Mystery solved - booking.com have now added a big link on their front page to the Priceline UK site. It wasn't there yesterday so something must have clued them up (probably all the phone calls!)
Does raise interesting questions about their strategy in the UK...0 -
I've been looking at winning bids on betterbidding for Manchester, UK and wondered... does anyone know if the winning bids which are quoted in Dollars $ could be converted into pounds £ ?
If a winning bid was won at $75 does this mean it would be reasonable to start bidding at say £40 with same criteria ?No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. :kisses2:0 -

Yes it is
Though no guarantee you will win at the equivalent price.0 -
it might be a silly question but... if you don't win anything, will you lose the money you bid?0

From reading various forums, I believe the way it works is as follows:
You place an offer (bid) > Priceline then makes an offer to hotels with your chosen criteria > if a bid is accepted your card is automatically charged.
If no offer is accepted, no charge is made.
Perhaps someone else can clarify but that's always been my understanding of itNo person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. :kisses2:0 -

ok, thanks:p
I've done the very same search on both UK and US PL site.
The UK site says upon my search: Suggested retail price for a 4 star hotel £312
the US site says Median retail price for a 4 star hotel in the area selected is $210. why so much difference? :eek:0
