When my three were little, i ensured they went to the public loo's before i entered a shop. Why do mothers not do that? I always took them a loo, it's saves the embarrassment of having your little one wee themselves in public.

Everywhere i took them, they were always taken to the loo first even if they said they didn't want to go.

Did he wee over the floor? I hope so.. Hope they had to clean it, deserves them right for not allowing him to use the toilet. Idiots

Then why didn't the mother think to take her son to the public loo before shopping?

So you took your kids to a loo before they entered every single shop while out shopping ?

Kids are unpredictable , i make sure mine goes before we go out etc. but sometimes they need to go again and it cant be helped.

No i took them a loo before shopping and not once did mine wee themselves. You as a parent have to ensure they go to the loo, it's your reponsibilty, not the shops.

I forgot to say also that if you know your child cannot hold their wee, then every half an hour, you take them to the public loo, there is no excuse.

You will find one, there are shops who let you use a loo. I used to pop into Mothercare etc, you normally find one of those on your high street, they have toilet facilities.

It's not always that easy! I'm potty training my son and he will only go on the potty (or my upstairs toilet ....definitely not the downstairs one ) so there's no point on taking him to the toilet. He also won't go in the "boy" way either so I take a potty with me everywhere I go! It's stuffed in the buggy or I carry it around in a plastic bag. I have to admit I even take it to the corner shop or any other little journeys as he doesn't give much notice.

I fully sympathise with the OP though as when they're training they don't understand the concept of hanging on til it's convenient. I've had some disapproving looks off people when my son's been sat on his potty in random places but they all had to be trained once as well :p.

If your potty training your son, then you can buy them pull up pants, that way if he wee's then it won't be a problem. The pants are designed for little accidents like that. Also with them pull ups you can still take them to the loo as and when required. You don't need to take his potty. They soon learn.
  • kimberley............I find these trainer pants defeat the object, I have found that if I put these on lilttle one he does tend to wet them ( they are very close to a nappy!) so have found it better without them.

Also if you had read the previous posts then you would have found that my son had gone to the toilet shortly b4 the 'event' and 1 shop I went to .....Like so many have said these situations are unpredictable!

What about what if there are no public loos....you will find one.....yeah when its too late !!!

why is it other people are so quick to pass comment we all do things differently! Thank heavens im on the tail end of totty training!!!!!!!!!
