Hugs to you Beanie - somehow seeing things or saying things that you already really know makes them more unbearable.
Maybe we manage to ignore, to some extent, what we know and then have to face up. You're a strong woman and when you've had your cry you'll be coping again as you have in the past.
I haven't been in hiding, BTW, just coping with quite a lot of life at the moment. My 'part time working semi retirment' isn't quite working out as planned - the school is quite needy and takes more time than it should. I'm having some treatment on my hip next week which should improve it considerably but has some short term unpleaasnt side effects. Family problems too - nothing I'd want to talk about at the moment though.
On a brighter note --- I went to see the lovely BB at the weekend at her exhibition. Did you know that she is a famous and exhibited artist?
DMV ow-ow-ow! painkillers might be a good idea tonight?0 -
Granny ~ Thank you for the wise words as usual.

i have had IBS for many many years, but no thats not it0 -
wow!
i'm really pleased to say i lost 4lbs this week, i wasn't sure if that was a good weightloss but i'm guessing from the table i just read, its ok!
i joined the lose weight thread aeons ago but never had the motivation to achieve my goals. I have kept an eye on you guys since though and want to thank you for your tips and motivation!
I decided two weeks ago to get back on the healthy living thread, i'm so busy I struggle to find the time to be honest and my body has really suffered as a result, my legs and arms are flabby, ive got extra weight on my back, bum, thighs and tum. Not good.
But i've decided to do several things - eat less, move more, and keep a track of what im doing to help motivate myself!
So two weeks ago i started by exercising more - swimming, wii fit, stuff like that, and then a week ago after being shocked by the 'obese' category on the wii fit, to start watching my food too. I must admit, old habits die hard, i live alone so portion sizes are probably too big, i crave sweet things and find it hard to keep myself on the healthy stuff.
I've been really suprised by myself in the last week though, exercising every other day or more, calorie counting (which i think is the easiest way for me to limit myself, stocking the house with healthy foods/snacks - crabsticks and beetroot have been a life saver.
It's early days and I have a long way to go, i think i need to lose about 3 stones overall to get to a reasonable BMI/weight, im kind of stocky but suprisingly have quite a flattish tum.
Did a 7 mile cycle ride last night and have convinced a colleague to buy a cheap bike too so we can help motivate each other to cycle to work every day.
Off swimming now to try and keep up the motivation.
I've also invested in the paul mckenna book as i believe its probably state of mind/emotional attachment to food too. I've only read the first few pages though, im hoping it will help over the long term, understanding why i do things i do.
Wish me luck, as its early days! You are all doing so well, i hope i can achieve the same

ive had a day of reflection--trying to ascertain what the normal weight is for a male of my age? i saw a site on the net for our american cousins and it said my weight is the same as your average 35 yo in the states and i am in the top 34pc for my age---am i chasing rainbows by wanting to go any lower-
-i was given a good exercise for my pouchy belly yesterday-nothing so far i feel has actually worked that area of my body-so i am working hard on it now!--i feel very thin apart from my stomach and cant see any room for loss elsewhere. My instructoress told my wife that i had gone too far and i need beefing up with weights and protein because i am weak!!!--nothing like the truth to hurt!! she also said i do too much cardio and i should up my weights--she will add more to my 23 list of weights.
she also told my wife that the dietrician i saw has a weird machine that targets things too low--my instructoress who is very lean was told by the dietrician she needed to lose 1kgs which is a lot when she only weighs about 50kgs.
my bmi is 23,6 and i am 47 o a pouch is not unexpected-i am fit which is the most important thing about all that has changed in my life.mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
de1amo - you sound like a hottie to me!!
If you've gone too far with your weight loss then maybe focus on toning a bit? I know some of the ladies on here have had opinions about shoulders, so I offer you this:-

everyone in my gym(the instructors) say i look like one of the main characters from 'lost'--i dont watch it so i dont know if they are being complimentary--but the actor is 25 so i take some comfort from that at my age!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
