Miss.Sian-Marie wrote: »Hi there,
I too have received 2 letters from Roxburghe saying I owe them £80.00 (Parking ticket, refused to pay as after googling the company I realised it wasn't a genuine council one) it states that if I do not respond within 7 days it will be passed to the solicitors Graham White who will review my case for potential legal action.
Can anyone please advise me on what to do next?
TIA

Don't do anything. You don't owe them a penny. It won't go anywhere near a court.
As for "Graham White", who is actually a solicitor called Michael David Sobell, they are under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for making these sorts of empty threats. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Just received my 4th from Newlyn which has in big red bold - Notice of Court Action. It states that if I don't pay they'll refer my case back to Civil Enforcements Ltd for them to act.
I will try to upload the document but not very tech minded....:o0 -

I've had all of those & this is different. I guess it's the 6th in the chain (2 from Civil Enforcement followed by 4 from Newlyn), now back to Civil Enforcement.0

Well, oh how time flies, my 6th Letter has arrived this morning. They are sending it back to their client for it to go to court. Here's the letter, just add the http in front:

I have a slight variant on the Excel Parking standard reply.
This relates to a car park in Sheffield, underneath the Jury's Hotel. Outside is a large sign saying "All day parking £2.50".
But all day is less than 24 hours to Excel Parking. I stuck my £2.50 in one afternoon, and confusingly got a ticket which appeared to expire 22 hours later. But, notwithstanding that, by the next morning I had a ticket on my car.
I wrote back the standard MS reply, and got a letter back which goes halfway to addressing this - with a photocopy of the sign by the ticket machine saying
"We must advise that with regards to all day parking a tariff of £2.50 is required to cover a parking period of 0-12 hours between the hours of 07:00 am to 19:00 pm. If parking is required after this time a further tariff of £3.00 is required to cover the time period of up to 16 hours until 07:00 am the following morning."
I am contemplating writing back a second time, focussing on the ticket, which appeared to have an expiry time the following afternoon. Confusingly and in contradiction to every other parking ticket I have ever seen, the expiry time is in small numbers at the bottom.
Has any one else opposed this "all day is less than 24 hours" argument?0 -
No, because no-one here bothers to write to a PPC.
Stop communicating and just see out their standard rubbish letter-chain. Stop taking them seriously, they are not parking enforcers they are just a private firm after money.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
