NPM - I tend to joint a chicken and then freeze, as it gives a bit more flexibility with dishes when I come to cook it. Loving the idea of egg & chips & pink fizz! We're having my birthday meal this weekend - OH is threatening to cook a game suet pudding followed by caramelised oranges, accompanied by the bottle of fizz we were given when we took delivery of my new car in January
Lowesy - I love the Whitby area, don't forget to count the steps to make sure there are still 199 and please go to the Magpie Cafe for fish & chips!!
Pipkin - Same here, I got a free one followed by a half price one from Delicious mag, but wouldn't pay for them!

NPM - sounds like you're having a very tough time right now, sending lots of positive thoughts and big hugs your way, no fab advice other than what a friend quoted at me a few weeks ago "when you're going through hell, keep going". I hope your dh improves and that you get help finding ways to cope with Noah - that doesn't sound quite right, but I hope you know what I mean, everytime you think you've conquered one thing there always seems to be another with children. I also hope that you manage to celebrate your birthday in some way, even if it's just a bottle of wine with friends xxx

Sunny - well done to ds1, you have done an amazing job taking him into your family and making him a part of it, I hope that he achieves his ambition. And his family make me cross when I think about them too, so I can only imagine how angry you must feel! xxx

Kathy - hope that the renovation has some speedier than anticipated bits too! xxx

Redruby - how is dd after the door incident? Hope that the black eye never appeared, they can be soooo hard to accessorize! xxx

Sistercas - hope physio helps your shoulder, was bad enough when I pulled a muscle in mine a few weeks ago, so you have my sympathy xxx

Meal plan has gone walkies, but I have mince in the fridge, so I'm guessing that was involved somewhere! Think I shall do meatballs, quick and easy and the kids haven't had them for a while! Plus they're quick and can just be left to do their own thing in the moski!

Need to order dd1's bday pressie, she wants a gumball machine, not any one though, oh no, she wants one as tall as her! Suspect I may fall over when I find out the price and that she mayn't get exactly what she wants!

Have a good day all xx

...Non-OS for a minute: In my eternal quest for domestic bliss, I managed to find an app for my phone that works along a strikingly similar vein to the flylady routine. There's little stars you can award yourself each day and it saves me going on the computer all the time

Can you point me in the right direction for this app please?!

Hi NPM, a celebration is what you make it :o This Christmas day my GF mum was in hosp dying with MND, after our visit we had mince pies, pringles and luke warm coffee for Christmas day lunch in the hosp car park, and it was a really nice time together. Have a really nice day and enjoy the atmosphere and the company of folk you like and love. :)

    A lovely post, stroppyjock :)

Sorry to read of all you're going through NPM.

As others have said, you will get there with your DS and I do hope you enjoy your birthday, however you spend it. Being with the ones you love is the best part though, so it doesn't matter if it doesn't go how you had originally thought it would.

Pipkin I got a Graze box when they were a free offer with Delicious mag.:D They were quite nice but no way would I pay full money for them:eek:

I did think along those lines. NPM.

I'm looking forward to today's delivery and will let next week's go through. Just hope it isn't a really small box :D

Stroppyjock, that is one of the loveliest things I've read on here for a while (and there have been plenty to choose from).

Just having a cuppa and feeling sorry for myself. Sore tum TOTM:(

    Morning peeps

cold and wet here atm, i had two very muddy doggies earlier but they are both now clean and snoozing away happilly :D lots of doggies were out for their morning walk in the park so it has been a very sociable morning for them and for me too.

GemmaBuckle - Any chance of the chicken liver cake recipe please? i`m sure that my houndies would love it.

I`ve checked on all my seedlings this morning and given them a drop of water, there were two more seeds which have germinated so they are now in tiny pots on the windowsill :j i think that i`m going to plant some more corn as only 5 of the seeds have actually germinated and it was so nice last year that i`m planting more this year.

Keep seeing the black bamboo mentioned, i love this stuff and have been wondering for the last couple of months if i can squeeze some in anywhere, its not looking likely atm but i live in hope.

Sistercas - There was a washing machine on freecycle a couple of days ago, it may have gone now but they do keep popping up so it may be worth your while to register. If you do make sure to change your options to "daily digest" though otherwise you will have hundreds of emails every day :D

All the ingredients are in the slowcooker ready to switch on overnight tonight, it will be one of Weezl74`s recipies for tomato dahl, i`ve not made this for ages and it was lovely so quite looking forward to it.

I`d best make a move and sort out the kitchen before my shower - late shift again today, one down six to go :p

(((HUGS))) for all the snifflers and poorlies, have a good day peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    morning all...

hugs to those that need them esp NPM...

Pipkin - the length of time the hip will last shouldn't be a factor, it'll improve the quality of your life, and that is waht they should consider.... i think they last about 10 years, and although the surgery is big, you will feel soooo much better after you've got one... (acording to NICE guidance they cannot deny you due to your age...)

i am at the moment torn, i have my sisters birthday prezzie (tickets to the RHPS) and she has a slipped disc, and therefore no chance at all of going but i don't know what i shoud do... i think it's incredibly mean to use them, but our other sister thinks it's a waste not to.... hmmmmm

i have a load of cleaning to do as i have guests tomorrow, and want to try to see the doctor.

    Morning all :)

Hope the physio goes ok, sistercas.
Hope your mum's appointment goes well, sunnygirl.
Hopefully they will be able to find out what's causing your OH's headaches NPM. It is quite a jump for the amitriptyline but fingers crossed it will help

DDs aren't well :( They went to Oxford over the weekend and must have picked up a bug, so we haven't done much these last few days. [They also came back rather more grown up than I would have liked, but that's a whole other story :(:D]

At some point I am going to need a new hip, but the hospital feel I'm too young at the moment. I don't think they can leave me struggling, but they won't want to do anything until it's really bad, as new hips don't last that long and I will end up needing more surgery :(

Today I'm planning on making bread pudding. Both my mum and my friend picked up some shopping for me so I have a few loaves of bread :D and no room in the freezer.

I'm waiting on a 'graze' box to be delivered today. The usual cost is £2.99 but I saw on bobsfreestuffforum that the first box was free and the second box is half price, after which I can cancel. £2.99 seems quite expensive but I will see what's in the box and the quantity of it. At least this one is free :D

Have a good day all and (((HUGS))) to those in need :)

What is a 'graze box'? I'm most intrigued :o
