Having taken all previous advice on this forum and others re letters I had received from Civil Enforcement Ltd over a so-called "offence" in July 2011, I thought I had heard the last of this.
Today I received a letter saying they have instructed their solicitors to submit a claim to Northampton County Court and their liabilty has now incresed from the original £75 to £265 + Court fees of £50, and Solicitor's costs of £110 (a total of £425).
They have however offered to accept a "without prejudice" offer of £75 if I pay by 02/02/12.

Is the advice still to ignore?
The "offence" happened in Scotland. Does this affect matters in any way?
    Thanks for your advice.

So it happened in Scotland, and they are planning to go through Northampton money claim online, its funny that as I am sure you have to go through the Sheriff Courts in Scotland ;)

And yes the advice is still to ignore completely, unless court papers do arrive, which will be impossible from Northampton

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I have a copy of a new letter 4 from Parking Eye. I have removed all details and will upload ASAP. There are a few wording changes in the big paragraph and the addition of the "Hospital Parking Charter" logo. Usual rubbish otherwise.

I note that they do not ever quote their VAT number, which is a legal requirement on invoices and, I believe, related papers. I will have a chat with my local HMRC office about that as they may be breaking tax law.

Crabman, if I pm you a copy would that be the easiest way to get it uploaded? Despite clear instructions I am struggling to do so myself.
  • this morning i received letter from debt recovery plus ltd i ignored intital letters as previous forums stated i should do, this letter states bailiffs will be involved then court, will somebody actually knock on my door and will i actually get a ccj against me?
all through parking in mcdonalds and overstaying my welcome, but still purchasing food and sitting in the restaurant.
  • I believe I have been Brainwashed, throughout my life, to never challenge The System, with phrases like "You can't beat The System" featuring with great regularity. We are generally encouraged merely to whinge that The System is unfair.

Now, thanks to wonderful advice from sites such as yours, I have found the confidence to stand up for myself when I feel I am being unfairly treated. So... I shan't Pay the "Fine", and I shan't "Appeal" - I will follow your guidelines, and Ignore their "Bully Boy" tactics. It is amazingly difficult for me, but I am determined. If it turns out that I am one of the 0.01pc, who are taken to Court, I still believe that I can successfully appeal my case at that time (but not before). Thank You again. I will let you know the Final Score at some later date. xxxx

    Post on a Sunday ? ;)

They have it the wrong round, it's court first then if they win you have 28 days to pay , if you don't they will need to go back and pay for court appointed bailiffs to attend. And then you get the ccj against you.

So the above will happen as frequently as you win the euromillions jackpot, which is to say virtually a zero chance of even going to the small claims.

Also could you post in the parking sub forum instead of this thread as its just meant for the letters from the various scammers

Yes that's fine - if the forum won't let you send a PM with the link, just drop the http:// bit and it should come through.
  • Hi Crabman,

PM sent. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to post the link here, just drop the "http://" bit and it should let you post. I can then add it to the main post.

Still nothing :o Could you check you definitely sent it to "Crabman" and not "crabman"?
