    Hi everyone,

Why is it that I can read the thread and think that I must comment on this and that but by the time I come to write it's all gone - how do you do it Diva?

Anyway from what I remember - Taplady, I hope your DS's gat sorted with jobs, it's such a worry isn't it. I'm glad you're happy that DS is moving home, I know several people who complain if their children want to move back, I wouldn't. In fact DD is moving back in when she gets back from her travels and I'm really looking forward to it, not that she'll be here long knowing DD. She is moving on to Bangkok today, only 10 weeks till she's home. I definitiely won't be watching the programme advertised about twenty somethings who've died abroad!!!

Lowesy, I don't know Edenbridge but I do know its Town Clerk who is a lovely woman and the Town Council seems to be quite dynamic. I'm sure the staff there will be happy to help if you want any information.

NPM, hugs, I hope it helps that somany of us are thinking about you. I hope the sessions help with Noah's anger.

I'm waiting in for a delivery today and wrestling with my new mobile. I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to phones, I just want one on which I can make and receive calls - texts are only done under duress and the camera the same. My old one died so I am now entering all my numbers into the contacts. Luckily there aren't many.

Good to hear from you Haribo, just the occasional call in is nice. I know that you don't like revealing too many details but could you let us know what field your new job is in?

I've gone on a bit this morinign so I'll slink off now - you can tell I'm still signed off from work.

Thanks for the advice re rail tickets peeps :T

We'll be coming from King's Cross in London so it's a fair distance. How long does the bus take from Middlesborough kezlou? We're planning to use that bus to get along to Staithes and Hinderwell so I can tend the family graves (a little morbid, but hey :o).

Has anyone ever heard of/ used Rail Easy.co.uk? The prices on there are very reasonable, just wondering whether it's a too good to be true jobby?

    TIA xx

ETA thanks snoozer for the info re Edenbridge :)

    Morning all!

Have a pet paw printed kitchen floor that needs a good scrub today, but actually smiling about it as I love the new floor sooooooo much! Also need to tackle more washing and run the carpet shampooer over the hall carpet. And need to find out what the meal plan holds for today, if it needs to be done in the sc I need to get a wiggle on else they'll die of starvation - or so they threaten if dinner isn't ready when they are!

Parent's evening for dd3 later, and dd1 and dd2 have haircuts booked, then a whizz back home for me to get changed, going out for an Abba night for a friend's 40th birthday, quite excited! My neighbour dropped in some sparkly pink baubles this morning with instructions to turn them into earrings, apparently we all have to wear them, think they'll look great with my glow in the dark false eyelashes lol!

Not caught up yet, going to grab a cuppa and then have a catch up before I get moving! Hugs to all who need them xx

Me again:o, feel like such a moaning old moo:(.
Thank you for all your kind comments and PMs it really does mean a lot.
OH saw the DR yesterday about the headaches and they have referred him to a headache clinic. He rang again this morning as he has been up all night with it and no painkillers are working. They have advised him to increase his Amitryptilline to 50mg at night rather than 10mg and I have to go and pick the prescription up this morning. it seems rather a big jump to me...I know the top dose as headache prophylaxis is 75mg nocte but from 10 to 50 makes me think he will be zonked out tomorrow:o.
I have just been to the co op and got 2 large chickens reduced and 2 packs pork chops. Am going to totally re do the meal plan for next couple of weeks and try to exist without spending much:rotfl:.
I am just trying to decide if I should portion one of the chickens when raw then freeze for cooking or to cook it now and freeze the portioned up meat iyswim.......not sure which way would give me the most meals:cool:
As for the 40th:eek:. We were going away for weekend but decided we couldnt afford it, so we were going to go for a meal then decided we couldnt afford it, so i had put a little bit of money aside and was going to get some foody treats but now can`t even do that......so am having the usual party tea we have to have with DS for any bday, am making a cake tomorrow with sandwiches etc then he is going to his dads. The Saturday was when Oh and I were going to celebrate my 40th so I am now going to have egg and chips for my birthday;). I have got a bottle of pink bubbly I already had tucked away and a box of nice chocs so that is what I am having.
I am trying not to look too deeply into the Tourettes thing until it becomes a problem as it will depress me. I hope these workshops are useful to learn about controlling the anger.
My cold is a little better today but has left me feeling listless really.
Bitsy thats how mine started with a sore throat.....stock up on the cold remedy now:eek:
Taplady re your DS. I have a friend whose son has just started Uni in Sept. He has Aspergers and has the usual difficulties associated with that. his uni have very good support and pastoral/special needs care and he is doing really well. I don`t know how you would look into it for DS but I just wanted to say don`t shut the door on the idea just yet;). Obviously I don`t know your DS`s circumstances...I know my DS would not cope but just wanted you to know that it can be done for some:D
SG great news about DS1 you should be very proud of him and yourself:T
  • Hi NPM, a celebration is what you make it :o This Christmas day my GF mum was in hosp dying with MND, after our visit we had mince pies, pringles and luke warm coffee for Christmas day lunch in the hosp car park, and it was a really nice time together. Have a really nice day and enjoy the atmosphere and the company of folk you like and love. :)
  • Morning All,

Firstly welcome along to Mum of Lewis, hope you enjoy posting your daily musings with us here!

Thanks for all you positive thoughts yesterday re. BIL, you really are a lovely lot! :grouphug:

He is being transferred to a different hospital today and is getting the specfic care he needs, but the downside is that he'll be in there for a month, maybe more, and we'll not be able to contact him for the first week or so at the very least.

I managed to make some sort of start on the house when the kids were tucked up last night, the lounge is looking semi-decent and the washer has been on. It's something positive at least :T

Chicken sandwiches for lunch today, then I'm off to see DD's school performance this afternoon and then my lovely friends and I are off out to dinner tonight :j. Hence there'll not be too much activity in the way of OS going on this evening, but I'm sure I'll be able to rustle up a loaf whilst I'm out :p

Non-OS for a minute: In my eternal quest for domestic bliss, I managed to find an app for my phone that works along a strikingly similar vein to the flylady routine. There's little stars you can award yourself each day and it saves me going on the computer all the time (which can prove very distracting :rotfl:).

Hope everybody has a great day!

    Morning all :)

Hope the physio goes ok, sistercas.
Hope your mum's appointment goes well, sunnygirl.
Hopefully they will be able to find out what's causing your OH's headaches NPM. It is quite a jump for the amitriptyline but fingers crossed it will help

DDs aren't well :( They went to Oxford over the weekend and must have picked up a bug, so we haven't done much these last few days. [They also came back rather more grown up than I would have liked, but that's a whole other story :(:D]

At some point I am going to need a new hip, but the hospital feel I'm too young at the moment. I don't think they can leave me struggling, but they won't want to do anything until it's really bad, as new hips don't last that long and I will end up needing more surgery :(

Today I'm planning on making bread pudding. Both my mum and my friend picked up some shopping for me so I have a few loaves of bread :D and no room in the freezer.

I'm waiting on a 'graze' box to be delivered today. The usual cost is £2.99 but I saw on bobsfreestuffforum that the first box was free and the second box is half price, after which I can cancel. £2.99 seems quite expensive but I will see what's in the box and the quantity of it. At least this one is free :D

Have a good day all and (((HUGS))) to those in need :)

  • Pipkin I got a Graze box when they were a free offer with Delicious mag.:D They were quite nice but no way would I pay full money for them:eek:
