Thanks Lozza - I might well have a look into it, like I say I have never received a brochure in either street I have lived in, my friend also lives maybe 2-3 miles away (if that) and she has only ever received one for a short time and she has been there for about 8yrs!!
The more I think about it the more it appeals to me, esp as I left work after having ds3 and am also studying for a degree part time, I 'should' be able to fit it in easily with my other responsibilities.....I could go straight after dropping the older two at school to deliver/collect booklets.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Well like we always suggest to people who are thinking of joining - go with a sales leader, rather than through the official website as you'll end up with an area manager helping you. I did this and regret it - area managers just view you as a way to hit their targets, so once you've placed your first target thats usually the last you'll hear of them. There could be someone on here who's local to you (with you being in Cheshire I might not actually be that far away depending where abouts you are), if not look in your local paper and theres usually an advert in them. Ask a few questions, and judge if you like them, and how pushy they seem.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Sorry to barge in on you all:)
I was approached in the street (near my local shops) a few days ago by a lady claiming she was looking to recruit reps in the area...would this be the normal thing for Avon to do?? She gave me a little sample of perfume as a 'sorry for bothering me' gesture, but it didn't actually say Avon on it either! Seemed very strange and I just brushed her off saying I didn't have time for it atm...I was with my 14mth old and am due baby 4 in 3wks, so along with it seeming a bit odd, I genuinly didn't consider that I may want to take up Avon.....
After thinking about it a little bit, I half wish I had asked her for more information as I have lived in my current property for 3yrs and my previous one for 18mths (which was maybe a mile away) and have never received a brochure in all that time, so there can't be any reps in the area, I sort of keep thinking I wouldn't actually mind giving it a go:)
I know it is impossible to say how much is generally earnt from Avon, but could someone explain a little bit how it works please and maybe a guide to earning potential...say, is it possible to regularly earn £150-£200pm or is it more likely to be in the £40-£50pm region?
Thanks in advance:D
Mel xx
Hello Redmel
Some Sales Leaders and Avon Area Sales Managers do approach people on the street in this way, to introduce new reps to Avon.
I noticed that you are in Cheshire, I'm a Sales Leader in North Wales, and must say honestly, after only 4 months with Avon, my commission levels have risen dramatically.
The Sales figures at the bottom of my signature show a steady growth and I get 25% commission from my Sales.
If you are interested in having a chat over the phone, then let me know. You can either send me a Pm on this site, or have a look at my avon website, www.myavon.co.uk/lucywebber.
You are welcome to email me at lucyclare73@hotmail.co.uk.
Either way, just have a think about things. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.:T wealth is a state of mind :T0 -
Aww bless my MIL, shes not giving up yet - shes determined not to have to give up avon just due to lack of time as she loves it so much (mostly as she loves getting her face creams cheaper lol) - its just her Mum & Dad making life impossible for her that is making it difficult to have enough time but she doesn't want her Mum to "win" so to speak and force her to quit. Hi everyone, I've been watching this thread for a while and thinking about joining up, was wondering if there's anyone on here from East Yorkshire or anyone that can point me in the right direction rather than signing up on the website?
Also going on whats being said am I right in thinking that if your orders less than the £78 mark you get no discount so don't make anything?
And as you can see from my signature I'm on a DMP so my credit ratings totally shot, is this a problem?
Thanks in advance and I hope no-one minds me jumping in x0 -

I would agree with that. I enquired through the website and an area manager came out to see me. She came to see me twice - once to sign me up and once to check I knew how to place my first order and now I can't get hold of her! She never replies to my emails and I really wish I had signed up through a sales leader as I get no support at all. Luckily I am doing pretty well by myself and haven't had any major queries but it would be nice to know the support is there if needed !!!Oct GC: £144.07/£2000 -
Welll done Johanne, please excuse my ignorance, new rep on my first set of books!
Can you let me know or where do you find out how to get to different levels ie Bronze pc is that presidents club? or is presidents club different?
Looking at the figures that you have put do you need to get over £1000 in the next 8 campaigns? and why only 8?
Sorry to ask all the questions if it has already been mentioned on here.

p.s Collected first sets of books on my territory and have £130 in orders, i have redelivered the books to collect on Wednesday so i'm hoping to make 25% commision:D0 -

Yes unfortunately if you don't order £78 or more then you don't earn - but thats because we get free delivery unlike with a lot of companies. Most people tend to find that on average their customer spend is at least £10, so you only need 8 customers and you're usually over £78. Plus any brochures you order count towards hitting that amount, though you won't get a discount of the brochures.
Your credit history shouldn't be a problem - I've had reps with CCjs etc be accepted with no problem, including MIL - she can't even get a "proper" bank account or a sim only contract as her history is so bad, but avon accepted her fine. You might find your initial credit limit is lower, but the lowest it can be is £200, which means you can put roughly £260 of orders through with no problem.
To be honest I'm not sure as there is any SL on here who is from Yorkshire, could be wrong though! Perhaps if there is a rep on here from there they might be able to suggest their SL to join with....if not check in your local paper/google avon & your town and you should find a local SL, ask them a few questions and see how you like them.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hi Mel!! :T :T I'm an Avon newbie too and really liking it so far...though of course I only have little Finn and not 4 kids like you will!! I'm actually like it with a young baby as it gets us out in the fresh air and for healthy walks almost every day
.
This is my first campaign so I'm wondering if it's probably beneficial to phone my orderees the day before I plan on delivering just to remind them? Is this the usual practice?top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

For those ladies looking to sign up with a Sales Leader, if you are not contacted by anyone on this thread, there may be SL's who read and lurk, then it is worth trying Facebook. You might find a Rep advertising their Avon business, but they may have an SL that they can put you in touch with.
Good luck to everybody
And to repeat what Lozza says, it does make a difference when you are signed upto an SL, but you need one that will support you....0
