Hi, I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but it seems relevent to this page.
Thomson have a special offer deal on this weekend where the exchange rate is $2 per £1. Fab price for cash or travellers cheques. The only catch is its a minimum purchase of £1000 worth.
I've just rung the branch in Cardiff who have run out but are expecting more tomorrow so let me reserve. I think its only available instore.
The offer ends tomorrow (Monday)
Hope this help someone!0 -
It may also be worth looking at First Choice and Virgin (yes, sometimes they can be cheaper, esp if they have a chidrens offer on, and you can get 10% of by joining the Flying club which is free to join) .0

Hi new to this one but after some advice. My lovely oh is preparing to give up smoking and as an insentive we are hoping to book a USA holiday for 2008/09 (must be school hols) for the family (2 adults 3 kids) now we are completely new to this having only travelled in the UK - so a little nervous about the whole process + determined not to be ripped off. I like the idea of booking accomodation/flights etc seperately (if it works out cheaper??), however worry that as novices to the travel game we may be better to go with the relative security of package deal. Any advice from you more seasoned travellers warmly received.
A package holiday to Florida is not like a package holiday to Spain. You don't get a rep at your hotel visiting you, you would have to drive to where ever they are located. Generally you will only see them at the airport upon arrival where they tell you where to pick up your car and if hiring a villa, your villa keys.
Booking independently just means you find the hire desk yourself, not difficult as all signs are EnglishAnother option is to book transport or get a taxi to your hotel/villa and to have your hire car delivered to you the next day. To find your hotel/villa you can get your directions before you leave. Contact the hotel or villa owner and I'm sure someone on here can provide you with good links to easy maps.

Has any one used the Royal Palm Lounge at Sanford airport?
If so Whats it like.?
TCD is charging £11 a head to use, will it be worth it?
Its usually pretty miserable coming back so this maybe something to try.
Its years since we flew into/out of Sanford! So we have no idea whet the airport is like, MCO is bad enoughBe ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Its not bad, not as good as a lot of airpirt louges, but far more comfortable than the airpoirt, esp if there is a delay. Also incldes free drinks.
Sanford has less facicites than MCO0 -
Hi,
Flying Glasgow to Orlando Sanford in a couple of weeks, was wondering if its worth calling a day or so before to see if we can get a deal on the Premiar Gold seats (more legroom, seatback tv, complimentary drinks, snacks) - has anyone done this before or thinks it might work! I think it would add about 250 pounds to our holiday each to book it now, but think I might be cheeky and call!
Anyone who has flown with mytravel longhaul - are there only overhead tvs in the standard area? Customer service girl said some flights have seatback tvs on all seats but it depends what plane you get - thinking of getting a portable dvd player..
Woohoo!!! less than 2 weeks to go :beer:0 -

We used the lounge last year and i would not use it again this year when we go. The lounge was completely full when we got there and there were no seats available for anyone to sit. they were still letting people in after us even though there was no room. everyone was complaining at the desk, (a lot of shouting and swearing was going on) we complained when we got back and received a full refund. We actually came out of the lounge so we could get a seat!!! i think everyone was in the lounge as it was empty outside!! We did go in August so it was peak time.0 -

Plenty of internet sites selling Disney World tickets for similar prices. The ones that send you actual tickets say that proper tickets are better than email vouchers.
I would have thought an email voucher would be easier in case you lost the proper tickets.
Which is better, tickets or email voucher?0 -
I would say a voucher, as if you loose a ticket before you get there (either inthe post of in your own hands), then it cannot be replaced. Also, exchanging the vouchers only takes a couple of minutes when you get there.0
