That's alright then, at least I scraped through the lowest one. C10 has been rubbish for me.
Others have said that too, which makes me wonder if people are making the most out of creative ordering i.e. irrespective of whichever book your customers order from you have the opportunity to make savings and/or get extra free products by back-ordering from the previous campaign?

For instance:

* C10's best sellers for me have been the fit/flipflops @ £10 (the fact that I looooove them could be infectious! :rotfl:)
* C9 best offers (for me) were brushes/AT products 3 = £5 and sun products 3 = £9, not forgetting the Smart Woman's Secret leaflet offering free nail varnishes (worth £4) for every item ordered (quad eye shadows/spectralash mascara's @ £5 and lipglosses @ £3.50) Absolute bargain!!

Yes I had quite a few 3 for £9 sun products last campaign. Which reminds me, I need to order some myself since we've had good weather and the kids have used up the last of last years supply.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao

3 sun creams for £9 has got to be a bargain in anyone's book although, having said that, I had two customers ordering 2 for £8.... ;) Fine by me.... No accounting for some, eh?

Am not a lover of fake tan but seeing as one of the Avon ones scored 8/10 in the Daily Mail last week (and that was at £8 rather than £3) then just had to order a couple of those 'free' for me. After all, if I still don't like them, then I can of course return them and I'll actually make a small profit...... win/win situation! I love Avon!! :j

Starry-Eyed, welcome to the thread and sure you'll get lots of excellent advice and support on here. Got to admit though that some unknown ASM turning up unannounced at my door, dropping off 60 books and saying they'll come back a few days later would not exactly fill me with joy......

If you read back, you'll probably see that reps tend to get more support if they sign up via a Sales Leader rather than an Area Sales Manager - each to their own though. Equally, 'the norm' is for new reps to be given 20 books (or maybe 20 current + 20 back campaign) - never, ever heard of 60 books being given to someone, who may or may not even want to be an Avon rep!

Could be wrong but.... ASMs have their own targets to meet so it could be more important to her to actually sign you up (and not care less what happens after then) than to make sure you have sufficient grounding to be successful doing Avon.

Completey agree with you MC - Starry Eyed when I first read that you'd been left with that amount of books when you weren't even sure you wanted to do Avon, my immediate thought was "that area manager is desperate to hit a target". Area managers get set ridiculous targets of how many reps they have to get each campaign, which is why for the most part, once they've managed to get you to put your first order in, you'll probably struggle getting any further help of them. I joined with an area manager, and I really wish I hadn't - I was chucked in the deep end, and have always struggle getting a response from her.

I'd say if you do want to go ahead with Avon - find yourself a *good* sales leader - if there isn't someone on here local/that you want to join with, then look in your local paper, or google maps, and there should be some adverts there. Ask them various questions to see how you like them, if they seem too pushy etc.

If you decide to go ahead with Avon - then of course we'll all be here to help/advice/support you :j

Hello, Hello and Hello

Just back from a fab long weekend in Norfolk to see my best friend and her kiddies.
Just flew through the last few pages, so claregre. Pm and Ill give you my mobile number, some things are easier done over the phone.

or, email me at lucyclare73@hotmail.co.uk

Johanne

Well done you. Im hoping for that email in C12!!!!!
And I fully intend to be silver in 2011, Just hope that my customers are happy to support me.

Newbies.

Give it a go, youve only your time to lose basically.
And it can be scary as hell, but you do soon get some confidence and find it mostly a doddle

SL Statements - Just had mine for C9!! Wooohoooo Yip yip, did well again. and really cant wait for C10's. By my calculations, I will have actually made a real 'wage' for C10 with the combination of rep commission and SL commission.

So, having just driven home for 7 hours, with two kids in the back, and a hangover from hell, am off out to deliver my delivery notices now, as its delivery on tuesday! (glutton for punishment really) takeaway on the way home and then shower and bed.

Will catch up with all posts later on or tomorrow.

:)

Hi

Sorry to barge in on you all:)

I was approached in the street (near my local shops) a few days ago by a lady claiming she was looking to recruit reps in the area...would this be the normal thing for Avon to do?? She gave me a little sample of perfume as a 'sorry for bothering me' gesture, but it didn't actually say Avon on it either! Seemed very strange and I just brushed her off saying I didn't have time for it atm...I was with my 14mth old and am due baby 4 in 3wks, so along with it seeming a bit odd, I genuinly didn't consider that I may want to take up Avon.....

After thinking about it a little bit, I half wish I had asked her for more information as I have lived in my current property for 3yrs and my previous one for 18mths (which was maybe a mile away) and have never received a brochure in all that time, so there can't be any reps in the area, I sort of keep thinking I wouldn't actually mind giving it a go:)

I know it is impossible to say how much is generally earnt from Avon, but could someone explain a little bit how it works please and maybe a guide to earning potential...say, is it possible to regularly earn £150-£200pm or is it more likely to be in the £40-£50pm region?

Thanks in advance:D
Mel xx

Yes that could well have been an area manager or sales leader "Prospecting" - just stopping people in the street and handing out samples/leaflets/brochures to see if anyones interested. The samples may have said avon on them, a lot of the samples it isn't that obvious that they are from avon.

There is a lot of information on how it all works on the first page of this thread - basically show brochures to people (some only sell to friends/family) others, like me, have a territory as well to deliver brochures to. Brochures are roughly every 3 weeks (there are a couple of 2 week campaigns in December/January). Once you've ordered £78 worth you get a 20% discount, over £148 and you get 25%. So yes it is possible to earn a decent amount - if you get sales of £400 then you'll have earnt £100, plus with "creative ordering" you'll be able to earn a bit extra / get yourself some products for free. If you're thinking about it, you may as well give it a go - if you don't put an order in then you don't owe anything, so see how it goes and how you like it.
