I totally agree. I think OP is very confused, maybe about whats happening but certainly how she feels about what is happening. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Well I only came on here to have a catch-up from last night, what a lot of extra posts.
We're all coming to different conclusions here, only CR knows.
There are inconsistancies which just don't add up, and I think people don't want to think they're wasting their time.
Maybe the OP can help us out, and let us know how she's getting on. We're giving advice on her husband not paying the £800 mortgage when she's clearly getting £2k to pay it and also that she is having to buy nappies/milk out of her savings (does she mean the £2k).
She's saying she's just sorted a holiday to the Maldives when she's already paid for a holiday to Gran canaria so we can't see why, if made redundant and has no money, you'd then book another one. I must say though Cran Canaria with a new baby sounds a much better choice.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Okay lets make a few things clear
I started my post byt saying here is the short version - that is why I havent put certain things into it
EG I WAS getting paid PPI of £2000 a month but that only lasted for for a few months when I had to say I was going to be a SAHM
As of this month I WILL only be getting £160 a month in bth working tax credit and child benefit - hence I had to start looking at our monthly outgoings and upon going over husbands realised that he was swimming against the tide and at some points drowning
I have booked a holiday to Gran Canaria and we have both paid for that - I didnt want to put down exact dates on here or anywhere in fact you just can never be too sure - but yes we do go in a few weeks - we are also off to the Maldives which I booked AGES ago when the loft is being done
The money I recived from PPI has gone with my savings and all into a high interest account in order to pay fr the loft, I will have a bit of money left over - I am talking £2-3k which Husband and I have agreed I should keep for a rainy day or a just in case day/month etc
I have not lied, we are looking for aplace in Kent that needs renovating, seen a few places like Orpington, etc dont want to put exactly where again as no doubt someones next comment will be "Oh Oprington what sh**hole" etc etc
I am not a troll
Husband cooked dinner last night and we sat in silence whilst watching TV - I went to be at 9pm as was shattered and hubby agreed to give dd her dream feed and came to bed around 10pm - he kissed us goodbye this morning but thats it. I expect its going to take a few days to get back to normal, I have baby group thing today so going to just put some make up on and my other face (all cheers and smiles) and try and get life back to normal again
I thought I would put a few things straight on here....no doubt someone else will come along now and say I am lying again etc etc - I would say that hurts but as its only a forum for open discussion I have to just rise above it - thanks for listening0 -
I don't think anyone intentionally set out to 'hurt you'. I think it is the problem of you posting a 'short version' in your first thread.
We have all been giving you advice on the assumption you had £160 and were buying nappies milk etc out of your savings. We then found out you were getting £2k to live off from your PPI. It is your choice if you decide to save this £2k, but it was given to you to pay bills etc. So when someone found this out on another thread you must surely see how that looks??
We were all also commenting on how could your OH be going out and spending money when you only have £40 to live off, when you didn't have, you had £2k but chose to save it.
The holiday situation still baffles me. You state you HAVE to go to the maldives when your loft is being done as you can't live in the flat at the time, you state it's the only holiday you'd have had since your honeymoon years ago. But then on another thread I find you booked and paid for a holiday to gran Canaria only last month and are going in a few weeks. Again this makes people wonder what is going on.
The problem is stemming from we are only told bits and pieces and commenting on that, and then other 'bits and pieces' are coming to light that would change how we had previously commented.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
It is my fault then - I really should have written my essay on my very first post, just thought a shortened version would save my fingers and from people zoning out...0

It's ok, live and learn. Everyone does it. You feel like OMG I can't write War & Peace, really the other facts made up the bigger picture.
It's all out now though and things seem to be improving for you.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Orpington used to be nice, but a lot of areas have gone rapidly downhill. I should know, I grew up there.
If you want to know which areas to avoid and which areas are good (particularly for schools), PM me.
There are some surrounding areas which are also nice. Are you looking to move there though, or renovate and sell on?February wins: Theatre tickets0
