Hi everyone, I've been watching this thread for a while and thinking about joining up, was wondering if there's anyone on here from East Yorkshire or anyone that can point me in the right direction rather than signing up on the website?

Also going on whats being said am I right in thinking that if your orders less than the £78 mark you get no discount so don't make anything?

And as you can see from my signature I'm on a DMP so my credit ratings totally shot, is this a problem?

Thanks in advance and I hope no-one minds me jumping in x

You'll get lots of advice on here, NB. Even though I signed up with a SL, I've found this thread of more use! ;) A rep local to me signed up via an ASM though and -probably aggravated by not being on the Net either - she's just left to flounder......

Am wondering if, in this age of technology, whether it's actually necessary to live in the same area as your SL? I'm in Devon - but my family are in Yorkshire so I travel up there a 'few times' a year. Not ideal but still with internet and a landline to sort out any problems at negligible cost then maybe it's feasible to just choose any SL you fancy?

As for your credit history, Avon mark you initially on a points system (others have already gone into more detail so no point my repeating) - seems fairly laid back unless you actually live at a 'debt address'. There are 'ways and means' if you fail initially but have recently come to realise that some people do tend to sign up to Avon just to earn a quick buck without any intention to pay their debt so it's good that Avon do at least try and sort the wheat from the chaffe.

Good luck; if you're anything like me then you'll end up making lots of new friends, whilst learning about/taking advantage of all the new products (and, of course, earning yourself a 'bob or two' along the way!:T)

Blinkin eck - after ordering less and less brochures each campaign as I wasn't using them......I'm actually going to have to put an additional order in for brochures as sorted through last night, and cos I've actually signed a few people up lately I haven't got any more *if* I get anyone else to join in the next couple of campaigns - whoop! Doing better than I'd thought lol!
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

hi all. Hope you have a fab weekend.

I was just wondering if anyone has an iphone. I was thinking of getting one and was curious as to whether we can get onto the avon site and do our orders using the phone.

I have a bog standard pay as you go phone at the moment so forgive me if this is a stupid question

Not a silly question at all! I love my iPhone and it's never out of my hot little hand, but I'm not sure I would want to use it for ordering my Avon on a regular basis. It can be a bit fiddly for that sort of thing due to the small screen. Having said that, I use the 'Shopper' app to list all my customers and order amounts for each campaign which means that I have a list with me wherever I go. I would also use it for ordering in the event of my PC not working.

    HTH :D

I recommend that you find a good local (within an hour) Sales Leader if possible. Although you can sort out a lot of problems over the phone/internet it helps to be close by for the following reasons:

    1) You are more likely to get a 2nd visit in person

    2) If you are nearby the SL can "physically" support you if you are doing any events/parties or can drop off extra brochures etc. They also should have a better knowledge of the area and good working relationships with the local area managers. (which can help with territory disputes etc)

    3) If you do decide to be a Sales Leader then it means better 1 on 1 and on the job training - you can meet up and learn how to prospect and do the business. Also, your SL will be more willing to show you how to do the 1st appointment, 2nd appointment for your first few sign ups.

However, all said, you cannot guarantee who will be a "good" sales leader and support you. My advice is to do your due diligence, ask questions and find out about how much support & advice you are going to get.

Also, be careful, if you apply to the non-corporate Avon website - your details MAY be sold on (Apparently £6 a lead is the going rate) to someone else - and not necessarily the person who you applied with.

Not a bad campaign by my standards, each campaign is seeing new customers which can only be good and I just found out my Aunt and cousin work at Corby. They should know a thing or two lol!!

I live in Corby too! That's what's putting me off, I'm sure we must be swamped with Reps even though I've had 1 brochure in 8 years.

    Still thinking...

    hello ladies....

    Please can you help me?

I have requested a return on a bra due to my customer saying it didn't fit her properly, didn't want to try another blah blah.... Ok so I have filled the bit in online and I can see Avon are going to credit me.

When you complete the returns form book and it asks for the 'cost' is that the cost in the brochure/ price customer paid which was £6.50 or the cost to me which would be £4.88?? :o

    Thanks...

If you've already requested the return/credit online then there's no need to fill in a manual returns slip. If you track your credit then it will give you the option to fill in your returns slip online. (You fill in one form, quantify the returns, input the date and returns label no. and the system does the rest. Prints two forms - one to go in the box and a 2nd one, which the delivery/collection driver will sign for you as a receipt.) The system will show both gross and nett prices but you will, of course, be credited at the nett price.

There are some lovely ladies on here who have a "Hi, I am your Avon Representative" leaflet that you can put on the front of your books when you first deliver. This tells people you are the new Avon Representative and also asks them if they want to see another book. If they say no, that is fine, just keep a record of their door number and don't deliver a book for about 6 months. After 6 months, just do a "I know you have previously advised you are not interested, but just thought you might like to see another one...."

Hi, thanks for your help! I think this leaflet is a great idea, do you know where I can get one from or shall I make one up myself? I wish I had a printer in my flat! I always rely on using the one in the Uni library!

Also thank you to the other lovely people who've helped giving me support on here, I'm so grateful for it.

I've figured out I'm going to give it a go, I spoke to my Mum about it again too and explained a bit more about it and she seemed a little happier. The problem was she'd given it ago herself back when she was 18 and didn't like it, although I imagine it was much harder back then without the use of online ordering!

I knew already she was a bit Avon fan, but she told me my Aunty and Cousin also love Avon, I feel a bit bad that I may steal them away from another rep, but I guess I have to get started somehow and I know friends and family is a good way to start!

I have one, slightly silly question...i'm not sure what to put on the Avon order form as a message to customers...I was thinking something along the lines of

"Hi, I'm Emma you're new Avon representative, if you have any questions contact me on (Mobile Number)"

what do you think? any advice on this?

I have a ASM coming to see me tomorrow, she's my only Avon port of call atm, so I'm going with her I guess, if she turns out to be useless I'll have to unsign up and track down a SL.

Another good note - my boyfriend is being very supportive and is passing the word on to his Mum and her friends for me :)
