hope your house comes on quicker for you xxx
Morning all,
A bit grey here today, off to work so don't mind so much.
Dinner last night was cottage pie from the sunday lamb, and there is another portion left of OH tonight, so thats 7 meals and a sandwich off of that joint :T
DD has a show at school tonight, which me and my mun are going to, its between 5.30 and 7.30, so dinner for dd and I will be a takeaway burger and chips on the way home.

Good Morning Early Birds!
Wow, aren't we all up early this morning! I apologise in advance, I lovethe thread when it gets busy but I am hopeless at remembering all the details. Suffice to say, when you have all posted something nice, I'm cheering with you, and when it's  I'm  with you, and when it's sad, I usually have at least one tear in my eye. Been pondering all the sick people and thinking lots of positive thoughts for you all.
NO work today, we have workmen coming to do some repairs to the house today and tomorrow, so I will be busy catching up on all the housework I've let slide. You know that way the house looks clean, but if you look really closely you scare yourself? That was me yesterday!. I will also be making some soup for dinner tonight and some Chicken Pakora to go with for the boys. I rediscovered Curry Queen's onion bhaji recipe last noght, which we had with lentil dahl and rice, it was delicious, andI worked out about 70p for the whole dinner, I need to try harder, I love pakora / bhaji and it's usually a treat at the weekend, but a portion is about £2.50, and although it tastes authentic from the takeaway, The homemade stuff is fab and tastes a lot less greasy, and healthier.
I hope you all enjoy what the day brings, and those close to us who are going through hard times have it a little easier today. Hugs all round.

ETA I think my O and D on my keyboard are dying. Is it possible to get these fixed (it's a laptop.)It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Sorry to get it wrong about the bamboo, MSD! There are some photos on my blog (click into my name at the side of my posts, then go to my homepage). I still have some more to put on which I hope to do soon. There a are lot of 'befores' on there!Money_saving_Diva wrote: »Morning Mioliere - Heyyy it was me who was the black bamboo, keeping-it-in-pots girl.. :rotfl::rotfl: It's so rare I have something useful to contribute that I remember when I do!!
Sorry the house is so full of dust but you know it will be worth it. I haven't given up hope of seeing some before and after pics though. (nag nag)

Sistercas - I would worry myself to death if I had sons serving in the forces right now. It must be so hard for those who have loved ones serving in Afghanistan. My DS2 wanted to join up but he had a serious ear problem that prevented it; I hated the fact that he had the problem - which, after three ops, was sorted out - but I am still grateful to it for keeping him out of the forces.
Noah's Mum - hope life looks up for you soon.
Redruby - hope you can get somewhere with B&Q.

Just about to have toast and scrambled eggs before DH drives me to the hospital to have blood levels checked.
Get back in time for a quick tidy as we have our fourth viewing in two weeks at 12 today .
Did a long rant on last nights thread as I can't face the thought of more viewings even though I want to sell the house and to move. People acually reading the details or having a clue as to which town or county they want to live in before arranging a viewing and wasting their time and ours would help!
Hug to all and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Morning All
Another Grey wet start today
I am so glad I did the garden yesterday
Today I am popping down to Aldi to get a few bits - shouldn't come to more than £10 which is good because with all the bills this month we are a little overdrawn (Luckily we have an overdraft facility and if I am really careful next month we should be back in the black) DH gets paid tomorrow so we are going to our freezer shoppers club on Tuesday to stock up on cheapies.
DH has said he doesn't care I will get a kenwood for by birthday but I realy don't want one until we have enough cash to do it - I have waited this long so I can wait a little longer.
npm.......Everything always seems worse when you are not well yourself. I really hope things get better for you hun :grouphug::grouphug: x
Right off to get DS out of the door to school
will catch up later take care all x x x xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all
Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.
Sunnygirl - I'm sure your daughter's BF will remember your kindness when everyone else failed him, sounds like he's finding his path in life due to your love and support, your must feel very proud (and if you don't you should!)
Wet and still raining here and looks to be set in for the day. OH still on early turns so left at stupid early o'clock. Dinner last night was chicken breasts topped with stuffing and wrapped in bacon, new pots and veg. Tonights dinner is going to be a clear up tea, I seem to have several bits and pieces in the fridge that need using up so will cobble something together out of these.
Will be heading out to the scales in a while and then back home to crack on with the housework, washing, drying etc..... you all know how it goes! If I get chance would like to get going with the glossing. Need to do a menu plan and shopping list for tomorrow, got some books out of the library for some different ideas as we are eating the same stuff all the time.
Not much other OS to report.
Have a good day everyone.
Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Good morning OS ettes, :hello::hello::hello:
Good heavens, some real early birds this morning.
Steady rain here in Kent. I'll be off to collect my Avon catalogues this am. Unfortunately the plastic bags won't keep the wet out & I'll be adorning my heaters with them to dry off in order to re-use.
Just discovered where MSDiva gets all those wonderful smileys - wot fun. :j
Sorry so many of us face bodily 'stuff'. It's sometimes such a juggling act to get through a busy day with lack of sleep, medication, others' demands etc. Thinking of you all & sending warm vibes & support. :A"Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Morning everyone.
wow busy busy on the thread today.
Have a sore throat coming on  Had to get up in the night for some pain killers as it was really painful to swallow. Time to break out the echinnachea (sp?!!!!).
On the plus side I am really excited as I spoke to a woman on the phone last night about joining and adult tap class :T:T I've wanted to do it for ages as I love dancing and after a comment from my H about finding exercise you enjoy I have decided to seek one out and join. It's not a beginners class but not being big headed having done tap for all those years (OK it's been a while) I don't really consider myself to be a beginner so she's happy for me to join
Just need to find out how much tap shoes are likely to cost as my parents bought my last pair for me
Tea tonight will be makeshift so something on toast or from the freezer.
No other plans today - will try and do some dusting this afternoon when DD is asleep and the others are at nursery.
Sun is trying to come out so hopefully the kids can get out into the garden. Now it's warmed up slightly they want to be out there all the time :T Fine by me just the mud that tends to come back in the house that's not so much fun
NPM - Massive hugs from me. Has you OH found out the cause of these headaches? I am sorry you're 40th isn't perhaps going to turn out how you wanted - I'd send you a big birthday cake if I could
sunnygirl - hope your mums appointment goes well. Go on you for supporting DS1 choice - not sure I could be quite so encouraging so you're a better person than me
hugs to those that need them. Have a lovely day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
