  • Hi

I'm new. I shall weigh tommorrow and will be following SW although too skint to join up so will be using an old book and my Mother's scales!

My weak points (apart from wine!) is that I have terrible sweet tooth. SO any tips to help that would be good. I am thinking about trying the frozen grapes trick. Although I had better get some sensodyne first.

Good luck to you all x :)

HI peeps: lots more newbies to welcome:j.

A sts for me please fred.

Just a flying visit by me tonight as I have a very full day tomorrow and an unexpected funeral to go to in Plymouth on Thurs, which is a huge trek but the person is worth it (and was 86 and it is a merciful release for them, they have not been at all well), but it feels important to be there. So won't be around until fri probably.

Delighted to hear the wedding in on Seren.

And well done de1amo on reaching yr target:T:T
And well done missy on a New PB:T. One second is like 1lb: every one counts:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

well done on 4,1 (i think) i would be estatic if i ever lost such an amount but hey ho--i felt so full yesterday by eating all my calories but have more energy to get to the gym today. No footy today so no excuse or malingering--3 hours of cardio and strength work and the wife has got me some pure lean beef mince--she has got the message i cant stop losing weight without some protein or just food in general!!

Looks like you're doing the same as me - I can't afford the membership so I am using an old book, and getting lots of help from the guys on the SW forum: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2413699

I have a terrible sweet tooth too, but after a few days of not having sweets it definately gets better. I tried a jelly sweet last night and spat it out as it tasted far too sugary. Not like me at all, used to love sugar.

Today I am SO excited to report a 3lb loss!!!! :rotfl::j

(despite having an enormous bowl of spag bol and 4 rich tea biscuits last night!)

This is the biggest loss I've ever seen in a week and i am really pleased. I've only been doing SW for 4 days and already it's making sense to me - I'm eating much more fruit and veg and a lot less sugar and treats. I'm also not banning anything, so I don't feel like i'm losing out. And i've been trying new classes at the gym and going for little runs/jogs while the sun is out.

    Today's plan is:
Brekkie - Raisin wheats, skim milk, tea
Snack - Ryvita, laughing cow, cucumber
Lunch - Pasta, tuna, rocket, celery, cucumber, 1 tbsp light mayo
snack - corn on the cob
Dinner - not sure as we're going out but if we end up in the kebab shop I'll get chicken and salad

Well done everyone else who has seen a loss or stayed the same. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

    B. :)

its only 1.86kgs which i am sure you lost more in 1 week (and your a little guy, im huge and i had a BMI of over 60), and i was loosing 3 - 4 lbs every week sitting on my @ss, so adding 12 hours of gym work i had a deficit of over 30k cals to get the same loss as doing nothing .. so yeah it is beyond annoying ...

mind you poking 125kgs of damp sand through a little hole in the slam man with a stick was a fun way to spend 2 hours last night ... all extra calories thou :)

    img0177j.jpg

the fact i actually went out, bought 5 25kg bags of sand, carried it upstairs (fun with a heart condition) and then spent 2 hours stick'in it into the base shows a huge change in me from 6 months ago when i would just sit on my @ss and grave crap food whilst watching tv

Hi Candyapple, that's exactly what I did when I started to lose weight and it really worked, I got to within half a stone of my target without following any plan or counting a single calorie! Good luck!

Welcome GinMummy, my weakness used to be crisps and I decided to cut them out completely while losing weight. At the time I thought it would be temporary, but I've never really gone back to them and only have them occasionally now (and then only certain ones, e.g. baked). Don't know if that's any help re: weaknesses. Hope it goes well on SW for you :).

Seren best of luck with the 1lb/week, you sound so happy :j (lol @ counting the days, hours & minutes!) I was never scared to run but I do remember a few posts after my early attempts saying "I can't do it!!!!" and "I'll never be a runner!!!!" :p;) I'll never forget how tough I found it at first, so I can still identify with anyone who's starting out. Let us know how it goes if you run today! :D

BB sorry to hear about your loss, take care.

Congrats to everyone who's had a good result this week! :T Keep up the good work!
