oh that's just too much info eric :rotfl:
Had a pretty good day here yesterday. Vigorous exercise cleaning the house for my German visitors arriving. I say good in the loosest sense of the word. Didn't eat any rubbish, but had made 2 big pots of macaroni cheese for their arrival. Something that could just be thrown in the oven and served easily.
They did bring me a present of chocolates tho  and better, i didn't eat them :T4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
STS for me this week thanks:D I have a 60th birthday party to go to soon and so risked it with OH to go into town yesterday and try on some dresses as I know he hates shopping, going very well until I pointed out the new contour dresses they do, he said I was too fat to carry it off and too old:eek: what he meant was apparently:rotfl:is that the contour dress hugs and it will hug me in the wrong place, my pouch belly:eek: best not draw attention to it and that I am older than someone else that would be wearing the dress:rotfl:0

Hiya everyone,
Sorry I have not been around, but my mum had a operation on her neck the other day so I have been tending to her. I am happy to report a 2lb gain. (Yes a gain, from the last time I post but really it is a lost) but since I chickened out on posting last week, I thought I would be honest and so balancing things out I am now only 2lb heavier rather than like 6lbs heavier. :j
Basically I have become very strict with myself, because I have realised that I non hunger eat and I can't control myself when I have something bad (cravings), I just don't bother eating biscuits/cakes etc anymore cos I kno lack the self control. Also I have minimised snacks- to really healthy stuff like salad, low fat yogurt etc. I think I will stick to this military attitude for the next month to see how I do!
Anyway take care all and I will be back soon (and catch up on all that I have missed)

Its more than just self control, our horrible little brains gang up on us to make us feel good when we eat high fat, sugary foods, cheese and chocolate so that we eat even more.
Hope your mum recovers quickly0 -

A size 10 is very trim and slim and when I was 25, 20 yrs ago () that was the ultimate goal for women: size 8 for an adult was an unheard of goal.
Aye but a size 10 was a completely different size 20 years ago! The average dress pattern in a size 10 had a waist 4.25" smaller than one the same size and style today. Urgh I just feel too big, but I don't seem to be able to do anything about it! Still following Harcombe, no move still although apparently it can plateau for the first few weeks. Willing to give it tme to see as at least I'm not as hungry and guilty as I get with calorie counting.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

WI early this week as I have a very early (6am) start tomorrow.
Happy to report a -1LB LOSS, despite a trip to Pizza Express on Saturday (birthday treat for moi!) where I freely indulged myself in 3 courses plus wineI chose one of those pizzas with a hole in the middle that they then fill up with salad (a Leggate??) supposedly 300 cals less than a normal pizza - so why did they smother the salad with dressing????
Anyhoo, Day 2 at my new job and I think some of my loss this week may be down to nervous tension (and the restaurant being 4 floors down!!)£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Wow that's interesting, I didn't realise dress sizes had changed! Like BB I can also remember when a 10 was seen as the ideal figure (and the Miss Worlds etc where they all seemed to be 36,24,36!)Maybe I'm just being unrealistic trying to get my 19/20 year old body back at 25.
Dinah I'm a size 8 and this is the smallest I've been since well before age 19 (and I definitely wasn't overweight in my teens & 20's) so it's certainly achievable, but mine is due to exercise not diet. I don't think it would be realistic if I wasn't so active - the calories to maintain would be too low for me long-term.
