Yeah thanks. Just been searching through and finding them. I get such a good service though AOL at the moment I may stay put and pay the extra rather than have problems when I/If I do get connected.0

Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice.
Ive just recently signed up with TalkTalk broadband ... it took forever to set up and hours of waiting in telephone queues ... but now im finally connected ... only trouble is i've only just found an article about TalkTalk on: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/04/12/carphone_gigabit/
quoting "The Carphone Warehouse is to amend the small print on its new broadband service following the vulture-eyed intervention of Register readers. In a press release today plugging its new "free" broadband service the firm said the product was subject to a "40 gigabit monthly download limit. Readers were quick to point out, gigabits ain't the same as gigabytes and Carphone's limit only amounted to around 5 gigabytes. Asked to confirm the correct usage limits, a spokeswoman for Carphone told us that the "40 gigabit" limit printed in today's press release was "incorrect" and that it would be changed to "40 gigabyte".
Does this mean that it is now a 40 Gigabyte limit as that is what i was lead to believe. I know it may seem obvious that it is now 40 Gigabyte's but i just want to make sure everyone is reading the same as me
Thanks0 -

Friends
We had no probems with TalkTalk phone or Broadband until they decided to upgrade the equipment to 8mg. We were sent a letter saying that it would be 20 minutes without outgoing calls or broadband and then 4 hours without incoming calls. That was last Thursday 7 Sept. As of today we still have no broadband and when we have called (Fri am), they registered a problem but still today no broadband and the little man who answers the phone said YOU MUST USE OUR MODEM. We plugged their modem in and everything , phone went away. http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/confused-smiley-013.gif Then the little man said OH, our modem doesn't work with macs. Anyhow we are extremely frustrated as, except on Mon & Tues, I work from home as a freelance. http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/angry-smiley-030.gif Most of my work comes and goes by email. Is anyone else having similar problems? Any suggestions as having spent almost 3 hours in total on the phone to their 0870 number, probably free as I am calling on their network, I don't know what else to do. It is an 18 month contract which I will end up paying anyhow but HELP.LBM August 2005 £40,000
25 February 2009 £21662.12
6 January 2010 £6,691 Lloyds PPI including interest.
12 October 2010 Ombudsman says Lloyds to repay me PPI + interest.:j0 -
Have a read of this article in yesterdays Sunday Times
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2097-2350105.html
"Many of its broadband customers have given up and taken their business elsewhere, and Talk Talk said that anyone who does decide to cancel before their go-live date will not have to pay the £70 cancellation fee"0 -
I have just had a phonecall from Watchdog who have been so inundated with complaints about TalkTalk that they are starting an investigation. They have asked me to speak on the show, but I'm not sure if the watershed will allow such profanities on at 7pm. I suggest that you all contact Watchdog, they were extremely interested to hear what I had to say.0

Another article about them here in yesterdays Times.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,28053-2357907.html
"But on Monday afternoon, when Times Money rang Talk Talk’s 0870 number and selected the broadband option, we were greeted with a recorded message, saying: “All our agents are busy, please call back later.” We tried a further three times in the next 15 minutes and the same happened. When we called back and selected the sales option, an operator answered within 45 seconds."0 -
Yippee - I've now got Broadband. 18 days after complaining to Charles Dunstone, and 2 weeks exactly from the date I finally got a compensation offer agreed with them (they wouldn't process the order until then). If you still have problems getting connected but want to stick with TT, then I suggest you e-mail Charles Dunstone at DunstoC@cpwplc.com.0
