Bloody Petrol Prices

With people still paying over £1 for a litre of bottled water, Petrol is dirt cheap with the amount of extraction/refining/transportation involved.
I really dont see how this is relevant but it seems to crop up on every fuel prices thread. There are plenty of things that cost more than petrol but a lot of people NEED to fuel their cars so they can get to or carry out their jobs, kids to school, etc. You do NOT need to buy water in this country, it comes straight out of the tap and is already paid for with your council tax. I cant remember the last time I bought bottled water.0 -

Now we are moving to the States it is just another thing that makes me smile in a nostalgic muse......:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -

I don't want to pi$$ on your parade, but when I lived in the States I found I was spending about the same on petrol as here - you tend to drive many more miles and the cars aren't as fuel efficient. OK if you live in the middle of a city, though. Good luck - I really envy you. I would love to be moving back.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
!Poppycock. ONLY uses Shell V Power, you've been spun a yarn
I have no idea what he drives but quite a few Japanese imports are set up for high octane petrol only (does not have to be V-power though)Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -

its very good for the engine. i put a dose of bloody petrol in every 10 tankfulls.
its improved the economy and sharpened the throttle a little bit. gonna get a bottle of bloody diesel for my new car
Back on topic, highest ive seen is 1.21 for petrol in Nottingham. Round here in Croydon its 1.11/1.12. When i started driving it was around 70p/litre and would cost me £30 to fill the tank. Now its costs me about £60 to brim it, but with a diesel im getting about 150 miles further than i did in the petrol0 -
I hadn't thought of that! But you're still getting better value for money as the same monetary amount of petrol is getting you further over there. And you're driving a nicer car that drinks fuel rather than a stupid little european diesel box.iolanthe07 wrote: »Now we are moving to the States it is just another thing that makes me smile in a nostalgic muse......
