Has anybody else noticed that the Priceline UK site appears to be down?? I have been bidding over the last few weeks for a hotel in Washington DC in September. Went to log-in this morning to have another go and the priceline.co.uk link just goes directly to booking.com! Have they taken down the UK site with no warning? I'm a bit hesistant to bid on the US site, especially if for some reason they are no longer operating in the UK.

I'm pretty annoyed that they've just pulled it without any warning, or notice, or anything! They were happily taking bids at the beginning of this week. Can't seem to find any information anywhere about what's going on.

As I said, I'm reluctant to use the US site until I know what's going on with the UK one. Do you just need to make up a fake address to use the American site? Has anyone done it?

I tried and then I used the speak to a advisor box and someone came on and basically said if I don't have a US or Canada credit card they're not interested! Then promptly left!

That's mad! I think it's very cynical of them just to leave the UK website up until the last minute and take it down with no warning and no press information. Would Martin maybe be interested for his newsletter? I know he's recommended Priceline in there before. They are cutting off a huge market. I feel so annoyed when companies act like this. Think I'm going to call booking.com and see if I can get any answers.

Okay I just called the booking.com number and spoke to a very nice lady who said she'd had a few calls today along the same lines and couldn't get any answers (I presume from management) about what was going on. She said she'd try again and put me on hold, but she said she couldn't get any answers, and that the 'projects team' were looking into it. She also said that I couldn't use priceline.com as it was only for the US and Canada.

Maybe it's a website issue? It's all very mysterious. Bad business on priceline.co.uk's part.

Seems to be working - is it definately legit? I see you are a very respected forum user.

Mind you I can log in with my past details, so I assume it is...
