Little children can't 'hold it' most of the time. When they have just been potty trained if they tell you they need the toilet they mean NOW, right this second! Not in the 5 minutes or more it'll take you to get to the nearest loo.
If a child need to the toilet in a shop he/she is desperate and should be allowed to use the toilet. It can be very distressing to some children to soil /wet themselves and this can cause toileting problems butI guess that doesn't matter as long as the rules are followed eh?:rotfl:
I was manager of a pharmacy for 17 years and I never refused anyone who wanted to use the toilet.
Now I am mum to a 4 year old. Didn't breed her though, not 'anyone' can breed. Some of us aren't that lucky.
Parents should take responsibility for their own children. Most of us do, but sadly a small minority are happy to let their children run riot in shops and restaurants. Scares the hell out of me when a group of kids comes charging towards me through a store!
Don't tar us all with the same brush.Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.0 -

You do realise that you're meant to have a tax allowance for cleaning of clothes just for work? During my time on the shop floor I experienced a few little incidents, including a baby being sick down my suit (though my employer paid for the cleaning - the chair had to be re-upholstered though!)0 -
The posts saying the SA should have made an exception, what if the SA got fired for breaking policy?
Dont get me wrong, I'm just finished potty traing, one finally got it, then the other one started it lol. I carried a potty in the bottom of my big buggy, or in a bag on the umbrella buggy0 -
grex9101 wrote:You are absolutely right - some folk think having kids gives them a god given right to get what they ask for. Mother and child parking spaces, "special seats" on buses and trains, paternity/maternity leave etc etc.
And guess who pays for it all? Us tax paying mugs. Where does it all stop?
You're joking right? Either that or has to be a wind-up??0 -

You mad, mad woman!!! Why are you being so reasonable insted of expecting the world to rush to help a mother when she does so little to help herself?
I did re-read the earlier posts to confirm that the OP had a push-chair with her so it wouldn't have been a big deal to take a potty along. Nor would it have been a big deal to take the little one to the toilet before going round the shops. And little boys are so much easier to manage than little girls - at least you don't need to undress them first.
And before anybody takes further offence - I'm practising what I preach with a little one just getting the hang of knickers! We only go where I know we can both manage in emergencies, either by being close to the car and the potty in the boot, somewhere where I know toilets are available, or out in the open where I can whip the potty out from under the push-chair and let her use it. I'm afraid that at this time (toilet training age) you just have to make compromises between what you would like to do, and what you can do. It's no good expecting others (eg shop staff) to make the compromises for you.0 -
went into local town today, just into WH Smith where son wanted the toilet again knowing that I would make it to a near toilet I thought I would try the SA first (save me going back to the shop) and hey! the nice person said YES.....he took me to the staff toilets, and I was sure thank him very much. s£900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x0

1. I do not expect the "world to rush to me".
2. Little son ( have we forgot we are talking about a human being) had gone to the loo just before going into the one and only shop I went into before taking him to a park across the road. ( would u take a potty to the corner shop)
3. Buggy does not hold a potty
Hence learning by my mistakes and carry a small plastin beaker in my bag...incase!!!
Thank you£900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x0 -
