Morning all! I had the most rubbish nights sleep. Have manky stuff on my chest that obviously wants to come up at night for the 3rd night in a row. Does my body not realise im trying to write a dissertation in a very small space of time?! Need to help someone move today, then have to go home for my nans memorial service next week so with those days taken out i cant afford to be up all night and sleep in late, grrrr!
Plus my head is now going mad thinking about finances, have no job lined up and once my house is sold (my dad owns it so no money out for me) i will need to move south and start paying rent, and my money is going to run out soon so once this work is in im gonna have to look for some agency work or something here to keep paying the bills till i move back.
I just typed up how much overdraft and credit card debt i will have by the end of the summer and cant bring myself to put it down incase people think badly of me. Ridiculous seeing as it built up due to my ex being disabled and going through periods where he couldnt move let alone work and my being in and out of hospital throughout uni...oh yeah heres a new one...im joining victory and bb with arthritis they think. Not a suprise to me at all ive thought it for years its just getting worse but as with everything else im ignoring it, had the first blood test done came up looking like it and im sorry to say i have so far refused to go back for the next ones. I cant and wont accept it right now.
Arghhhhhhhhh!
On the upside and more on topic. I went for a jog the day before yesterday (horrible! and another thing im not allowed to do...) and yesterday stayed totally healthy with malted cereal, 90cals of cous cous with lots of salad and a slice of ham, plenty of fruit and fairly healthy sausages with roasted veg and corn on the cob for dinner. Usually something bad creeps into my day so im very proud of myself! Am about 8lbs heavier now than this time last year, and even more so than the end of summer break up cant eat diet...god wish i could get into those jeans again tho lol. However, must be positive I have still kept off 24lbs and a comfortable size 16. Once I finish uni I am going to get seriously back into exercisize, have already started sit ups, press ups and leg toning stuff again but going to get back into cardio and work out proper calories for the exercise im doing, just need this work out the way and noooooo not an excuse, the culmination of 3 years work!
Have a good one all and sorry for my rant, been theraputic tho!0 -
dmv not getting away from the facts, it is what it is, arthritis is not the end, painful, frustrating, lots of negatives to it but there are positives to everything and with arthritis you get a lot of help ,there are many aids, mind over matter, it is what it is:D0

Well I shouldn't be at all surprised that so many of us here feel the same. It's why I love this place!
Victory - your colleagues are a bunch of backstabbing morons aren't they? You stick with getting those grades, and let them believe what they like, but you know the truth.
dmv - I have exactly the same thing with coughing at night. I had a cold a couple of weeks back, and then got a cough, which isn't so bad during the day, but at nighttime, it seems to rear it's ugly head... usually at 3am.
pepop - fertility goes into a steep decline after age 35, however there are always those exceptions to the rule. I have a best friend who was diagnosed as mid-menopausal in her late 30's, despite having shown no symptoms. She was without a partner, none on the horizon, and decided to have a baby alone by donor. My goddaughter is now 4yrs old, and was the best present my friend gave herself, aged 39. However, she's struggled much more than I have physically to cope with a young child. You can get your fertility checked with your GP, and it would give you an idea of where you may be. Being an older mum may not be the ideal, but who's to say it's not right for you or anyone else? If you take care of yourself, you can be just as good a parent, or even better, than a 20-something. I was 25 when I had my 1st baby, 26 for the 2nd, 31 for the 3rd and 33 with my 4th. I was probably fitter for the last 2, and coped better with those pregnancies.
So, yesterday I had lunch at a very lovely restaurant with my 3 sisters. I ate a medium portion of chicken & bacon linguine carbonara, and we all shared a dessert of Eton Mess. I didn't feel I'd over indulged particularly, and didn't feel hungry all day either.
Today I'm doing a BBQ in this glorious sunshine, so it'll be lots of salad, and plenty of meat to be had.
I figure if I try to keep on the straight and narrow, whilst working in a couple of small treats each week, I should be able to work a few lbs off. Failing that, I'm going to do 2 weeks of Slimfast shakes to get my body a break from eating rubbish, and accustomed to not eating carbs and adjusting to smaller meals, and lean meat & veg/salad. I did that before, and felt immediately healthier for it. In some ways, taking a break from the responsibility of organising food/meals is all I need. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

i just found a good site--myfitnesspal.com---a site with food counting and exercise combined--it set me a total calorie count of 1200 for my lazy lifestyle but after i exercised it bumped me up to 2000 odd--it gives me a target as it builds daily as a record of everything---so far today with my careful inout i have eaten 812 calories with 1238 to eat in 10 minutes and my limit time of local 7,30mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Just popping in to say hello. I've been away for a few days in Norfolk. Cheap travel lodge and lots of fresh air and sunshine - it was great.
Hugs to Beanie, hope your back is a bit better. Hugs to anyone else that needs one too!0 -
Hi all - hope everyone got out to enjoy the sunshine this weekend
I did a lot in the garden yesterday so its looking all trim a weed-free for now, planted out some climbing fuscia's I got for just a fiver P&P thanks to the Grabbit board (new planting not the best idea in hot dry weather, glad there's no hosepipe ban yet LOL) and we had all had lunch outside together yesterday. Lovely
victory - I think its been said before (and probably by me) but your work colleagues are a bunch of tools. I dont think your boss should be allowed to get away with speaking to you like that; unless he/she is performance managing you and you have a structured way of being measured the things he/she is saying borders on abuse or at least bullying. If he/she is making you feel inadequate with no good reason then you are being abused and you have a case for CD. Get your tail out of there before you start believing them.
I've had the most bizarre time. I have my final OU assignment due next week and I was supposed to go to a revision day school Saturday but decided not to at the last minute - early start, long day, 130 mile round trip, nowhere to park on site etc - felt the time would be better spent on my essay. Did about 4 hours note-writing yesterday afternoon, which is my normal approach before I start typing. Went to bed about 11pm, slept till 1am then laid awake for ages thinking about my essay end enduring a series of hot flashes & night sweats (my prostegen cream arrived Friday but it obviously hasnt taken effect yet), the warm weather not helping there LOL. At 2.30am I got up and started typing, then got distracted by Facebook and some spirited games of solitaire, went back to bed at 5.30am and laid awake again, finally drifting off for about an hour. Today we had a family outing planned so went ahead with that, I've been waiting all day to feel tired (I felt a bit 'spaced out' this morning) but so far okay. When we got back I tried to snooze for an hour before cooking dinner but I couldn't, my mind wont stop thinking about this flippin' essay - I've just read what I typed last night and its good but it doesn't answer the question!! Grrr
So am starting again this evening, going back to may essay plan. Once I get that buttoned down the words start to flow, and now I'm on MSE instead of working!! I have to submit this essay by Thursday, there is no choice or else I fail the course before I've even taken the examI'm told its better to submit something sub-standard and risk a low mark than nothing at all but my pride wont let me do that. Why dont I feel tired yet? I've had 3 hours sleep since Friday night.
and I still haven't got the flippin thing written!!!!

Hey everyone! I was so gutted that i was at work today in the lovely weather we had
Still, matts parents own a boat and we went out on that this evening!
So gorgeous, i saw two kingfishers, two herons (one was only about 3 or 4 metres away, didnt even fly off!) loads of ducks and swans! Lovely. Shows how far we have all come though, it was that boat that started the whole matt getting thrown out thing!
god i need a wee, must dash!!0
