I used to howl all the way to the shoe shop, yowl about the only pair that fit my wonky feet that had to be ordered and made specially at great expense, and then yowl again two weeks later when we went to collect them and them howl all the way to school because I hated them. I also didn't sleep, eat anything or master the art of staying dry till a very late age. My Mum cries laughing if I say anything at all about my boys being a pain:cool:
I have just cruelly made a teenager empty the DW . I have to refill it myself or my mild OCD kicks in.
My teens often do the DW.. they need to learn to be responsible and the general jobs that keep the house running are part of that!
I have 4 that wail about new shoes.. WHY?!?!?! I have a total shoe fetish, they are the ONLY things I LIKE buying!!! What is wrong with them? All of mine are difficult to buy for.. they either have stupidly narrow feet or stupidly wide! With high instep and low ankle bones plus 4 have hypermobility..
Hhhmm... wonder if we can get DLA for Tiddles now we have a diagnosis of sorts... I have just done DS2's claim so may run through the other 3 as well..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Well done 1step - want to come and help me train for my 26 miles in June as I have done NOTHING about it so far...
My dad has just told me that he's going to pay for (and lay) turf on my new flat lawn instead of giving me an easter eggso I now need to work out where I want my flower beds before April 17th. And I'm trying to arrange for the shed to be delivered on the 19th.
Hex - you're dead right about the garden design books. Sadly most of them seem to be the pretty picture and fashionable materials kind, and not the practical how to work out space/proportions etc kind.
I'm extending an open invitation for flyladies with garden inspiration to visit... as well as anyone who is up for a long walk or two between now and June 6th (I will travel if necessary!).
Suppose I should go and get my supper sorted and locate a DVD to watch on the laptop before earth hour kicks in. Not that many people round here are likely to participate, so I'll probably be the only house in darkness!0 -
Her feet overlap if she stands with her knees together..
Her kneecaps which should be on the front are facing each other, her feet overlap.
If she puts her ankle bones together.. she falls over.. but her feet still overlap and she has to bend and twist her knees to get them there..
Just a bunch of freaks my children!
We ended up at startrite for her boots.. They have some gorgeous boys boots in but they are pricey.. but if they are what they need what can you do!? Hers are size 11 and REDUCED to £42
Bit worse than me then! But it apparently corrects by age 4, for me it was age 8 and my mum refused the op because it didn't actually affect m walking in any way.
I refuse to go to startrite in my town. MIL and DH took him there for boots and they walked out with a pair that were too heavy and too wide. I met them in town and took him back, they refused to refund the boots and it ended up taking 3 months to get a refund after involving trading standards and a letter from his ortho.
Anyway, I'm not doing the ironing, I did everything else and have had enough. Going to meal plan and do a few practice tesco shops0 -
well done on all the flying. I cleaned the bathroom and DH did the kitchen pretty thoroughly and dysoned most of the flat. He seems to get bored very easily though and so gives up! I prefer to just get it all done in one go!
I know he is being good to me at the moment but he's doing my head in tonight. Playing a stupid ps3 game that always makes him mad and grumpy - I really don't see the point  I've come into the bedroom in the end as I'm fed up of him shouting and swearing. Am trying to persuade him to sell some games that he has completed but no joy.
Wondering whether to sell my MBTs as I've hardly worn them and doubt I will. Might see what they are going for on ebay.
1 step closer - well done, the bath should help and make sure you stretch out your leg and hip muscles a bit.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Grateful, no I'm not itchy - we had a letter from school the other day and checked the kids out - nothing to be seen (not like last time when we got 17 from DD ) Have you got tea tree conditioner? We tried and it helped a lot..
Greenbee you anywhere near sunningdale/sunningwell? Berks or hants, I forget. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Dusty - self seeded frits - how lovely. I love them but I only have a few that I put in the first spring, but they have not self seeded here. The garden is just bursting into life now, so many things to look forward to.
Greenbee - is that the blank canvas finished for the garden? Have you decided on a final plan yet?I don't think she meant they were self-seeded... I think she meant that they didn't make it to the intended recipients...
Yes, it is finished. Want to come round (with any of the other green fingered flyladies who can help out) and help me work out what to do with it?
The frits I have posted in the past have always disappeared. I get lots of lily bettles but that should not explain it. These will eventually be going in a different bed. I'll get something different as gifts, they didn't go well in the pots I already had as part of the gift so had to be used elsewhere;)
Shame you are not closer Greenbee or I'd pop around for a nosey. I'm not great with planting plans, my garden is more evolving. How long would it take from mine to yours? My teens often do the DW.. they need to learn to be responsible and the general jobs that keep the house running are part of that!

So many of us have trouble with shoes and kids don't we. I have one with stupidly wide off the scale feet. One floppy child with low ankle bones, and orthortics to fit in with very small feet for his age. Another floppy one with a high instep. I'm lucky mine have on the whole always just accepted that they don't get a choice it is just which fits and is comfy. Hope you are not to sore where tiddles kicked you.
We've been and ordered DS2's new mattress. His new desk is up and he is thrilled. His old desk is in DS3's room and he is thrilled. The orange painting is done. Finally on the home straight with both rooms but need to sort out some underbed drawers for DS3's room.
It's not easter holidays here yet. Secondary finish on Tuesday lunchtime but have learning review day on Wednesday. Primary don't finish until Thursday. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

These are fine.. I insist on checking them myself and I can usually tell how well they fit by how well they walk in them. Tiddles is 5.5 and hers are just getting worse!! The torsion should be outgrown by 10 which is the earliest they'll consider surgery.. Which is fine by me.. but I am in a quandary over the op for her curly toes.. she said she wants to keep them curly she likes them!
I'd go have them measured then get them from the website!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
 Tia
onestep - well done to you
Mum5 - I'm glad DS1 is at least showing remorse and good on DH for getting him on the bike ride. Would he stay on and repeat a year to get some GCSEs - there are always resits and sometimes you can just resit the module/s you did the worst in to up your grades
AnW'sMum well done to W, I hope he can have his certificateThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

The teens are supposed to do the DW daily but I mind having to 'remind' them.
I still hate buying shoes because I know they won't fit, and the ones I like will not stay on because of my narrow feet and heels and if they do fit they look awful due to my barge like proportions. I still have palpitations at the prospect of going into Clarks. My lovely mother still laughs with a tinge of nervous hysteria if you mention me and shoes.
Greenbee - happy to post the useful books I have to you if you like? I have lots of pretty picture ones as well but the two I mentioned have specific ideas for gardens and ways to adapt them to different shapes. I would love to go walking with you but you are such a way from me and I am only free during school hours sadly. Weekends [STRIKE]I am chained to the children[/STRIKE] belong to the family apparently :roll eyes: Yours to mine is c180 miles I think from doing DH fuel claims.
Beds are re-made, small people have been sellotaped into their beds and I can now settle down to doing nothing, at least until DH gets back from dropping SS1 off.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
