Just read the quote and saw the problem...I did mean the formula one car race, Would be very odd requiring a doctor to be stood in front of me to motivate me to iron.
Got a lot of the ironing done, but have now washed some more clothes! Wish it burnt off calories.0 -
Got 76% in my last OU assignment.
Vixstar - The same thing happened to us too. OH turned the tv on and the Politics show was about to start with David Cameron followed by the Scottish Politics show with Gordon Brown then we were both gonna watch the GP. The presenter then said but first lets cut to the news headlines with showed the highlights of both interviews and finished with "and Jenson Button won the GP". That saved a few hours of sitting in front of the TV
Just splurted my tea over the computer - granny "grand pricks" :rotfl::rotfl:Is that something to do with your inapropriate behaviour????0 -
bah been feeling poo with this cold virus, not a put you in bed one just one where you are bunged up with a sore throat and feel miserable
not trained since friday and will probably wait till wed depending on how i feel
had a good week thou, we have passed another milestone, namely beating my previous weight loss attempt (number 64) and done it 4 weeks faster and i started from 12.4 lbs heavier as well
next target should be hit in 2 or 3 weeks, target after that is 17lbs away which will take me to just plain old morbidly obese so 6 weeks, still super motivated
:j:j:j:j:j:j
right off to blow me nose
AGAIN :mad:0 -
Eric congratulations on reaching your milestone. Good luck with the next one. :T0

Just got back from a very disappointing weigh in where I gained 2 lbs
What I can't understand is that out of 21 meals a week, I was perfect for 20 of them and naughty for one meal (chinese buffet - very nice too). How can one bad meal make someone gain 2 lbs????? I am seriously annoyed at myself.
I have now read the Harcombe Diet book and it just isn't for me - the thought of never having bread with cheese or curry with rice or spag bol again just puts me off! I think SW has the right idea with the EE plan and it does fit very well with family life. So back to writing everything down that passes through my lips - I suspect I will find I was having a few extra syns here and there without really registering it in my head:mad:
Sigh

I could believe a pig out on Chinese could be upwards of 2k cals, but to put on 2lbs you have to eat 1000 cals a day too much for 7 days !!!!
I would suggest going back to basics and logging everything you eat and how many calories it is, something is going a miss here. Maybe post a few days results here.
Either that or your scales are inaccurate and giving random readings or your not sticking to a constant weighing system. A mug of drink alone can add 0.6lb !!
Ban cheese, sounds horrid (its my big addiction) its just too loaded with calories and is addictive, you have to watch bread and pasta as well.
Its a pain in the butt logging and weighing everything but its the only way to be sure, but it does teach you portion sizes, although mine are still pretty big (just no crap)
Yesterday we had the family around for a roast dinner, I ate 300g of chicken breast (no skin or fat) (2 fillets approx, we had 2 for 1 chickens) 500g of potatoes in the actifry with 10g of light olive oil and 500g of mixed steamed veg, comes in about 1000 cals which is pretty big meal, I avoided the roast potatoes, roast parsnips in maple syrup, the mini sausages in bacon, the stuffing, the pork sausage meat balls, the gravy made from the juices (loaded with fat) the sugar loaded apple crumble with double cream as it would have been 2600 calories ...

Beanie - Congratulations on 76%, that's a fabulous achievement.
Eric - Here's hoping your cold is better soon. It does put a spanner in the works with exercising, but if you look after yourself, it will be soon gone. Congratulations on reaching your target, and here's looking forward to the next one!
Granny - Retirement sounds fun!
Vixstar - I sat there puzzled as you like wondering what your doctor had to do with your ironing? I woke up to watch the last 5 laps... OH had been watching it in bed from the start, but with the sound down (my snoring woke him up! another one with blocked sinus/nose probs). I've made it a rule that if I want to watch it later, I avoid all media like TV/radio/internet. They always ruin it for you.
Vix - I know what you mean about Harcombe (although your version, Haircomb, makes me think I'd get a fur ball doing it!) and it does sound very similar to Atkins, or the You Are What You Eat type diets, but I'm looking for a kick-start diet, to put me back on track, and wean me back off of carbs and sugars, which I know are my downfall. As Eric has found, now he's steered clear from the things that triggered his eating, he's been well on target.
Marion - Sometimes it seems really unfair, when you've been trying to keep close tabs on what you've been eating. It sounds like you're trying to be realistic about the reasons why. Have you been less active in the past week? 2lb does seem quite a bit for one meal.
Well, I was hoping the book would have arrived by now, but it hasn't, so the Harcombe for me is still not happening. I have a tentative arrangement for a meal out on Friday for a curry, but I'm thinking that even if I've started the Harcombe, having the tandoori or tikka chicken with salad will be fine. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Thanks for the advice Eric, it all sounds good except I don't count calories! I go to Slimming World where the only foods I have to limit are the fats including dairy (but not eggs) and the breads and cereals. I follow the Extra Easy plan which means I would never have more than 1 ounce of cheese a day and that would only be if I hadn't had any milk. Bread is almost never eaten and if I have cereal it would be once a day and only 1 ounce! Meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, rice, pasta and potatoes are free goods and can be eaten in unlimited amounts. I have lost 6 stone on this diet so far but when I fall off the wagon it is a pretty big drop:o
Again thanks for caring:A

Hi sarymclary, it would be diffiucult for me to be less active than I already am:rotfl::rotfl:! In fact if I was any less active I would be comatose! I have severe arthritis in both my knees which makes walking very painful indeed so I tend to sit - a lot! The most exercise I get is cooking the main meal and I time my painkillers very carefully for that period of time:(
Love
