Kissing Mums on the mouth is a bit much from a grown man  I think it would make me feel sick if I saw that
I always kiss my girls if they are going out, going to school, or at night when I'm tucking them in, I always tell them I love them too
I'm not really affectionate with my family though, apart from my sister who is 9 years younger than me, I would give her a hug, but the rest of my family I just say bye, no kiss, no hug.Little Miss Sparkles :A

Lol. My OH's mum kisses him on the lips and he's 40 his year. Must admit I raised an eyebrow the first time I saw it, but we talked about it and he said he really didn't like it, but puts up with it for her benefit. I think she does it to his 35 yr old sister too. I think it's a bit weird, but I imagine she'd have the sense not to do it in public!0

thats me that is:D
and Jackie, I am :rotfl:how did you guess?:rotfl:
certain family members ARE kissy and huggy but I am not one of them, I only ever do it to my Gran( because she expects it) and kids
It's a typical Aquarian trait. I like to think I don't believe in all that mumbo jumbo but i've got to admit that i'm a typical Aquarian.:D

35 and still kiss my mum on the lips, sisters on the cheek though and same for their other halves. Hubby kisses my mum on the cheek. Always tell her I love her at the end of a phone call, same to my dad, kiss my dad on the lips too when I see him, nowt in it, just family and have always done it"A simple life freely chosen is a source of strength. My DD used to kiss everybody on the lips when she was small. It was OK as a toddler, but I hated it as she got a bit older, and encouraged her to kiss cheeks instead. It just felt wrong to me, no idea why.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.

II have started to give friends a hug and air kiss or cheek kiss but I still don't feel comfortable with it at all. I tolerate it from acquaintances who seem to think it's the 'done thing' but that's as far as it goes.
We are not in bloody France.
:rotfl:my French friends find it highly amusing that I have had to be culturally re-educated to do the cheek-kissing thing... almost as amusing as my northern friends would if I tried kissing their cheek!
I think it's partly cultural, partly personal... not sure there's a 'right' answer.

We are not huggy or kissy at all - I can't remember the last time I hugged or kissed any member of my family (I'm 25). We don't say I love you either, although we are all very close so we all know that we do. I guess we just don't see the need, because it's inherently there.
Mind you, I can't stand PDA's of any sort - I don't kiss my OH in public and can't stand it when I see other people doing it, again I just don't see a need for it, surely people can control themselves for a few hours till they get home!!?
I also hate hand holding, but I think thats because I feel like I'm being 'hung on to' more than the affection side of it!Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Is planting a smacker on the lips of a family member a northern thing ?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
