They don't work 'together' and forgive me please for saying - stop being such a pushover for a scam PPC!

The PPC have tendered for 'work' - a job which is basically to run a protection racket in the car park. They do not work 'together' with the Managing Agent and cannot influence your tenancy!

Secondly, you don't have to accept a poxy permit scheme to park in YOUR designated space. Your lease protects you and allows you uninterrupted use of that parking space. For a bunch of chancers to be trying to extort money from you for parking in YOUR space is simply unacceptable!

This is a very similar thread on pepipoo, only the person there realises it's all a scam (like you, they are also new to the tenancy):

Read that thread and please get yourself out of the 'victim' mindset of 'begging' a scammer to let you off a 'charge' which you do NOT owe.

In fact I would send a copy of it to the Managing Agent and ask them why on earth a third party has been told it can touch cars in designated bays - why is there even a permit scheme at all when your lease grants you that parking space? Putting a fake PCN on your car when it's on your property is harassment and trespass against your goods.

If you do a bit more reading here and on pepipoo, watch the Watchdog video etc., you will surely understand that this is a scam and that you should be far more assertive about this; telling the Managing Agent that you do not accept that you even have to show a permit when parked in your OWN space.

Thanks mate. To be honest, it totally caught me off guard. I've had a ticket before, for "overstaying my welcome" at an Aldi, in Leicester, which I completely ignored. This one just came across as different, but after coming on here and taking the advice you guys have given me, I can see its just a scam!

I may complain to my hosing association about this. For the time and trouble it has caused me. You are dead right. It's my space, and no one should even look at my vehicle while its in it, let alone stick a ticket on it, trying to rip me off!

    Thanks again :)

  • How have you gone on with your ticket from CMS?

My son got a ticket on his car at Robin Park in similar circumstances to yourself, we have recently been receiving letters raising the claim from CMS to £120.

    Bill

I received a parking ticket for £80 whilst parking at Robin Park Retail Park last Friday for 55 minutes. Ticket says "For parking outside trading times". It was my first visit to Robin Park and the shops were closing on my arrival but I was unaware of these parking regulations and took my son for a Burger King meal. There is a sign saying no parking outside retail hours but I never saw it. I have appealed but CMS say I still need to pay the fine. If I pay within 14 days I only need to pay £50! A solicitor friend says to ignore the fine and any forthcoming correspondence from CMS. However, Trading Standards have told me to pay it. Can anyone advise. What is the worst possible scenario if I don't pay this fine please?

Carry on ignoring unless they can prove in front of a judge that £120 is a true estimate of the landowners losses, and if the "crime" is parking outside trading hours than the loss will be zero.

Now if the landowner didn't want boy-racers and the like to use their car-park when the shops are closed, the simple solution is to employ a gate which will be closed a set period after the shops close, and opened in the morning.

  • CMS tickets tend to be 'do it yourself' jobs from packs bought over the internet, or from the bloke in the portkabin at Robin Park.

    Ignore the lot.
  • Yep, stand firm, ignore it all, they are just scumbag scammers who try to frighten you, they have no possible way of enforcing their preposterous claims, though they will try to convince you otherwise; but if you simply ignore them they WILL go away, never to return, as they will realise you are one of the increasing number of people who are wise to their little game.
