Poppy9 - I have tried on Airline Network, but couldnt find cheaper than TCD, but guess it is cos we have to go at peak time of year - Again, just wondered how you managed to find it cheaper !!
Sorry for the long post. Any replies would be most welcome.
You have to keep trying with Airline network. They have USA sales so sign up for the emails and try when you get one notifiying you of sale. Our 3 flights were just £888. A week later they were back upto £1200 and a week after that down to £800. They were always virgin flights I was getting quotes on but Virgin Atlantic site was more expensive.
Once you can hammer your flight price down the Villa and Car Hire will be cheaper than TCD. With TCD you have to upgrade so much like booking seats, better car, insurance etc. that the price quickly rises.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

phague we are flying out at the end of June, out school holidays start 30 June so they are only missing a day or two of school when the do basically nothing. Although our holiday is with Virgin flights it was booked through Jestsave what I did was phone them direct ( they are a nightmare to get through to) and asked for the best deal they could give ( had had other quotes that day from other cos and online). I then phone Holiday Hypermarket and asked if they could beat the price, the phoned jestsave who confirmed the price they had quoted me then Hypermarket gave a further discount from there. Personally I think Jestsave may have quoted me wrong in the first place but I am happy with the price.0

I do not know whether this will help anybody as I do not know anything about Florida, but I had reason to go on the Virgin holidays website tonight to look at a hotel and it is stating that from 6pm tonight there is 7% off adult bookings to Florida. Do not know whether this is a good deal or not but it might help someone. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Good old Hypermarkets - we'll pretty much always beat a quote! Give us a try sometime......mind you, could lead to me having to do too much work tomorrow if you all call @ once!! Best not post the phone number - think will upset a moderator or two hahaha!!!
cheers

the cheapest way to stay in contact is to text. If your phones are tri-band there is no
problem0 -
Two way radios are a good idea but I take the opportunity to warn you that the long range ones run on a frequency that requires a licence. IIRC it is GMS and FRS. The GMS requires a licence. Some handsets have both GMS and FRS frequencies and as long as you only use FRS you do not need the licence
Not sure how closely these things are monitored etc but thought prewarned is prearmed. A usefull guide can be found here0 -
Hi, we have been to florida for the last 5 years, always booking the villa and flights ourselves, every year I have tried to hold my bottle until the last minute and every year have failed and booked the flights early only to note that flights were much cheaper closer to the time. Can't go wrong with airline network and don't be afraid to go with a scheduled flight that includes a change of plane in the US, did this twice with small children and it was not problem at all. Enjoy your holiday.0

last year I went into a cingular mobile shop and bought just a sim card, I was able to top it up and it worked fine in florida. I would recommend that you do this as using your UK sim costs a fortune. Google for Cingular and you shold get some details. Bear in mind that in the US you pay to recieve calls on a mobile.
Hope this helps.0
