Hi, this is the Daily Thread for thursday 25th march This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything old style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what old style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an old style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the old style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some old style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning, Sistercas - you're up early, too! Hope the physio does the trick.

    Welcome to Mum of Lewis.

Well, I'm not getting much time on here lately - too much house-renovating going on here with me 'helping' and getting grumpy about all the dust. I shall be so glad when it's all done but that's a long way away. Still, each day a bit more progress is made. The hall is half-tiled now but because levelling the floor has taken a long time, it's not going as quickly as we want.

    Well done to you, Haribo!

I shall have to read over the last few days of the thread to catch up with everyone.

Redruby - I'm sorry if I was a bit too enthusiastic about recommending bamboo for screening in the garden! Pippa's idea of keeping it in pots is a great one, and she's so right about the black variety - it's really striking.

Well, I think I'll have another cuppa.

Hope you all have a good day.

    Morning lovely OS-ers! HSINhouseWindow02HL.gif
welcome2.gifmum of lewis - Great to have you with us!
sistercas - Don't you be overdoing it honey, are you sure once a year isn't too extensive an exercise regime for you??giggle.gifgiggle.gif
Redruby - don't give up with B&Q, it took a long time before I got hold of anyone. They are really lousy at customer care.
Molly - comforting.gif I hope you will post whenever you feel like it as we worry when you do not. And feel free to pm.
Snoozer - So pleased the biopsy came back clear! I do have to ask you though so please stop saying that you are moaning hon! You should know we are all here to support you when you need it and there is no scale of 'hardships' that means your issues are any less important than anyone elses.
joyfull - Good work on the antisocial bamboo! Sorry mum was grouchy.. My friend Tris gets like that sometimes when he logs on if he isn't feeling well and I sit here gritting my teeth trying to be patient.. giggle.gif Course now he is too ill to log on much I miss even the grouchiness.
jc - hope you and snoozer get over the labyrinthitis soon. I have to admit everytime I see that word written I think of the movie Labyrinth and start humming 'As the world falls down'..
stroppyjock - my best friends solace on a bad day is always a chelsea bun and a cup of tea. Sorry the tyres were so expensive.
Lowesy - hugs.gifPlease pm me anytime hon, you sound really low and if I can help I will.
Donny - Good to hear from you and sending you love and thoughts for Monday. Thank you for the updates on Penpin, I do worry when she doesn't post.
Noahs - Hope you feel better soon, and hope the assessment goes the way you want it to.
Manc - will keep your BIL in my prayers, and try not to stress about the house, you can get all that sorted when things calm down a bit.
Julie - Take a deep breath............. and relax.. I know it's hard but please try not to stress, you cannot change the situation by worrying so it's just wasted energy and you don't need to give yourself such a hard time over it hon.
Elona - very impressed on the tippex removal.
Haribo - Super to see you posting, and really pleased that your new job is going so well.

I really have to keep my writing to a minimum, I take up so much space answering others..:rotfl:

HShungry.gifBreakfast will be toast and peanut butter with marmite; lunch will be HM bread with red salmon, mayo and lettuce and tomato sandwiches. Dinner will be sausages and mash. My OH gives a lift to a work colleague and every now and again she gives us a box of really nice expensive sausages as her husband manages the place that packages them up. So we had three trays of 18 arrive yesterday to be added to the freezer. Got to love free food!
With love, light and warm gentle hugs.giffor anyone who wants one.

Sorry the house is so full of dust but you know it will be worth it. I haven't given up hope of seeing some before and after pics though. (nag nag) :p

    hugs

  • morning.
Been up early as I can`t sleep:(
OH been having trouble with headaches again so has only been to work half a day this week and looks like he won`t be going today. He is self employed so it really has an impact on our finances. I don`t think he has done a full week since Xmas and now it is really catching up on us:eek::o:(.
I am just going to re do the meal plans etc and try to claw back a bit of money. Looks like my 40th will not be bothered with as can`t afford to buy the nice food I was planning now.
DS had a very noisy assessment yesterday, how I am supposed to talk to a doctor while DS is flapping up and down and making loads of noise and turning the light on and off etc I don`t know. They are keeping an eye on the tics and I have to go to some workshops with CAMHS to try to get on top of the anger outbursts:o
I am going to go before I depress everyone.....am so p***d off with everything and feel exhausted by life at the mo:(
Hope everyone else is ok, hugs to all others in need

    xx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Well today I'm in and out of playgroup doing various bits and pieces ready for our jumble sale at the weekend. Then will do some cooking for Easter so that I can get ahead and enjoy the Easter break as much as the children!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all

I'm a bit grumpy this morning as I feel tired and its coming up to that time of the month....and thanks to it being late two months running it will be here just in time for our night away.....

Anyway.....Forgot to take my tablet on time last night and the spinning started - soon sorts itself out once I take the tablet but I was a bit dented that the symptoms are there...starting t get slightly concerned about getting back to work next week now. Play it by ear....no pun intended

OS wise........ well I have left over corned beef and onion in gravy mixed with mashed potato to make a pie with and yesterday I was all set to do some baking today but at the minute I feel like I could go back to bed which isnt like me!

How you all have a good day

    Good morning :D

NPM Big hugs to you hon hope that the assesment goes as well as it can xxx

BargainBird I remember well the joys of watching & cheering along x country races when my lot were in primary school :D Have fun & hope that DD enjoys herself!

Not many plans here apart from going to work & making stuffed baked potatoes with beans or salad for tea. I have to pick up some bits in Bury so will do that at lunchtime. Flylady list will get done partly this morning & partly later on.

My Mum is at the hospital for a camera into her bladder (sorry if TMI at this time of the morning :o) at 5pm tonight. She's had a major waterworks infection for the past month or so & has been poorly & run down. She's passed a lot of blood hence the camera. Hope that they sort it out for her soon.

Some big news: DS1 (who you may remember is DD's byfriend who was thrown out by his adoptive parents aged 16 in Jan 2009) has decided to join the army :T He has the first part of his test on Monday morning. We're very proud of him and will encourage him all the way, so will DD. It has not always been plain sailing with him & mashing everyone together has been a nightmare at times but we've got there eventually and all get along well :) His parents still only have sporadic contact with him, fortnightly at best, but he's coping with lots of support. I don't dwell on them too much as I don't want to get angry, which I do :o

Anyway I've rambled on enough now so I'll go and check the Flylady list out. Have a good day all & hugs if you need one xxx
