    Thanks Buffy.

Yes, normally lovely kids, but they have nothing planned and they still havent even wished me a happy mothers day. DD cried when she realised how hurt I am, and DS went to make a card but an after thought isnt the same is it. I dont think they could've made me feel any worse today if they'd tried:(

Where you been? I've missed you :grouphug:

Hello my darling, silly tactless kids, I am really shocked Jess seemed so lovely - not that forgetting Mother's day is a terrible crime exactly but i have been planning for weeks what to do/buy etc. It is just cos she is young tho, I reminded my form on Friday and some of them looked at me like I was mental when I explained it was good to appreciate your parents and make a fuss of mums cos they are special. hmm teenagers. odd species full of extremes:grouphug:xx

I have basically been working and had some kind of crash in terms of just so tired and miserable and thus not much company. Given myself lots to do over Easter and it just never stops.

    so yeah moving on!

My friend on Facebook has just been really rude, sometimes I wish I could bloody tell people what I think!

Guinea pigs need cleaning bless them

    take care all

    xxxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Good of you to be so thoughtful in prompting them Buffy.

I've just put two loads on the line (cold here but a nice blowy breeze), and can report success - it took two shampoos to get rid of the hairspray feeling but I am back to my normal colour :D

I'm off for a run on the beach....I can even see blue sky.

I will have to try and negotiate Mr T's later without tripping over floods and floods of flowers.

Can I ask you all to also have a quick think about those people out there who don't have a mother anymore. I really find this day about the hardest of the whole year.

    B

I know just what you mean Butti, about mother's day. This is my 2nd one without my mum, she died end of 2008 with Alzheimers and even though I had "lost" the person she used to be several years previously, it's still hurting very much inside me. Am filling up now, just thinking about it :(

Oh Spud my lovely lovely friend. I know exactly how hurt and let down I would feel, but teenagers are notoriously egocentric. I have seen the relationship you and DD have and I'm sure she would not purposely intend to hurt you. Did your OH not 'remind' them yesterday? As ShoeGal said, it is thoughtless. Nothing more, nothing less. I think you have every right to tell them how let down you feel. They would not like it if you forgot their birthday/special day so why should you have to suck it up.

It happened to me once when mine were around the same age as yours and my OH tore a strip off them for being so thoughtless. They were old enough to be aware of what was expected and just didn't bother. Ok, they cooked dinner that evening but, as you say, the after-thought isn't the same. I'll bet this is something that won't be repeated in future years!

Happy Mother's Day from one mother to another.... I hope you do something you want to do and that your children learn a valuable lesson from this.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

Well back from town. Done two more Starbucks taste tests, they weren't as horrible as yesterday thankfully! Both of them said the one I liked best was the instant, so either they're both lying, or me and sister just assumed wrongly yesterday that it was - they didn't actually tell us which was which, or say anything about it at all, just gave us the coffees. Just two more local branches left to cover tomorrow!

In the second one the guy was quite sweet and earnest, I felt bad about deceiving him with my pretend ignorance of it all, by now I think I know as much as the barista's do about it!

And I wanted to jump him. *sigh*. I'm getting worse by the day!

I did a bit of window shopping, Monsoon had a 50% sale which is still about 45% above my budget, but I now know what I want to keep an eye on ebay for! Also saw some boots that'd be suitable for festivals, ie warm cheap flat ankle boots. They were fake suede material so they'd be ruined by mud but for £12 I don't really mind.

Just going to have lunch then call sister, since I picked up all the bits of flat pack furniture from Argos for her to put together.

    Hope everyone's day gets better.

Sally, thinking of you, I hope today goes as well as it can.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Hi Ames,

There is a starbucks in my local Mr S - did you go somewhere like that or do they have to be actual Starbucks shops?
