I am using the foodfocus website to count calories- problem is it's set a really low daily amount and i have used more than half up the afternoon, but i need to have a proper dinner or else I will eat rubbish all evening.

Betty is it possible that it's set you an intake target that's too low? You only have a stone to lose and if your target intake is (for example) close to or lower than your BMR that may be a little too extreme.

If it's reduced your daily needs by 500/day, then how about changing that to 250/day and going for a slower, but gentler loss? Sary's suggestion of extra exercise is a good one too, as long as you're eating enough to keep the body functioning properly :D

    thanks Missy.
Well I put a target of 1.5lb loss a week, and a target of 30 mins / 200 cals exercise a day. But the site has calculated a massive 700 cal a day defecit in order to achieve the 1.5lb a week loss. However, I am not silly and I know that I'm not going to folow it to the letter - my bmr is 1700 (sendentry lifestyle, sitting in front of a PC all day!) so i'm sticking to around 1200-1400 not the 1020  that the site suggests. I will eat more on days that I exercise so it will even out. That way I know i wont lose it as fast as the site says but it will be slower and more sensible.

i am on myfitnesspal and have been given 1200 calories target ---my bmr is 1700 and i am low movement apart from at least 4 days gym a week--i comfortably stay within the 1200 on down days but cant get anywhere near on the exercise days--yesterday i was about 800 calories under due to a moderate work out for me(2hours)--i dont trust their calorie counts on the exercise so i keep my own log and count which is always lower than theirs. Before i joined MFP i wasnt eating half as much so i have increased my consumption and decreased my workout from extreme-however,this week i gained weight for the first time in nearly 2 months of constant losses--to me i dont feel like i am dieting now--just hunting for the best food to eat with the right food values--maybe i should scoff something unhealthy to get put my calories up!!

I am happy to report a 4 lb LossPlease Fred

I am glad that a weeks holiday and a couple of glasses of Pimm's at the weekend haven't killed my diet too badly :D I have also had a little measure and I have lost 24cm from my waist since I started in january :j but I know I have still got a long way to go to be normal (if there is such a thing :o)

Well done to everyone for the losses :T and the STS's well done too.

Fi hope you enjoy your week away and don't go too crazy with the sangria's :D

De1amo I don't know what to say apart from Fig's ?? or senacot ?? At least you know the cause of your gain ;)

Fellpony Glad everything is going well and DD. Well done on being so close to your 2 stone target :T

Eric Just watch yourself and don't push it too hard and make yourself worse...... You know we all care and don't want to see you suffer HSarmhugs_9780.gif

    MRI scan results yesterday.
Spine curved & lots of wear & tear on spine.
Grey areas on brain that indicate why the difficulties with motor function.
So no great surprises so not sure why I feel so unsettled?
    Could cry at anything.

Oh Beanie - what can I say? Complete pants really isn't it. Are the grey brain areas a normal pattern of deterioration for your condition?
Fed up on your behalf: I'm not suprised you feel like crying. Life can be a relentless slog at times (((((((hugs)))))))).

I'm a bit shattered this evening; had a bad head today and the medication wipes me out and gives me the munchies so just had a HUGE roast dinner. At lunchtime, I managed my first gym visit of the week:A. Did 10 mins on the bike: not quite as fast as last week. When I look in the gym mirror I can't relate the speed I feel I am pushing my legs round with the very slow level of movement I can see in the mirror. Do you think it's a trick mirror......?
Then I had a 20 min swim. Then I walked half way home in the blazing sunshine, along the sea front before getting the bus the rest of the way.

2lbs on for me this week: a combo of OH's birthday at his parents and the day after at mine. I ate lots. Hopefully I can get this off this week.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
