i tend to overide their burn rates because i use a heart monitor to get my rates but i have to agree they are over generous.i am thinking about maintaining my weight now. my bmi is well within the healthy range and the wife is complaining about my thiness!
My wife's mother who is a retired doctor was saying something in turkish on sunday about me being stuck with a bit on extra weight because of the several operations i had when i was young--something to do with scar tissue --my wife wouldnt translate it for me but i think her mother thinks i have gone far enough!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Hello
please can I join your lose weight group?
my friend suggested I join a club like weghtwatchers or similar but i dont have the time/cash. I think i just need some support.
I am currently 1 stone overweight
I'm going to try counting calories but also low fat food and more protein as I think its supposed to fill you up more.
My biggest problem is getting distracted/bored and eating while at work.
I would also like to join the chart - i have been reading the thread for a while and understand that i have to post my loss/gain on a wednesday.
thanks

I use heart rate too but it's still my own formula, taken from the HR average across the duration of a workout and correlated to body fat results. I find it changes according to whether I'm on an upward curve of fitness or not, I generally seem to gain fat as I increase or maintain exercise levels, and lose it when I decrease (which is the exact opposite of what's supposed to happen! :rotfl:). So my calorie burn numbers need to be flexible to reflect what I see happening. I've definitely seen patterns over the months & years.
That's great if you've reached a size you're comfortable with and happy to maintain! :T I know you said your wife and MIL think you've done enough - do you agree with them?
Hi Betty and welcome to the thread! Good luck with getting rid of that stone, hopefully being on here will help!0 -

Oh I don't know, the way he leisurely marks the papers, last time it took him 3 weeks to mark me, 3 weeks I ask you:D
3 Weeks  I would have killed him by then :rotfl: I hope he gets his fingers out this time and you find out soon (fingers crossed for ya )
I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did. I hope the lots of walking I did will account for the small amounts of alcohol I had saturday and sunday night. Foodwise nothing bad passed my lips and even resisted a whole tray of sausage rolls that kept being put under my nose I was so proud of myself :A Will have to see what the scales say tomorrow.
Oh well I had better get ready for work after 10 days offwish I didn't have to go but at least it is raining and I will not be missing the sunshine.
Have a good afternoon everyoneRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

when i stand up and look in the mirror i look ok--could do with more muscle! when i sit down and see my muscleless stomach pertruding i am not happy---i think i need to tone up rather than lose more calories--maybe a change of exercise weight---i do lots of repetitive fat burn light weights but i am guessing i need to go onto free weights and change my protein intake???
i am enjoying this new healthy diet and dont hanker after more food--i like being disciplined and putting alcohol off the agenda because i know once i start i might undo all my good work--so i am here to stay on maintenance!--i have lost another 2,2lbs since last week but i weigh in tomorrowmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

gratz on reaching a normal BMI :T
putting muscle on is a good thing, but it requires discipline and a strict regime, you can not just go at it like you can do with cardio
rest is as important as exercise and diet to put on mass
I had a better weak, just under target loss, but uhmm yeah i kinda been ignoring the docs no exercise rule :whistle:0 -
well done on your loss--just be careful with your exercise.
my bmi is 23,8 and i am happily eating a lot better now -and still losing weight. i am not sure i have the commitment to build muscle--i know its the logical step and looks better but i need a set goal to aim towards --the exercise i do now lets me eat well and keep happy. i dont think i could go into all the supplements eating eithermfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

Welcome back Bails - how long is the countdown to the big day?
Hi fredsnail, it'll be 6 months on FridayBrighton_belle wrote: »And bails - that's wonderful that you are happy with your current size & shape and how you look in your wedding dress and are not putting your self under pressure to achieve more. You will look fantastic as you are. Any toning or weight loss you do achieve is then a happy bonus.

AAAARGH. It was all going so well. Then I got the fone call from the x whilst at work to come get the wee man as he's out in a rash. Severe allergic reaction to penicillin. Covered in calamine lotion, on steroids and antihistamines. And got the munchies, which are irresistible.
Welcome aboard betty, pretty sure there will be some good advice here for you. I just can't shift my final stone that would make me happy with myself :rotfl: Find it even harder when the kids are at home(and any excuse will do!)
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
thanks for the kind welcomes everyone
I am using the foodfocus website to count calories- problem is it's set a really low daily amount and i have used more than half up the afternoon, but i need to have a proper dinner or else I will eat rubbish all evening. Plus OH needs a good meal when he gets in from work.
What do you suggest for low cal breakfast/lunch so that I can save more cals for dinner?
ThanksBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
