If you cancel your agreement within 14 days you can then sign up with someone else. The 8 campaign rules applies after this time, or if you've put an order in.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

    Hi Julie,
You work so hard for your family - you should be proud of yourself. You don't know me but I feel like sending you a big hug. Sometimes Avon doesn't work out for people but I'm wondering how well you'd do if you had a liitle support from your SL or ASM or even another rep who's local to you. Having a few friendly customers makes a big difference and gives you a confidence boost. Can you ask for more territory? Hope you think about giving it a bit longer - and don't worry about asking for help from your SL or ASM - it's in their interest to help you be successful! Love & best wishes, Silver x

    Hello,

Just wondering if there are any sales leaders from wiltshire here? I would really like to give Avon a go (although quite nervous!) and thought I'd try here rather than through the website.

How long has it taken people to get established customer base with Avon? HAve you had many months where you haven't hit the £78 mark?

    Hi Wildfrog and welcome

Can't help re SL as I'm in East Anglia and only a rep.

However, I've been doing Avon since October 2007 and have never failed to hit the minimum order value - in fact I've always been over Higher order value, so its worked well for me.

I have 2 territories, I started with one of around 180 houses then later added another 82 around where I live. I probably deliver books to around 80 - 100 houses each time now (you always get some who are not interested) i've also built up around 20 Family & Friends customers over the years and in total I average around £75 earnings per campaign.

How well you do on territory depends on the territory of course, some are more lucrative than others (for some reason council houses see to be good and large, posh ones not so good). It will also take people time to get used to you, especially if they have had a series of reps who didn't continue. The key thing is to be reliable so that people know that if they order they will actually get their goods.

I think most of us on here were nervous at the start - I remember Johanne, in particular, being terrified, and now she's really flying :j There is all the support you need on here - there nearly always seems to be someone online so you will usually get a quick answer to any question.

    HTH :D

    Thanks for quick reply Elliebee!

What do you do when you get your territory. Do you knock on the doors to ask if they would be interested before giving them a booklet or just put a booklet through each door? Do you end up with alot of books wasted or do you get most your books back? I saw on the tips page about staggering so 1/2 a territory is on one campaign and the other 1/2 on the next campaign so books can be recycled, are the books returned in good enough condition to recycle? Hope it's not silly questions.

I thought I'd give Avon a go a few campaigns ago ... not a single person wanted to buy anything ... as they pointed out .. it's all cheaper by having your own Avon account or by buying from Ebay hahahahah

Lotus Shield .. latest 'gonna make us a fortune' product .. already selling on Ebay for £4.50 + £1.50 p&p .. but that's stil, £1 cheaper than buying from an Avon rep ... DOH!

I'm just stocking up on the promo offers (where cheaper) then I'll jack it in as a waste of time ..

Hi i've just done my second campaign and got £454.19 in orders which i dont think is bad to say the book wasnt that good! Just wondering if to offer a free gift with every order over a certain amount for the next book to try and boost my sales even more. Cant make my mind up what to put either £10, £15 or £20 and was wondering what other people put when offering a free gift.

I think it depends on what type of person you, where your territory is, what hours you have available.

    My advice is:
If you are able to do your "round" between 6-8pm then I would knock at the doors and introduce yourself, but you will not get everyone in.
If you're not around at those times or you feel more comfortable then just post the brochures through BUT what I would recommend is that you put a little WELCOME note in - introducing yourself. This will help as people will see that you've made that extra effort and that there is a good chance you will go back to collect the brochure and actually deliver the products.

If you look after your brochures then you will be fine. Knowing what I know now (hindsight is great) I would ask your SL or ASM who appoints you to supply you with some plastic brochure bags (they're only 80p for 50) - this will MASSIVELY protect your brochures from rain. They've even got rid of the silly hole punches now!

You will get lost brochures (circa 10% 1st time around) but if you call back at different times about 3 times you will get most back. I say to a lot of my representatives "If you are anything like me, you take the brochure to bed/bath with you to look at, write out the order form and then forget to pop it back outside" - THIS IS SO TRUE.

As a newbie, I wouldn't recommend splitting territory into 2 rounds yet - I would try to turn over your books 3-4 times a campaign to start with. It just gets too confusing otherwise.

Anyway, that's just what I think......

Look at what order values you got - were most people spending £10 or £15 pounds.....as what you want to do is upgrade them to the next level.
i.e. if most spend £10 already put the offer at £15.

Pick something cheap - sometimes it is better to buy out of the main book something for 99p (cost to you 75p) rather than something out of the clearance which has already had discount taken off it.
