Bloody Petrol Prices

Diesel is £119.9 around here. To the person who is paying that for Derv then I'd find another garage. Derv is agricultural surely. Do you drive a tractor?
No, If I was a farmer I would use Red Deisel in my tractor, but as I am not, you cannot legally use Red Diesel in a road vehicle or the vultures of HMRC will be down on you quick smart. Alistair NEEDS his fuel duty to help fill the black hole Gordon has dug for him and pay MP's moat dredgings you see. I fill up at the nearest ASDA where the difference on the price makes the excuse to shop there worthwhile.0 -

The way to 'win' is to use less fuel. Whether that be driving more economically, cutting out non essential driving or changing your car to an ultra efficient one next time round. I've bought a Passat Bluemotion this time, and i'm getting 64mpg on average, and spending about £110 a month on fuel. Two years ago i was spending £500 a month on diesel in an x5 jeep when the fuel prices were at their peak.0 -

If only I could afford a Bluemotion, many have no option but to soldier on with what they have, this is where the VED whammy hits home, along with the spiralling cost of fuel. Remember also to factor depreciation, into your cost saving calculations. But yes, if you can afford it the Bluemotion is one way of saving0 -
You don't need a flashy brand new VW, by any means. My '03 Astra eco4 gives great mpg -- 65+ on the motorway. Bought at 5 years old, it cost less than my partner's 2-year-old base model ford ka, and I think it represented great value.0
