CTC, that's the kind I wear here. As I said pages back they are very much a standard apron in many parts if Europe in my experience. Darned practical too.
i love that style to be honest.. as to me it does represent the iconic image of hard working housewife/homemaker...when there were no washing machines.... and kitchen gadgets etc....
i also have the image of them also with curlers in their hair and stockings wrinkling down by their ankles ..lol... a bit like nora batty or the cartoon house keeper in tom and jerry...lol...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Not labelling it anymore than saying they are 'practical' or 'retro' is also labelling.

I think I ought to report you for those remarks!
but I will still wear mine in front of my DL at Xmas!
So you don't wear one yourself then?
Some young ladies just wear sensible protective clothing
& still look good0 -

I love my aprons! I had one bought me for my (35th) birthday nearly a year ago and bought myself another a couple of months ago. I wear them when doing the housework, when cooking/baking and sometimes when eating a messy meal like spaghetti!
COOLTRIKERCHICK- I have fond memories of my MIL wearing a wraparound apron like the one in your photo, and she often had curlers in and wrinkly tights too! Bless her.0 -

No it's not just you CTC. It's all going over my head too but I'm actually quite relieved about that I think.0 -

Im 22 male and wear pvc aprons at home. Don't wear them in front of the folks as im very shy as to what they would say.
Its a really nice apron that has a chicken called buzby on the phone and the slogan reading "Make someone happy tonight, give em a call...."
I'm 28 and male. I too wear a PVC apron despite the narrow-mindedness of my parents. See my other posts. My two biggest problems are a) size b) non-femininity. Do you have the same problems? Where do you get your aprons from?0 -
