  • hi just recieved yet another letter from debt recovery plus ltd, about a car park ticket for euro car parks, this one now offers a reduced payment offer, can anyone tell me how many more letters i will recieve, these go to my grandads house and he opens them, i've recently moved and this about the sixth letter.

i parked on the car park for an hour and it was free for three months prior to this and they were new to this car park, it does state that parking is free for two hours but must have a ticket.

    i didn't get a ticket. oops

any further advice, i haven't responded to anything they have sent me

Welcome to MSE. Could you please start your own thread, as this one is reserved just for listing the actual letters received from PPCs and debt collectors.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • I am soooo glad I did my research before I paid up!! At the top of the notice it says Civil Parking Fine with no mention of Magistrates, so I am just gonna follow the advice on here and ignore it... Will probably just send the letters straight back!

I saw the Watchdog program and fair play to all you guys who took part :T hopefully you've saved me a £100
I have only just received the 2 fines from Swindon train station so will keep you posted.

  • Got a 4th letter (3rd from AA Hutton) in this trail.
Think i got letter 3 before letter 2
This one like my 2nd letter says no further notification will be issued
    they lied
On this one they say "NO FURTHER INTIMATION WILL BE GIVEN AND YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR ANY COURT EXPENSES INCURRED"

Is Intimation a propper word or at least used in this sense

    Here's a definition i googled

"INTIMATION, civil law. The name of any judicial act by which a notice of a legal proceeding. is given to some one; but it is more usually understood to mean the notice or summons which an appellant causes to be given to the opposite party, that the sentence will be reviewed by the superior judge. "

Do they mean Information or Intimidation !!!!!

here's the link to the doctored scan

Today in the post i have got a letter from Excel Parking -stating that i went into one of their operated carparks for Iceland without paying - stating that i entered at 15:31 and left out at 15:52. They are demanding a £60 charge saying i stayed there for 21 minutes.

Now im not denying i went into the car park - but i did not stay there. I wanted to go to Iceland and went into the car park and when i saw the payment machines went over to read the info - as i had never been there before and wanted to know if it may have been free for shoppers. Then i saw one of the workers who was throwing boxes away at the back of the store and asked her whether shoppers had to pay - she said they did and so i left. I then went and found a free parking space at the front of the store. But the whole time i spent in their carpark was less than 5 mins and i was only checking about charges.

In the past when i have bought tickets and have got back to the car a few minutes late and recieved a ticket - i have always paid. But this is something where i think i should not have to pay and i really was not there for that lenght of time but dont know how to prove it.

Do i send them a letter or will that make things worse?
This is really stressing me out.
:confused:I say im a moneysaver, my family think im a cheapskate!

I lost count of the letters I had from Civil Enforcement and Newlyn PLC... I thought I'd had the standard 6 letters listed on this thread, they stopped for a while, then recently they started up again. They seem like duplicates of the ones I've had before threatening court action.

Today though Newlyn telephoned my home. My wife told them I wasnt in and they left a number for me to call them back. I gave it a quick call to see what its all about - they record calls (normal for call centres, but of course these guys are con men so I dont want them recording me), they ask for you to type your reference number in (which of course confirms you've had their letters), and they urge you to press a key to go to an automated payment system. I hung up.

I know this thread is for letters - is it normal to receive phone calls from them? Anyone else had calls? Any suggestions on what to say/not to say? I'd really like this to all just go away now, they have been writing to me for nearly a year. Is that more likely they will stop if I demonstrate that I know my rights, or should I just refuse to talk to them?
