I'm also considering quitting. Seems I work alot for not alot at all. Plus it means in have to run out on my bike in the evening after kids are fed. No one answers the door and i'm fed up! Tax man wants a cut... A cut of what though? Ha. I'd say its 5 to 10pounds a camp after buying my books, book bags etc. Am I just totally wasting my time?Julie0

Also thank you to the other lovely people who've helped giving me support on here, I'm so grateful for it.
I've figured out I'm going to give it a go, I spoke to my Mum about it again too and explained a bit more about it and she seemed a little happier. The problem was she'd given it ago herself back when she was 18 and didn't like it, although I imagine it was much harder back then without the use of online ordering!
I knew already she was a bit Avon fan, but she told me my Aunty and Cousin also love Avon, I feel a bit bad that I may steal them away from another rep, but I guess I have to get started somehow and I know friends and family is a good way to start!

I have a ASM coming to see me tomorrow, she's my only Avon port of call atm, so I'm going with her I guess, if she turns out to be useless I'll have to unsign up and track down a SL.
Another good note - my boyfriend is being very supportive and is passing the word on to his Mum and her friends for me
Secondly as for your message:
Hi Im Emma, your new Avon Representative. Happy to provide you with a reliable local service.
Mention 1 or 2 or the offers in the book as well.
Once you sign up, you cant just unsign and sign up to a SL, you have to miss 8 brochures before you can do that. (unless you quit and then your mum wants to start avon for a new Sales Leader) hint hint.:T wealth is a state of mind :T0 -

Hi JulieJesta
I know how you feel. You hear about all these reps making at least £100-£150 each campaign, and my SL puts on her website about getting a payrise each month....
however as I found out, she does not just do Avon....
How long have you been doing Avon for? How much territory do you have? I know you have probably previously told us all this but it means having to look at each post you have made to find the info.
The taxman can't take what you aren't earning! You are allowed to earn xxxx amount before they can start taxing you.
I got a part time job as I needed a steady and guaranteed income, but I tell you what I got paid on the 5th, 3/4 has to go to my childminder! and £60 for a 4 weekly bus pass, leaves me very little for bills!
I still have to do Avon and Mystery Shopping and Surveys to try and survive....
So it is not necessarily that the grass is greener on the other side. If you are lucky to find a well paid job, it is worth working, but in my job we don't get paid for first 4 days of sickness, then SSP, and there are 3 days a year where we MUST attend the Director's functions!
Umm, it might be that you need to request new fresher territory, hopefully customers that will leave their books out and place lots of orders.
Have you tried putting books in places other than your territory? ie baby clubs, hairdressers, beauticians, etc?
Have you tried promotions, like spend £10 and get a free gift? I actually find these are now working for me! In the beginning they didn't, but my customers must like my free gifts!
put a bit more about what you do and maybe we can brainstorm to help you boost your business. Do you get a chance to go to your local call in?0 -

If you track your credit then it will give you the option to fill in your returns slip online. (You fill in one form, quantify the returns, input the date and returns label no. and the system does the rest. Prints two forms - one to go in the box and a 2nd one, which the delivery/collection driver will sign for you as a receipt.) The system will show both gross and nett prices but you will, of course, be credited at the nett price.
she WILL need to do a manual returns if cant print out the forms (ie no printer) even if doing them online xxcamp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

Aureol- I work 30 hours. On am average shift I earn 40pounds pre tax. No child tax help - then my child care for shift is 25pounds. I probably lose 6ish in tax then NI. So 9pounds a day. I've 2 kids. I try f-ing hard and get nowhere! My avon is about 100 houses. So many told me to sod off! I've been doing it 4 months. I'd love to be a sales leader and earn more, but I can't afford a car, nor extra childcare so I cycle everywhere with a small loud passenger on the back.
I wish I had friends, or family. Its complicated, but i've had PND that never really went away. I can't door knock, I can't just leave books places, I haven't got the confidence to ask.I take my toddler out with me for avon as being alone freaks me out! Please don't just think i'm a drama queen, but I text and use internet as talking face to face is hard.
I have a genius for a son, aged not 8 yet his teachers say he's age 14 in ability. He gets bored and angry and disruptive. My partner disapproves of my avoning as it is. Them I got a vat bill. Arg
I've worked 9 days in 10 and my 'day off' was avoning day. I'm knackered!Julie0 -

A rep of mine started last week, orders due in tomorrow. I suggested 'free gift for orders over £20'. Of the few books she collected back (collecting the rest tonight) she had 6 orders of minumum £20!
From that i wouold say it works....its worth a try. Im really pleased for her.
I have an ongoing offer for my customers but i guess most of them havent read that its ongoing so next camp Im going to print out big 'offer' flyers and see if it works for me.

If you've got email addresses of your customers, it could be worth doing a 'round robin' just to make sure they saw the offers and see if they want to take advantage of them. The Daily Mail article was on 27 May (p73) so if you need an 'excuse' to contact your customers, you could use that i.e. 'just wondered if you saw ...... and there's still time to add it to your order if you fancy trying it?' Or something like that.
I wonder if anybody saw this article? I wanted to quote it but checking online http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/beauty/article-1281672/BEAUTY-CONFIDENTIAL-The-great-fake-tan-test.html, it shows only a 5/10? Anyone actually see the paper? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'
