Just to stir things a little, it might be interesting to phone up and point out that T-mobile hosts a direct rival service to Lycamobile, ask whether those numbers are counted as inclusive in T-mobile minutes, and drop a nuance of the question could this be viewed as restrictive practice on behalf of its partner.

To stir it even more, it might be interesting to phone Ofcom, refer to the dispute between the companies in the Netherlands, ask if it is overflowing into this country, and if such petulant behaviour is appropriate in multi-national companies

Yep.. will certainly do this if I see more charges. I wonder how other T-Mobile pay monthly customers are getting on with challenging the charges.
  • I don't suppose anyone knows if this is the same case with orange?
I have just switched contracts from O2 to Orange 2 days ago and i make a lot of calls and send a lot of texts to guernsey mobiles? :(

Guernsey is not part of the UK and their T+Cs refer to allowances including "UK mobiles" - so it looks like you might be charged.

Yes - phone customers services and complain.

In my case they did refund, but the guy acted (or maybe was) dumb as to why it happened. However the amount was small - since yours is a larger amount they might resist.

This really is a con - I'm amazed that more people haven't posted to this thread.

It happened to me but the amount was £3 and they refunded it but said it is a personal number and will be charged in future.

I use an o2 mobile and they don't charge.

That seems to be the default "fob off" answer - it's not a real mobile number - but then they refund if it's small.

I might be cynical - but I suspect they don't want complaints elevated to a regulator.
  • Today I made a 37 minutes call to an 07404 number from Orange and I have been charged £4.70 for 15:41 minutes and 22 minutes call was free. I cant understand why it was charged for 15 minutes and not full call. I just wanted to know if I can complain and get my £4.70 back from Orange or should I just ignore it as I might be charged for full call if I ring them up.

    Anyone got any ideas please?

Have you checked how many minutes you have remaining as it is possible they ran out during this call and you were charged for the 15 mins after they ran out
