Vix - if that's what a Vauxhall can do for you, they've certainly changed over the years! I think I'd best stick with my renault for now though, because I think it'd freak the kids out if I got all 'sexual' on the schoolrun!

Well, it's a boring old STS for me this week, which pretty much sums up my efforts too. I've had a few indulgences, but then I've been unimpressed, uninterested and demotivated by my food recently too. I'm just grateful it's not been a gain.

Still waiting for my Harcombe book to arrive. The Amazon seller won't be getting great feedback at this rate. I've weaned myself onto caffeine free tea this week. OH was convinced they wouldn't make any difference, then did a bit of research online, and was staggered to see how much caffeine was in our cups of tea each day (about the same as a strong coffee, as we like a good brew), so now he's having the decaf in the evenings to help him sleep better.

Good luck with the weigh-ins guys!

BTW Eric, I believe when we have a cold we can produce something silly like 2 pints of mucus an hour, which we end up swallowing the majority of. It's all good stuff though, because it's helping to flush the bad bacteria through our system. Our immune system is what makes you feel ill, not the virus itself.

Wow that's interesting, I didn't realise dress sizes had changed! Like BB I can also remember when a 10 was seen as the ideal figure (and the Miss Worlds etc where they all seemed to be 36,24,36!)

Dinah I'm a size 8 and this is the smallest I've been since well before age 19 (and I definitely wasn't overweight in my teens & 20's) so it's certainly achievable, but mine is due to exercise not diet. I don't think it would be realistic if I wasn't so active - the calories to maintain would be too low for me long-term :).

I know I keep thinking of you Missy whenever my voice in my head says 'you're striving for the impossible - chuck it all in and go eat mini eggs'! Sadly I can't exercise atm (see the knee surgeon tomorrow) but hoping to be able to by the summer. A friend asked me last night if I'd like to go to martial arts with her when I'm fixed and I jumped at it - I did kickboxing for years and I loved it (and was a waif at the time!) so as soon as the knee is fixed I'm signing up. It's strange, all my goals for when my knee is fixed are very exercise based - I want to start hill climbing and horse riding again - both things I gave up as my knee stopped working properly over the last few years, and yet I still didn't twig something was up with it!

Weigh in today and I can report a 0.4lb gain since last weeks mamoth loss. I'm close to loosing it with Harcombe, I just can't ever work out what to eat and I'm starting to find that I just don't eat just to take away the hassle of trying to come up with something carby that isn't doused in passata to give it some moisture. So far today I've eaten 1/3 of a pineapple. I don't want to get back to the place I was at when I was 17ish and would go a week where a whole days diet was two apples and half a piece of dry wholemeal bread, so I think I need to find a way to make this more interesting.

Thanks Missy - when we started out we thought we might last for 6-8 months, then decided to make it a year, which still wasn't long enough and we were actually away for 15 months. :)

    Me jealous - you bet I am !!!!! bigcry.gif

How come my daily drive to work doesn't do the same as Vix's - maybe just as well as I work with guys

Dinah You could be the very person to give me an honest answer - my OH used to go to KungFu classes and has been pestering me for years to start going to a new class with him. I don't do violence / fighting and I'm fed up telling him this, but he tells me that it'll get me really fit and keep me safe - do you think I'm being stupid?

Go Eric - looks like you're back on track

1.5lb loss for me please Fred :j

    Hi peeps
forgot to weigh in this morning - woke very early wih migraine so had to eat to take tablets and the after efects always give me the munchies to. So I'll so for a STS please fred.

Dinah - I know the clothes sizes from the 50's were different but didn't realise from only 20 yrs ago. I think missy is right, that she does a lot of exercise for fun and most days of the week
Are there any toning activities you can do, like pilates, tummy curls that would drop you a dress size round your waist while not effecting your weight/food intake?

Every sympathy with your knee - my employer is struggling with a major knee prob at the mo and she loves running/cycling and gardening.

Well done fi, pepop, eric & hezza - glad the 1st week is going well hezza:T

I don't know how many oldies of the forum remember 'delly' who was a regular here a few yrs ago? Well she's coming to stay with me for the weekend:j for a little holiday. Really looking forward to it.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I like you forgot to weigh in this morning BB. My guests were heading up to inverness today. Rather them than me with the weather. So had to get up early to get them on the road. Took DS to school, sat down on sofa to catch up on TV I've missed with having guests and fell asleep until 3pm.

Gonna head off for a bath soon, so will weigh in then.

Well done to everyone who's posted up a happy result so far! :j

Lois at least you missed the worst of the winter's weather we've had, hopefully this is the tail end of it now! *fingers crossed* I know what you mean about going out on the bike, there have been days I've really had to force myself. I'm NEVER setting myself a 1000km cycling challenge over the winter months again!!! :rotfl:

I didn't realise you were waiting for knee surgery Dinah, good luck with that, and I like the sound of your plans for when it's sorted! I hope you can also find a way to make Harcombe work for you, or if not try something else because no way is 1/3 of a pineapple enough for a whole morning!

BB hope you're feeling better now, I remember Delly so say hi from me, and both of you have a lovely weekend. I'm sure you've got some good plans!
