  • hang on grey 9101.....As well as being a mother I also work full time as a senior nurse in a very busy A&E department. Both myself and husband pay tax.......and quite a bloody lot to thank you!

So if I park in mother and baby and claim maternity pay etc etc then I am quite entitled to......Thank god some good stores provide this for us busy mothers/fathers ( and thats not to say people without kids are not busy before offence taken)

No one cares what you think matey. If you've got such a problem with kids then stop posting on this thread. No-one cares about or wants to hear your bitter and twisted opinion so go to hell.

This was a thread relating to an experience tigertiger had in River Island not an excuse for a couple of idiots to start mouthing off about people who have kids.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I don't believe you made a lot of posts relating to the thread either, "matey".

And I really don't need to waste my time fighting my corner against folk like you who are all bitter and ravaged after losing their social lives after having kids.

I'm going out clubbing now. Enjoy singing lullabies. Freaking sad git.

I can see two sides to this argument - speaking as father of a boy who has very recently gained sufficient bladder control to (sometimes) allow a shopping trip without having to plan the quickest route to all the public toilets in the area.

The shop was under no obligation to allow you to use their toilets. If your son was unable to hold it, then it was not their fault. There may have been a good reason why they could not let you. If you needed to be escorted, there may not have been a member of staff available to do so. Obviously, as I was not there, I do not know if that was the case in this instance.

However, if there was not a good reason not to allow you to use the staff toilets, then common sense and good customer relations would suggest that they should have let you. The Waitrose policy mentioned above seems very sensible.

The one thing that really winds me up is rushing to the shopping centre toilets with the little angel to find them locked for some reason. This has happened far too many times. What I did to get around this is to buy a RADAR key to access the disabled toilets. You can buy these from RADAR for about £3 (from memory). That has made the difference between getting there on time and wet clother on more than one occasion. This would probably not have helped in this case, but might make the difference in future.

Hi, this thread was NOT suppose to be turned into an argument, just as the board suggests 'vent board' which in my original post had done. I did not think for one moment that it would turn into a slanging match between members ( its not really what this brilliant site is for is it !)

I dont think people on this board are bitter and enraged about losing their social lives due to having children....dont you know what joy it is to have lovely children .....obviously not grex9101, you seem a very bitter person. I bet you are the type of person that comes to my department and performs if an ill baby or child gets to see the Dr before you.

By the way my 'pub chain' is actually a 'bar/club' these days and is very good ( people with kids do have a social life!)
didnt live it up either last night did you...posting on the site 1.30am hahahahaha

Or perhaps just someone else with a level head who didn't get the "cotton wool" approach which seems to have evolved within the last decade or so.

A wise man once said "children should be seen and not heard". Too true.

It makes me laugh when you see, hear comments like this....
obviously they were never children.......or more worrying they still are children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
