well done Gloversgirl!
I am recommending Avon products to everyone at work, they are even asking me for advice now, but I advise and refer them to the resident Avon lady who was selling to them before I came along. She hasn't even said thank you to me! I am boosting her sales by recommending tried and tested, and instead of sneaking the sales for myself am telling them to go to her for a book. Saw her today, no thank you, just a dirty look!
Well done but also shame on you, aureol. You don't have to be pushy but just let it be known that you also do Avon (and anyone can order from whoever they like!) Let it be known that you offer ..... for your highest order and have your own personal loyalty scheme
;) You never know, some may not like the 'resident' Avon lady and will be glad of a change.

Does anyone have the Crusade Bag for Life?
I was just wondering if it was sturdy enough for carrying the books around for delivery. At the moment I'm using an Asda canvas bag for life, but I thought something from Avon would be more appropriate if they're strong enough.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
hehehee thanks MC. I did get one order from one of her customers last week after recommending 2 products. She asked her to order them for her, but the rep said the lady would have to wait 3 weeks as she had already put her order in and she would have to pay the additional £2.50 for putting her order in.
Well I already had the products at home but didn't tell the lady this. Just said I was putting in an additional order already, I was, and I was having to pay the £2.50 but as they were regular customers I was happy to do it, and I could order her 2 items.
She was pleasantly surprised when I turned up with them this morning.and then I was recommending the hand creams to another lady..... fingers crossed....

How many times do you drop before you give up as some do open the brochures and others clearly don't. I was thinking 3 strikes then you're out kind of approach and so next campaign I will give them the option to opt out.
I tend to ask if people want a brochure but even so have had customers, who have not ordered for multiple campaigns. If I'm walking past anyway it's no great loss (if needs be just put them on your back campaign so really no loss). This week one finally came to fruition with an order for £33+
Could be wrong but I get the impression that people 'test' you to see how reliable you are. Once you prove that you'll turn up when you say you will then they'll order. Equally, some people don't actually want the 'pressure' of having a brochure every time as they don't like disappointing you by not ordering. I'd much prefer customers to tell me to forget them until....... rather than feel pressured.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

The poor family MC! What they must be going through!
Yes, really doesn't bear thinking about and yet life goes on..... for some.....
Puts things into perspective methinks. Readily hold up my hand to admitting being a 'wuss' in my life; just makes you re-examine your priorities.
For what it's worth this same customer was left an Avon book (C4 and we're now on C9) by another rep, who hasn't bothered to collect it and it's been in their porch ever since). That rep was new to the area (SL so books were cheaper and she littered everywhere) and is actually - no prejudice intended - 'of religious leaning'. What a shame she left such a bad impression of Avon reps by not bothering to collect her books. :cool:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Well done you, the more you get into it then hopefully the more you'll enjoy it. Certainly, that's what I found.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Well done you. Tell them nothing and let them think what they like.
If the rep 'in-situ' has got complacent and you're prepared to go the extra mile then sure word will spread. Maybe mentioning on the QTthat you run your own loyalty scheme might help too?

I had a call from my SL about the territory I asked for. Another rep who is a friend is no longer canvassing so one of her roads (VERY local to me) is available for me to do with the exception of her customers (I have their numbers). Problem is, this is the road where I discovered another rep canvassing last september - have no idea if she has tried again since. It may be a rep who has perhaps stopped doing avon or the fairly new one who moved in down my road who has been canvassing another local reps area. Have decided I will give it a go and have revamped my slips to 'yes please', 'no thanks' and 'I already have a rep'. If I only get the second and third responses then I will pass back to SL as its 80-90 'dead' houses as far as I'm concerned.
Hope its not a waste of time.
Good luck, MM. You may find the rep from last September is long gone.
Am amazed at the amount of reps, who manage to do Avon, but are not on the Net. My printer was broken for one campaign and the amount of handwriting/paperwork really T'd me off.
Rightly or wrongly, I now only canvass for reps who are on the Net.
Good luck!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
