Do electric showers legally have to be installed by an electrician? Our trition has just lost the will to live and were going to see tomorrow about another one but never realised they have to be installed though OH was going to DIY it

    :jHappy Friday Everyone:j

BB - sorry to hear about your boiler Is none of it covered by your house insurance?, I'm glad to hear your feeling a bit better

All I know about showers is that I had to completely rip out the one in my old house (floor, wall, ceiling - everything) and install a new one. Thankfully I had a team of very good men to do it for me. Think it cost me about £800 all in. Hope you get yours sorted easily Victory.

My day today was ok. I've been quite tired probably because I was flat out at work the past two days and just couldn't wait to get off this afternoon. I ususally go to curves after work on Fridays but it was just too nice so I packed the kid into the car, called on a friend with a dog and went to the beach. Poor DS fell into the water after the dog and got SOAKED.. I'm a terrible mother - I did nothing but laugh. Anyway he had a good time and I'd packed towels and a change of clothes so other than being cold for a bit, he enjoyed himself. Of course a trip to the sea side MUST be followed by a trip to the chip shop (I'm sure there's an ancient law or something), so haven't been all that healthy today.

Well, there's a couple of good sunny days ahead of us where I can be good and eat salad so it'll all balance out .

    Evening everyone.

I really like the idea of homemade baked beans but doubt my kids would go for them. Mind you if I didn't tell them I had made them they might give them a go. I think a trip to the shops is in order!

Marion. The free salad maker sounds good but I can't help wonder how it can be worth the money they are asking for it.

Sarymclary Hope your knee feels better.

BB Eeek about the boiler! Hope it didn't do too much damage (apart from your pocket)!

    Hooray!! It's the weekend!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Well done scots on the beans---i will get my receipe when the wife gets home from her 14 hour day--and makes my dinner lol--not really i treated her to chicken and salad earlier---are the roast spit chickens really as bad as they taste good??--i did peel off all the skin!!
Paid my money and joined the gym---had an arguement on the way back because my wife wanted to go for a burger king--i am beginning to wonder if she will take loosing weight seriously---she quizzed the girls at the sports centre if they ate burger kings and they said yes!!--BUT they all smoked as well and kept slim! my wife has just given up smoking and cant see the link between this and her constant evening binges on salty nuts!-she has gained a moderate amount of weight for the first time in her life.--we walked to the gym so got my 5000 steps in but wasnt a pleasant walk on the way back!!
İ drank some green tea and it wasnt as bad as i imagined--it does tend to'make me go' which is disconcerting when your trying to teach and want to trot!!
Can anyone tell me what the recommended amount of coffee is per day?--i drink it with full cream milk --today i had only 2 but i can easily get up to 8 to 10!!--i can adapt to taking it black if the milk is the problem--i dont have a sweet tooth despite this caffeine intake-i dont drink or smoke so i have to have a fix of something lol
hope youve had a good day and having a good friday night?

    Hi d1amo

I think spit chicken should be ok - doesn't the fat drip off with that style of cooking? and taking the skin off is a good idea.

As for coffee, it's pretty low cal but the milk adds fat and calories so to drink it black would be better. I know some people say not to drink
caffiene at all when dieting but if it's your only vice I wouldn't worry about 2 cups a day (but not 8!) I'm the same with tea, can't go without it, I like fruit teas too though so I try to alternate so i dont drink too much normal tea. Peppermint tea is lovely, by the way, and v good for digestion like green tea. (any tea will make you need to wee a lot though!!)

    :)

Victory--if its a completely new installation like my new shower was you have to get a certificate of installation from a registered sparky--a real electrician will be very hot on it to cover his arm!!--the wiring was all in place for him and connected it to the fuse box and just tested it - gave me a cert for 100 squid--bladdy eu!
Does dieting make you dream more??--its 4am and i have had my 6hours but for the second night running i have been woken by dreams--ones i could remember which is most unlike me!--the most recent was my ex wife chasing me for more money! if its not the dieting this must be the right kind of forum to mention such nightmares lol
On the subject of the bean receipe or connected to it i can highly recommend Turkish cuisine for a healthy diet -if you can get hold of a good cook book that sees past the kebabs- most turks dont eat much meat and there is a whole array of tasty dishes based around easily found veg--(in the uk)--they have lots of dishes for pulses and eat a lot of rice or natural yoghurt---they are also big on nuts to supplement their diet- the Greek diet was bestowed on them by the Turkish!
-i am just a bad example because i am lazy and dont move much!!(coupled with the odd beer too much)--i will try to get my wife to post some receipes if anyones interested??---i have eradicated the beer and i have started on the exercise -so with a good diet the world is my stuffed aubergine!-i might even learn to cook the turkish way!!
its 4,15am should i wake Mrs De to do a posting??!!!guess not --so i hope you all arise eventually and have a lovely day De1amo

If you drink coffee with or just after eating the insulin bounce effect will be a lot lower.

I love fruit teas, the peppermint tea sounds like a good idea, I will get some :T

Eric - I love your motivational poster technique of GB. Can we expect this to be a regular post? If so, could you make the next pin-up a bit more muscular please, I like them like that, although I am lucky enough to have my own live pin-up at home :D and yes, I probably should be much more motivated to get fitter/slimmer with him about, but he just makes me drool, and then I eat!!

Im sure we could arrange something, if you loose 2lbs in a week :D :j
