well done Victory--i would drive home the advantage and set him some basic rules and chores he must do now around the house--i vacuum the house but leave the hoover in my daughters room --if her mother does it more fool her but i wont--the place has clothes all over it and i am not going to tidy before i have to do what should be an easy task!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

I do think tasks are important for children. Even if it's just something simple like clearing the table after dinner. Tried to get them to do the dishes, but always had to redo them
Pretty sure that was so i wouldn't ask them to do them again tho.
Off to manchester tomorrow for a couple of days, see u all when i get back4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
victory - so pleased he has come around at last (though his little rebellion didn't really last all that long did it???!!!). You & OH should feel proud of yourselves for not caving. Agree with de1amo - talk to him about his issues now that he's calm and willing to listen, along the lines of "this is what a family should be, lets make sure it doesn't happen again, this is what we need from you so what do you need from us to make it happen" type of discussion.
One note of caution tho - has he mentioned the season ticket thing again? Is he doing this in the hope that you'll give in now that he's being nice? sorry, dont want to detract from your palpable relief.
Boy I am hot flashing today like anything, sitting at my desk sweating and hoping no-one notices my shiny faceHave sent for some prostegen (sp?) cream so hoping it arrives soon and that I can get a decent nights sleep for once.

Ahh a Victory for Victory! Glad he has seen sense at last, don't give in with him too much now though!!
Mazza have a nice time.
Well done to SOTW Eric, better news than you hoped for.
I know it's late but I lost one lb this week so am quietly happy. It's been a mad busy week where nothing seems to have been achieved. (Sorry it's late Fredsnail)
Into hospital tomorrow with DD to have her central line taken out, (It's how they put the chemo in) so a huge step having it removed. It's only day surgery (as long as nothing goes wrong) Only trouble is we live 2 hours away from the hospital and they want us there at 7.30am!! Good fun getting up that early in the morning with a 4 year old who likes to sleep til 9!!
keep it up losers together we can make the world turning round a little more energy efficient lol :rotfl:You never know how strong you are until you have no other option.0 -

Fellpony - what a happy day (er, once the crack o'dawn start i forgotten). Great stuff.
Victory:D I am so pleased for you, DH and your son. It took guts for him to own up he was wrong and apologise. I truely hope he has learnt his lesson. I'm sure you'll have more ups and downs at some point, but I truely hope it will never be this bad again. And well done you and DH for sticking to your core values and not givening in. Hope you get a chance to talk a little more when he is calm.
Have a great trip mazza.
I have found the best of motivations not to put any weight back on - gorgeous new bras:D. Vix, I knew I'd get a telling of from you, but I had a £30 xmas voucher to use up and I honestly do think it fits -I got a right telling of from the woman who fitting me for what i was wearing, and loads of advice. It was nice being fitted by someone older than me
I know there is a braviss but they are quite pricy and didn't have a voucher for them. The voucher was to both of us for xmas for 'something for the house'. I reckon OH willl get us much benefit as meI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Don't worry the season ticket has been mentioned, he is now going to pay by direct debit monthly and pay 1 month up front every month 1 week before the payment is due so I do not have to pay and it is sorted:D as for chores he does his sunday chores, every discussion in the world took place last night and like sary said about her eldest we accepted his apologies and him back into the family but with strict abide by rules, the chores on sunday stay, if you can and it does not cause inconvenience with school work etc pick the youngest up from school and look after him until I get back from work, everything stays as it was but with a little more leniancy all around, I am one for 'do it now, I said NOW' he wants to do it more in his own time, so he can for now, see how it goes.:D and also I lied when all this kicked off and told him we had named changed his flight ticket to Spain from him to his father(OH never comes with us he hates the place we go to, my childhood town, hates the monotony and every year hopes to go somewhere else but we always veto it:rotfl:he was going on his bike trip but no money has cancelled that) so told him last night he has a lot to prove and a long way to go as yet before we re-instate him on our annual pilgramige to sunny Spain, he nodded and agreed and will work on himself and prove to us he is worthy of coming on his hols, no teenager is going to ruin the 2 week I get off, youngest loves it, I adore it but to take a stroppy teenager no thanks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:we go on the 1st august so there is plenty of time to see how it goes, he knows we are dead serious, will not budge on the chore, what a family is expected to do for each other, what he is expected to do without a NO I am not doing, why don't you do it, why have I got to?etc he also knows there is little chance of a moped, new phone, car when he is 17 and he knows he HAS TO go and help himself financially and get a job.
hezza it was a week, one whole week lol0 -

OH used to do that:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:eldest tried many times but initially when he got it wrong I went through it with him step by step, this is how I want it done, this is the way to do it, my way:rotfl:and now I must say the hoovering, window cleaning (when he remembers) dusting is very good, he has always had chores from a little boy even if it was just taking his plate into the kitchen but that is part of being a family, I was not put on this earth to clean up after him and the youngest is expected to tidy his room or take his clothes downstairs to the dishwasher or hang the towels up after his bath, nothing major but it re affirms it is a family of 4 not just me the donkey and them the dossers:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
ok BB i will let this one go this time!! I had a voucher from marks which i spent on underwear too, which was for matt and i also. Much more fun then buying a vase
Victory: congratulations! At last he saw sense!0
